Btw for yall who dont know why he sold his son. It was because he felt he would have a better life with them since he knew he would have the ten shadows. Plus toji was basically broke so he couldn't raise him well anyway. Its only when he was about to die that he realized that he didnt want megumi to be cursed by the nature of his clan, thats why he told gojo.

漫画では既に言われているけど甚爾はある誓約をしていた五条が死亡または意識能力を喪失した場合恵を禪院家に向い入れ当主とする。と言う誓約だ何も考えてなかったわけではなく甚爾なりに恵の居場所を作る為に動いていただから"禪院じゃねぇのか？"って聞いたんだろう "良かったな"は誓約が発動してなくて新しい恵の居場所ができたんだ。何のしがらみも無い場所にと言う意味が濃縮されているのがわかる

たしかに誉められた生きかたはされてませんが、最後に自分の名付けた子が禪院から解放されたことを知って、五条に託したことが功を奏し、自分の役目を終えたことで自害を迎えた最後に正気を取り戻したシーンも含め、憎めなく、不思議と愛されキャラなのが男からしたら格好いい(こういう生き方がしたいとか言う話ではないです。)

He cared all along, he said he’s not good with guys’ names/cant remember guys’ names very well so thats why he named his son megumi even though it’s a girl’s name
