I watched this video about a year ago, now I’m back and have a td42 about to turbo this weekend, baby ks with 250,000ks so keen and have worked so hard to finally have this to happen, love the sound of this and hope mine sounds similar.
How'd you get on with your turbo conversion? I did mine about 6 months ago. Initially a bit disappointed with the exhaust note with 3 inch system and muffler. But once I went with a straight through it sounded amazing
@@ryanmurfet226 Agree. It's too quiet with a muffler, but straight through sounds incredible. Now I just need to save up for a bigger injector pump.....10mm just isn't cutting it.
@@addictedtodirt3769 if you ever have heard of the game called mudrunner , ive taken sounds from your video and put it on my mates GQ patrol ingame.. sounds mint haha
JustCallMeSurge yea I love that game, I only have it on Console though unfortunately so I can’t run mods. I imagine it sounds awesome, if you get the time post a spintires video of it, I’d love to hear what it sounds like on that game.
PATRICK LANG no intercooler, the GU Blacktops came out factory with a turbo but no intercooler. Just don’t throw too much fuel or boost down it’s throat and be kind to them, they’re an old engine, if you do that, they’ll last.
LordEthan2 just a 3” straight through mild steel exhaust mate, it’s off eBay. Was a GU exhaust but fits GQ coil cabs too. Also running the eBay spec turbo and manifold kit too, it’s been awesome so far with zero problems.
kim mashoko The engine was original naturally aspirated or non-turbo, all I had to do was bolt the new turbo and manifold on, run a crossover pipe, braise a fitting for the oil return and run an oil feed line from the oil gallery in the engine block to the top of the turbo for cooling. I got the exhaust off eBay and modified it slightly to suit the turbo.
Dirty Diesel Conversions turbo is a TD04 I believe, or a Chinese knock off anyway, I got the kit off eBay for $400 ish AUD, 3” mild steel exhaust from turbo back, and I’ve just wound the pump up a bit, still standard 10mm VE pump. I think it’s on it’s way out so I’ll upgrade to a 11mm or 12mm In the near future.
Jonah Passi I couldn’t tell you to be honest mate. I would recommend paying for a tune, it never ran quite the way I liked it and always wanted to tune it but never did.
