@@superstarultra28 He also grew up and stopped getting in everyone's face. He lost the need to impress and intimidate people. I think it was an improvement to his character that showed he had matured in wisdom. Which isn't to say that I don't have problems with how he was presented after Civil War, but that he stopped being passive aggressive all the time wasn't one of them.
@@stitchlover4381 I feel the same way. I still remember how I felt the night I found out. I had only seen him in three movies(I hadn't seen Civil War yet) and it still hurt just as much as when I found out about Robin. Williams😭
@@kyndrablankenship1758 Yeah. I was already really upset when I found out Grant from Mythbusters died but when Chadwick died I literally SCREAMED in shock WHAAAAAT??!! 😦
Too bad that his solo movie turned him into just another supersoldier. The only difference between him and guys like Steve or Bucky is that he's black and has more expensive toys.
@@rahulmeranaam Do you mind if I ask why? I don't know a lot about Boseman, aside from the obvious performance. What made his passing much more of a loss than many others, celebrity or a regular person?
@@GreyhawkTheAngry The way he died is what hits me the hardest, he died in secret no one not even the execs at marvel knew he had stage 4 cancer and the Avengers: End Game would be the last hurrah
It's because the attention span of the general public is about 1.4 seconds... most people groan/yawn/lose interest in movies that are "too long" so everything gets chopped and trimmed. Me personally, make the movie as long as the story requires it to be! So many movies have been ruined by having so much of it cut away.
This scene had to be cut because it doesn't fit the portrayal of Wakanda they were going with for the BP movie. In BP, they hide their advance tech from the rest of the world, who think Wakanda is a powerless undeveloped country no one pays attention to. That doesn't sync with them having enough political power to force the US to extradite a prisoner against their will.
His character is much more important to the Black Panther world, so I expect they'll use him well, there! Big fight scene with him and Klaw is promised! Should be good!
Brian ORB Lindsey he's definitely top 3 but honestly not gonna lie I gotta say Ironman was the best character he was painted in such a good way throughout the film n I'm on team Cap but I think RDJ killed tho Chadwick did amazing too
bruh this was a good scene why did they cut it out? knowing that Black Panther is at odds against the accords and not really agreeing to them is a good detail
Some things have to be cut just for time. Some don't fit the pacing or final tone of the film. This scene is great for fleshing out T'Challa's character, but it doesn't do much for the overall story. And they can do much the same with other scenes and know they can go bigger down the road.
He’s a king over one of the most advanced nations in the world. He is accustomed to handling business. Whole different game than the avengers and their politics.
Lol I bet that's the first time that's happened to Natasha. Her mind trick didn't work on him and even more so, amused the hell out of him because he could see it coming a mile away. Then she played herself by judging to conclusions without waiting for all the facts revealing her own naiveness and lack of real understanding of his authority.
What is interesting in this scene is that along with her expectation that she's the craftiest person in any room, there is just the barest hint of "Certainly the savage cannot outwit me," in her approach, which is what you would expect from a former Russian spy. Good writing to suggest that bit of colonizer undertone.
How was she trying to mind trick him? She just told him he was going to be under the accords and that he was under the jurisdiction of the accords. And then called him naive. The first part was a fact. The naive part was just an assumption. I wouldn't call either one a mind trick.
Well the entire conversation was a evaluation, as stated in this scene. She was trying to read him by not making it seem that way, which is a mind trick in a way.
Mr.Wolfchamp 1999 She was trying to subtly suggest she had the upper hand, or at the very least he was at a disadvantage. Both the comment about him going after Bucky himself and the one about his suit more obviously were meant to imply both that she expected him to be spoiled royalty and that she was impressed with his tech and initiative. People are only impressed when they are in a station above you. The same implication comes from her mentioning the accords and his lack of understanding of politics from her perspective, a subtle form of 'you really don't know how things work do you.' She failed to realize both the scope of his power, his determination, and his neutrally Machiavellian intelligence. Basically she walked in expecting to have the upper hand (like that time she interrogated dudes while tied to the chair) and within a minute he put her whole scheme on its head.
He and she are not acting, they're living the characters. Chadwick Bozeman's portyal of T'Challa is one of the greatest performances of all time in the mcu and dceu combined. As is black panther, my top #5th comic book characters of all time. MCU rules..
Didn't he? He lost his country because he still hadn't even learned his family's real history. I think the line is a great easter egg, and can be looked back on now to see character growth. It shows that he still had something to learn as a new king, which makes sense. Your response looks just like Natasha's, you spoke before having all the facts, before we realised that T'Challa still did have much to learn.
@@klosell6904 I see where you are coming from, but the context of the scene is more of a discussion on T'challa's assumed situational IQ. It also illustrates how western society views some African nations. Wakanda had portrayed itself to be like what many assume Africa is like. However, as many people find out in the movie, wakanda is most advanced nation in the world with an intelligent royal family.
Chadwick Boseman in Civil War Captures The Same Type of Character of T’challa From the Show Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes. Calmly Intelligent, Pragmatic, Moral Compass, Regal, Nobility and Facetious.
LOL I love how Nat tried to play him like she did Loki and those thugs beating her. Nat is so smart she can milk intelligence without anyone knowing. T'Challa was like "Knock that CIA mess off."
_"Death is not the end. It's more of a stepping-off point. You reach out with both hands... and Bast and Sekhmet, they lead you into the green veldt... where you can run forever."_ _-T'Challa - _*_The Black Panther_* *_REST IN PEACE, MY KING._*
I think this is more about Natasha having hope with the us law, they proved her wrong by handing Bucky over to his death without any chance to defend himself.
I also wish that had been in the movie. At times Natasha comes across as know it all, but on these levels of politics, she is a nothing. The King of Wakanda answers to no one and if General Ross wants to push it...well, to borrow a line: "I feel a great swell of pity of those who come to Wakanda looking for trouble. "
Called Sovereign immunity (much more board than diplomatic immunity, as diplomats represent states or nation and can only be prosecuted if the head of state or parliaments allow this to happen) Head of state, hence why Widow's argument that Black Panther's comes under the accords' jurisdiction is totally BS, for all her talents BP made her look like a dumbass in this scene.
Widow: You realize this puts you under the accords too, right? Me: He is the king of his own country and he's not an Avenger (yet). He doesn't have to do SQUAT for the accords!
Well the accords are supposed to supercede each country authority. That's why they were having that meeting. So technically he'd be under it. But you're right having your own country makes it a hell of a lot easier to get away with what you do
Which help explains why he has no fear at all that someone will try to take Bucky. Legally, nobody can do anything. And if another country tries to send in an unsanctioned operations unit to get it done ... they'll learn about Wakanda the hard way.
Bombing the meeting hit multiple countries. That Wakanda which is considered 3rd world(hint it's not at all but far more advanced then the US) got the bomber. That seriously would not happen but it did. It shows Natasha has no idea who she's dealing with. I think they just cut it for time as it is a complete scene.
When we watch these blockbuster movies in our generation, we expect these actors to stay with us and age with us; Chadwick Boseman was no exception. We miss you king. I can't believe its almost been three months since you passed. Life goes on, Marvel continues, but our hearts are forever shattered. And even when Black Panther 2 comes out, no one can ever replace our first King T'Challa.
Still hard to believe Chadwick has gone. Such bitter irony that he became one of the most powerful Hero’s of the big screen only to be blighted by cancer. Rest easy Mr Boseman 🙏🙏
I loved this version of tchalla more than the one in black panther. I feel like they minimized his intelligence and made him less powerful for the sake of the plot in BP. In the comic books this man is known for decapitating his enemies and I feel like he had more of that intimidating energy in civil war which I liked.
I think when you're in your home country you're more relaxed than when you're outside the country. Moreover, Anger and revenge was what drove him to become this mean but after learning the truth about who joined his father he let go which was the scene where he stopped zemo from killing himself.
I get the change. In Civil War T'Challa learned a valuable lesson about jumping to judgment. As for Shuri making her the tech genius I think was a move more suited for the MCU itself. In the comics Shuri is sorcery focused. A different kind of genius. But the MCU always tried to ground even their magic in a more scientific or logical aspect. Also T'Challa was shown to be very smart having designed his own suit, just that Shuri is much smarter and dedicated to it.
Pretty much it is a black people thing as well. My experience in the US showed me the African Americans can be ignorantly condescending when trying to show off about matters they believe they know more about
As if being a king somehow automatically stops you from being naive? Especially when he's king of a country that has no interactions with any other countries. I'm sure we can all think of various heads of state that were naive.
Well, Wakanda has been isolated for years, he just became king, he's not thinking rationally because of the murder of his father by a largely innocent person whom he currently wants to hunt down and kill, he actually tells her that politics isn't his thing earlier, and he did just get himself put in jail. To those of you who think Natasha is condescending to T'Challa because of race, she did give similar advice to Steve since he happens to be the naivest politician on the planet but simply delivered it in a softer way since he's her close friend and she didn't want anything from him.
Man, King T'challa is so badass, probably one of the most powerful men on the planet if not the most powerful if you consider the resources and technology at his disposal.
Every word from this guy's mouth as Black Panther shows how perfect the casting is. Need to see more of him before I can say it is the best. With Chris Evans and RDJ it is tough competition.
RDJ is the standard. Chris Evans can't even emote. He's good at being stoic, a being comfortably stiff. But he is rarely asked to deliver clear emotion on film.
I can see why the scene was cut. It completely undermines the importance of the accords, and makes T'Challa less of a relatable character. When we are introduced to him, we see him as a man who is looking for revenge, realizes the destructive path it is bringing him towards and learns that the world is not as clear-cut as he would like it to be. All this scene does, is down play that. By making him a man who can do whatever the hell he wants, and not have to face any consequences for it, which contradicts the message of this movie: actions have consequences
Or ... it can shed light on Cap's position. So basically an enhanced person who doesn't get to be monarch of his own country basically becomes UN property, whereas a politically powerful enhanced person can do whatever he wants. Illustrating the danger of the accords.
+oatmealboy6 I can only speak for myself, but that concept never occurred to me. Honestly, I wish more of that than was in the movie. It would've helped bona fide caps rebellion
Scoonertuna To be fair, even without this scene we know Bucky is going to be extradited to Wakanda, the country now ruled by the person who tried to kill him. So T’Challa gets what he wants. It’s crazy.
Extradition: the procedure by which a state or nation, upon receipt of a formal request by another state or nation, turns over to that second jurisdiction an individual charged with or convicted of a crime in that jurisdiction.
Everybody says Shuri is smarter and she is... But people be sleeping on T'challa... If people have read the comics...then they know how smart and intuitive he really is...
It's a little ironic that T'Challa says Widow isn't used to the truth, when we find out later he's been lied to his entire life, and never realized it.
ADR and editing can easily fix it. No, no way that would've been the reason. Also, do you really think they only had one single take of this? Seriously, you people have little basic knowledge of film making.
It just didn’t add anything to the film that the audience didn’t already know or that was crucial to this story. Mostly, just establishing that T’Challa is very politically savvy and his suit is made of vibranium. Not very important for Captain America Civil War. Would be established in the Black Panther solo movie.
This scene would've done a great job at explaining how the accord affect up and coming heroes. Seriously, Marvel, for once, take a page from DC, and release a 3-hour cut!!
