polletto I have a Dulcimer, I hardly Touch it, since I got into the Ukulele, and I was going to get a Strum Stick, but I think I rather get a Merlin, it would also make a good Birthday or Christmas Present. One Question: That song you were playing was hot, did you play any minor chords? what Minor chords can you play on your Merlin? If I can remember; my Dulcimer is tuned to DAD and I think I can only Play Em (I think)
Well a merlin is almost the same as a strum stick...probably only a bit louder I suppose...about major and minor chords, a metlin is tuned DAD so only 2 notes...I'm not good with music theory but is like power chords in electric guitar so it'the same if you play major or minor D maj is D F# A and Dminor is D F A so...if u play just D and A note no difference between major and minor...I suppose...
polletto Yeah; I remember playing a worship song on my Dulcimer that I normally play on my Guitar; I had to do some adjusting and use some substitution to make it sound right, So I got that. It is possible if you tune them differently. The standard tuning is DADD which is a pretty major, or happy sound. Did you ever end up getting the Merlin?
