My jaw dropped when he actually caught the fish. I hadn't seen this part about the Congo River, but at first I thought it was a BS show, I was expecting some half assed effort, I wouldn't have been surprised if aliens came into the picture. Then he actually caught that monster. As well as the fish itself, I was hooked ftom then on.
Jeremy fishes well. He does his research and respects the local people. He sets a goal and targets the best representative of a particular species. Much respect.
No doubt, reminds me of the raging rivers we have here in British Columbia Canada , many souls have been lost due to them underestimating the sheer power and might of a river coming down out of the mountains.
It's fascinating, there are microecosystems all over that river, where unique species can be found depending on which part of the river, how fast/slow the water is, how deep it is. I watched a special show about it. That's also a very deep river, so I'm certain there are many species yet to be discovered.
The Congo River is so FIERCE that only few brave fishermen can fish there. It was unbelievable how the river flow so insane and rough. Catching the Goliath Tigerfish is INDEED challenging.
