I cant believe how the songfits so well with the story... 'It was not your fault but mine, and it was your heart on the line' comes off far more literal than it seems. Not to mention the stellar animation. the character designs are amazing, and the implementation of their lives is genius, u get tired from the same premise like the color of their eyes sometimes. I can tell that you're getting better with your animations , supremely undderated and definitely deserves more attention

I don't like getting all feelsy over Minecraft stuff, especially when it's not a role play, but this is REALLY GOOD. The little scene where Grian, who owes Scar nothing anymore, still comes back to him, was really good. The relief in Scar's face... you did good, my friend.

I love how you incorporated grian's skin's eyes, and even made them look somewhat natural. They kind of give off a bird-like feel, which matches fanon grian.

oh my god i just realized that the chorus works for both of them, while seeming like it was in the perspective of Grian. of course, Scar's life was on the line because of Grian and that applies for both of Scar's first deaths, but when the final chorus begins it seems like it is Scar is saying it, feeling awful about letting Bdubs kill Grian. especially with "i really f*cked it up this time" it shows that Scar believes he has messed up many things for Grian, including his lives and his allegiances, and this was the thing to push it over the edge. this is why Scar wanted Grian to just kill him without any resistance, as he believed he had already taken so much from Grian that he didn't deserve to steal a win from him.

Scar went from the first death to (kind of) the last death. It’s impressive how long they both held on without losing a life. (Scar on his red life and Grian on his green life)

Just when I thought I’d gotten over how tragic 3rd life was I see this and want to cry again!!😭😭 This was so beautifully done tho!!!!! I can tell you took the time to make each scene really matter and it paid off! This deserves more views how good it is oh my goodness! Now off I go to go cry for the thousand time…🥲

THIS IS LITERALLY FLAWLESSLY DONE- the way you designed the characters especially, I love how you showed Scar with a mark from the creeper explosion to represent the effects it had throughout the series, and Grian’s lost feather changing from red at the end, and how beautifully your expressions are done, especially Grian’s face after Scar betrayed him, and I COULD GO ON FOREVER WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO INFLICT SO MUCH CONFLICTING EMOTIONS ON SOMEONE???

This is such a fitting song to convey Scar and Grian's relationship through third life! You're so talented mate!!!

I never thought I’d feel so much emotion for their relationship in Third Life. Watching the real thing, I was laughing. But watching this made me feel emotional. I loved it! The facial expressions also made this animatic more perfect! And now, they’re back together, soul bound, in Double Life(even if Grian screamed “NO” when he found out they were soul bound). Even if they don’t get along. My dad and I love Mumford and Sons and this is one of my favourite songs. I’m glad others know it. Animation, designs as well as the song are all reasons I absolutely love this animatic.

This is so good! The detail and mention ahhhh! And the moment when Grian loses his first life and Scar looks scared cuz he thinks Grian may leave him because he’s done his service. (I think the fact that I used to listen to this song so much as a little kid made this even better :) )

I spend way too much time on the internet and I watch way too many animations and animatics but this? This is by far one of the BEST ANIMATICS I'VE EVER SEEN!!! The way it shows the Desert Duo's friendship and just the details, the characters, the backgrounds, the song, the way the scenes go with each set of lyrics, just incredible. Millions of people could try and recreate this, the best animators in the world could try, but nobody could make it as well as this. (Not saying any of those animations/animatics would be bad, just that I think this is the best version possible to be made/ have been made. Same for the other animations and animatics I watch and have watched)

ok I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T with this I've seen this video before, and I really liked it for the animation and obvious emotion to a fitting song, but I didn't actually know anything about 3rd life other than having seen a few last life memes and your tightrope animatic. Tonight I binged all of Grian's 3rd life series and as soon as I finished I immediately searched through my history to find this again. Now I know the context and I'm ABSOLUTELY CRYING I JUST. Grian holding out a hand as he swears his first life The two of them just being friends on monopoly mountain Scar kinda awkwardly coming back as a redname bc he wants to still be friends Grian deciding to stick with Scar even though he's yellow and tHEY HUG Scar looking so reluctant at watching Grian and Bdubs fight Grian shooting awake in his secret bunker and being so upset at the betrayal Scar being so guilty he just lowers his head and offers his life THE FIGHT The fact that you don't even see Grian die, you just see the feather change color and you KNOW This video is so beautifully done and now that I understand it I'm crying so much

im watching these all so much after i first saw third life, which i didnt even see till so much after they did it, but gosh. Grian's 3rd life POV was the first thing of his i ever saw, before i saw anything even Hermitcraft related. I knew who next to no one was and learned through the life series (before watching his every hermitcraft video and eventually now watching season 9 from the povs of half the hermits, and watching SL from the povs of like everyone in the life series). But even watching everything I do now, Desert duo will always have a special place in my heart as the first duo I ever experienced watching.

I'm obsessed with the way Scar's nose scar lines up with Grian's ear wing when they hug after reuniting when Grian turns yellow. It's a really cool visual

Theres just the tiniest of details that make it amazing especially the moving clouds in the back ground on how their eyes light up at a grin or sad moment overall amazing also how it’s mixed with my favourite song

SDSKHFSKJ i love this animatic so much.... rant time... as a 3rd life enjoyer since ep 4 this is making my brain go brr and i need to express my thoughts because wow.. LONG COMMENT ALERT LONG COMMENT ALERT first, the talent omfg. and only for 500 views??? you worked so hard on this and its so underrated, like the character expressions, the movement, the scenes picked, the designs in general. how does this have so little views! (now onto the actual stuff about the animatic) the expressions are amazing. whenever the characters were happy, i was happy. when they were being awkward, i felt awkward. this might just be since i consider myself incredibly empathetic (to the point where it more harms than helps) but the way everyone was presented, how everyones expressions were presented, was stellar. i also love that whenever the characters are feeling a particularly strong emotion, they usually have the small colour lines in their eyes (esp whenever bdubs kinda pumps himself up and it does a special type of colour lines which are in the center of his eyes instead of on the side. this also happens when grian confronts scar abt the betrayal, this time in scars eyes.) the little details just.. i love them. they make me feel like this world is alive and living and that time is passing like normal time. for example, at the start, grian has absolutely no facial hair. then, towards the middle, he gets a little stubble. finally at the end he has gained significant stubble. details like this just make the world feel so much more.. real? and like that the events had actual time in between them happening. another detail that i really like; whenever grian dies, it doesnt show him instantly turn to the next colour. his eyes are a mixture of the previous colour and current colour, the current colour slowly bleeding in like blood on a handcloth. same with this little wing ear things. you can tell that grian hasnt.. fully.. well.. died yet. so he still has a bit of that lifeforce left before he dies, but its slowly getting consumed. also the moon being fully overhead during the fight scene between grian and bdubs is a nice touch, as the sun is fully overhead at the start. another detail i enjoy is how the characters slowly gain more and more bandaids and scars (no pun intended) throughout the animatic as they get harmed more. a thing i just noticed while reviewing it to see if i missed anything, is how whenever scar dies to falling, grians weird wing ear things move slightly down. i had to make a section just about the 3 scenes with crying characters in them since. it just. all hit me. when the final shot of grian and scar were looking at each other i just. felt like i had felt how i felt when i saw the actual scene for the first time. even the whole series for the first time. im gonna break down each scene of a character crying. the first one, grian being upset with scar as scar had betrayed him. you could tell that grian did have a slight bit of sorrow deep down, but he expressed anger more. he was tearing up, not because he wanted to, he wanted to be mad at scar, but he had a slight bit of just. melancholy. onto the next part, scar crying. this one was the "happiest" cry from the characters emotions, but it made me feel the worst. scar only wanted grian to succeed at this point, he felt like it was owed to grian because grian helped him so much. he knew that grian wanted to win so he let him. he was slightly sad, obviously, but he was more.. happy... then the rest of the cries. he was finally relieved that grian got his 1 wish. the 1 thing he wanted to do. now to the last shot of crying, grian's second crying scene. this one is by far the one that expresses the most sorrow. he had watched everyone he loved and cared for die around him. all of the people defending him, his closest friends, the ones that would die for him. they are all dead for and because of him. at least grian had scar left, but when grian killed scar. grian felt like he should be accomplished, he got his one goal. winning. but he lost his best friend, the person that was loyal since the beginning. he really wanted to win because. he wanted to win for scar. and in a way, he did. this is. such an amazing animatic and i cant wait to see what you put out next. i knew i knew your art style from somewhere so i checked your channel and apparently ive watched you lmanburg in 5 minutes animatic, which is also amazing. this made me feel something that i havent felt from the 3rd life series in a long time, even though i am an incredibly big fan of it. genuine sorrow. (p.s. SORRY FOR REALLY LONG COMMENT I JUST HAD A LOT OF THOUGHTS ;;) purple represents wealth and royalty, which grian did achieve in a way. but it also represents harmony between opposing forces. which, i guess, he did do in the end. but. he lost, everyone, and everything, to achieve it.

ok but the detail here... you can see Scar looking at Grian, back at the ravine, and at Grian again, which puts so much more meaning behind the scene, and at the race for the no kill pass, Scar looks away, as if he didn't want to see it, probably out of guilt. Amazing work :D

I started tearing up when I saw Grian's betrayed face after Bdubs shot him, then started full out crying at the last scene, this is so well done, it shows other characters but focuses on desert duo, shows their dynamic and the art is just gorgeous, wow.

There are many thoughts I have about this, but one thing I've noticed that I don't think many others have pointed out is the fact that the animatic starts off with Scar only having that one scar on his face that runs under his eye, but after losing his first life to the creeper Grian baited over there's a very large scar on the other side of his face as well as on his torso (and the thing with his eye as well). I love that!
