Not what I expected.

Hi , I'm in the UK & usually collect pressure lamps , but I do have a couple of chromed Famos 120's with the red centred wick winders & a brass Famos with the art nouveau Famos script in the wick winder all in working order , they're great lamps & I run them with the smaller Aladdin mantles on a homemade carrier made from a cut down disposable butane cannister slipped over the Famos burner . Pity we're not closer as I'd happily swap one for some of those old radioactive Aladdin drape founts you have on the shelf . Bad luck with auction have been stiffed once or twice before too!

I get most of my oil lamps at estate sales here. The last few years has been great at finding them...Aladdins here are very plentiful here but a lot have been gutted like that one. A lot of these estate sale companies still think just because it's an Aladdin (and gutted) it's still worth the big bucks. This past year I have started to buy Aladdins and other oil lamps just for parts, well if the price is right and shades....shades I have to take over to a window or door to make sure no cracks...lighting in these houses are not always great. I did get an Aladdin this weekend that hadn't been messed with, looked like it just came out of the box, $25....not a bad price.

Well, at least you tried. Could you do a video on your favorite flat wick oil lamp? Not a hurricane lamp, but a table or mantle flat wick lamp. I never pay any attention to flat wicks when I shop in antique stores, but maybe you have found one out there that stands out from all the dozens of flat wick lamps seen in antique stores. Thanks.

So glad to see this video. I have that galley and don't Know how to have the chimney sit on it. Maybe it doesn't belong on a burner 23. Perhaps you could give me an idea of the right chimmney? Thanks
