After watching this I looked up ones around me and number 12 is less then 10 miles away. Soon I'm going to go check it out. Thanks for the motivation homie!
Hey man! Love your videos! I checked for Tree-O-Caches near me and found one! Hitting up the trail today with a friend thats going to teach me some of the basics of SRT climbing while we go get that cache!
Thank you Adam! That is really cool! I just replaced the sign for this Tree-O-Cache today! You can always contact tree stuff and add more Caches too! Have fun and be safe out there
@@CaseySnyder Looks like mine was one of the old bucket ones, beautiful climb of an Oak tree! Ill get a hold of tree stuff to see if I can get a sign to go hang in place of the bucket.
Hey! Could you explain what you did around 5:48 with 'setting a different anchor point'? Did you advance your line? Or just tie in with a long lanyard? Thanks! Oh- and what was the distance on the initial ascent? Looks like a blast. And..... would you recommend the RRP as a 'first' mechanical device for a newer rec climber? I've been climbing on a RAD setup, and love it, but just got a zillon and love everything about the mechanical prussik. Hoping to move towards rope walking, and just wondering what might be the best overall device to go with (strictly for rec climbing). Thank you! Love your videos!
Did a little bit of both! I have a 25' lanyard so I use that to help me advance and reach out where I need too. Then with an SRS system it is really slick to just use the single rope through a natural crotch redirect and set that through where I want to go out and down to. I would honestly wait on the RopeRunner pro until you become more experienced with a Rope Wrench. Then move up to either a Petzl ZigZag with the Chicane (Will run very similarly to a hitch cord & rope wrench). I feel like I am still not fully proficient with the Rope Runner Pro so it's one I like to caution new users on as there's a lot of moving and clipping parts. Climb safe! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Sorry for the slow response! I have the Neat Freak Keeper on my TreeMotion, but that's a harder gadget to find these days. Otherwise a daisy chain or hooking it on a caritool helps keep it out of my way. I'm a short dude so I hate have dragging lanyards!
