With axe fx and other modellers solid state pedals always will sounds not like they should in real amp and always worse then they really are. I have Rampage (my version has a little bit different printed signs as i remember) till '00s as i remember it is very nice extreme gain pedal with scooped metal tone. Good for thrash metal and for lead tone also.

I definitely like the Zombie better! The Rampage seems like a much more standard, run-of-the-mill preamp-pedal, which is kind of boring. The Zombie seems capable of some pretty insane tones, so I'd go with that one, if given the cance...

The rampage is more preampish. It sounds acceptable even if there are some nasty 3khz peaks that are not eliminable wothout a post eq. This is the major problem.

So I now own a rocktron zombie, but i wanted to ask if the sound can get effected when its battery life is low? I plugged it in to the power supply and it kinda comes out a little flat. If you are anyone have any advice on this problem please help.

I had a Rampage that I never liked. I still don't know why I bought it. It was just thin and extremely noisy. I ended up sticking with my amp's gain at the time.

I had the Zombie. Worst, absolute dirt pedal I ever owned. Zero serious low end, thin and weak and with 10,000 bees buzzing that no gate could stop. Unless you are a beekeeper you be smart no to buy one.

interesting. I see what you mean but for me it's a super unique boost pedal for really disgusting sounds that are no chainsaws. As a standalone... yeah... not so much

I wanted this since I was 16, I’m 35 and recently got it. It took two days of messing with the eq and a boost pedal to get it right. When it’s right, it’s right. You need to basically keep the treble low, I mean 8 o’clock low and push the lows. Boost it with low gain, and it’s an 2000s Cannibal Corpse tone. But it does fizz out if the level is past noon. Just fyi.
