Miley is a great singer, she sings whatever genre she wants. I love her voice and this cover is awesome! To me she's still underrated, maybe because she's been in the industry since she was a kid...maybe because of her irreverent personality...I don't know. But I think that's changing since she released her acclaimed album Plastic Hearts, last year.
I agree - in many circles she doesn't get the respect she deserves. Tbh, I typically like her covers better than most of her own music, due to personal musical taste, though some of her stuff is absolutely amazing. Wha impresses me about Miley is that she can truly sing anything, and genre, any style. She is an incredible talent.
@Trevers Reaction her voice was always really deep and raspy ( you can really see that even when she was a kid on Hannah Montana). But you’re right, she said on Joe Rogan that her voice was abused and affected over the years, because of smoking experimenting with really strong drugs at a really young age. But it’s also, like she said, because of performing every night and working approximately 10 hours a day on set when she was only 11. All of these factors also affected her voice in a bad way, and that’s why she had to do a surgery because of her disease (Reinke’s Edema) to “save” her voice... But now that she has matured..., her current sound isn’t going to change anymore.
On one can beat the original - but this is the best cover of the song I ever heard The piano intro to the song is amazing and typical Elton John - the outro is really great and shows why both are so famous Miley Cyrus sounds amazing on the song - and for me she is still underrated - such a great artist and wild woman Next react to 'Juanes - Enter Sandman'...
This cover is amazing, but the live version WITH METALLICA just gives me so much chills. Miley’s and James voices together blend wonderfully. Miley is amazing vocalist and always have such respect for her co-artists and gives her all, you can see it in every live performance she does. Heart of Glass *chef’s kiss* and many more.

I stumbled across Miley singing rock covers last night and I was totally blown away by her fantastic rock voice she should get away from pop and release a rock album I would totally buy it I cannot believe that I'm now a Miley Cyrus fan at age 44 wtf

To me most of the time It's Yo-Yo Ma's cello in the back not the guitar. I guess the cello is post-distorted in the mix. (4:23-4:27 sounds killer) I've never heard something like this, truly....It's unbelievably good produced, and Miley's voice....damn so good !!

Yea, unfortunately a lot of people, especially in the metal community have the mindset that some songs/bands just shouldn’t be touched by anyone. I think she did great!

Wholeheartedly disagree on the low register. Her low register is raspy as fuck, in a Stevie Nicks/Tanya Tucker/Marianne Faithful kinda way. If you dig beneath her top 40 shit, especially anything after she hit her 20s, she's got some hidden gem vocals in her catalogue.

Okay so far all the videos for the Blacklist covers are all very strangely monotone and uneventful. So far Volbeat is the best but I wonder if Metallica is behind the bland videos? As for Miley, I tried giving her a chance but her voice just grated on my nerves. Plus Chris Stapleton's version, blows hers outta the water.
