The man was pure talent + charisma, the GOAT. ♥️🔥 Whether solo, or as the leader singer in Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, or Audioslave - it's all amazing! A brilliant lyricist, gifted songwriter, talented multi-instrumentalist, melody king... and of course that incredible voice that could move you like no one else before him, or since. He had a 4+ octave range, with amazing natural technique and a wide range of vocal styles. No matter what he sings, it feels genuine and effortless. I discovered Chris not long ago and it sucks i could've listened to him when he was alive n all but at least we have his legacy in his music. All his music with bands/projects was great, different and there are absolutely bangers but i just love his solo stuff at the end. He did a lot of covers and he made those songs his own version which is always cool. For example the song One, there are 2 versions U2's and Metallica's and he took U2's music and Metallica's lyrics and put that together, i mean who does that??!!! Genius, checknit out if you want. He also has a cover of Led Zeppelin's Thank You, i like that a lot too, a version of Guns N Roses' Patience also incredible and a few other covers. I've gone down the rabbit hole a few times but never enough. R.I.P Chris, never forgotten
He does a great job on this. Prince wrote the song but Sinead O’Connor made it famous. You guy’s should check it out. Chris is pretty much keeping it true to Sineads version. 😊❤
This version is very nice but you have to finish the trilogy. It's not complete without Sinead's version which (my opinion may be biased by the order that I first heard the songs) has better emotional resonance.
The only version of this song that should exist is Sinead's. Cornell lost his chops when Soundgarden ended and nobody can touch the emotional power of her singing it...after all it was written FOR her by Prince
That’s incorrect. Prince wrote this song in 1985 for a funk band called “The Family”, and they recorded it for their only album. Sinead didn’t release this song until 1990.
@@DMKali Cool, def gotta look into it. As far as I've always known and has always been stated he wrote it specifically for her. Pretty sure it came out in highschool too, I was in the navy in '90 but it's been a long time lol. Thanks for info 👍
@@mythiclegend947 and for what’s it’s worth, Chris NEVER lost his “chops”, EVER! Yeah, getting older means the voice doesn’t go nuclear as much, but Chris’s magic was always his ability to connect & make the listener feel every note he sang.
