don't forget Hera plays random civ, every strategy in the game has it's counters while tournaments pros analyse maps, opponent's picks, viable stratagies for every map and civ so they can counter it, but ladder is different if you know you are playing against Hoang and you want to just over-pick him full walls mongols fast fc should win with crazy winrate some civs just lack any option to respond Hoang
i mean in normal game you also pretty much "know whats coming" according to all the scout info ( if you are playing vhs games) but still you sometimes lose. not because opponent's stategy had no counter
@@natsukashii_ne Pick mongols, get to feudal faster, build market first and get all the good prices so he gets worse rates, beat him to castle as well, then bury his eco with cav archers? Sounds like a plan.
@@danyimedia5727 The most important build orders are a good fast castle, and maybe like 20-22 pop scout or 22-24 pop archer builds. If you get those decent so you can smack down a range/stable in feudal and instantly produce you should improve your elo a lot.
Quite difficult: celts have also a wood bonus to help rush those units out. Not sure if Market alone would be enough to compensate all those advantages.
He rushes up a market, sells all stone, and as you saw had like 10 vills on gold, buying food quickly. Celt work amazing here so you can afford all the buildings.
And ofc, he only builds like 3-4 farms when clicking up, and stops creating vills in castle age. He has no armor on the knights, since they don't need to tank any TC fire. Having the rest on wood and gold, so he can create scorpions and rams to handle the archers and TC.
Malians watching their own eco bonus being stripped from them, upgraded, and given to a civ that already benefits even more from heavy stone/gold income. feels bad man
Is it even worth trying to harass Hoang? If you mass archers and keep scout alive while having your units Patrol around should be enough right? Especially if you kill his siege workshop vils
Yeah problem is if he gets the workshop up, he will obliterate your mass archers with a couple of scorpions. Immense scouting and evaluating whether or not it would be worth to put in feudal pressure is key. Also kicking out on what civ you get.
@@edwardblom2661 now that I think about it why not dark age rush or men at arms rush? It's probably the most solid early pressure you can get right? I guess 19 pop archers for a few archers is also an option
About the scout war - You were player 2 while he was player 1. Player 1 always wins over any other player in scout war if they both attack at the same time.
I don't understand why you're not building towers. You said they don't matter but at the end you still got 200 stone in the bank. It wouldn't do much but I think you need every little thing you can gather to stop Hoang no ? Also using all scouts to find the villagers doing the forward siege seems like a good idea on paper.
You were going to lose that scout fight, it had nothing to do with luck. You were player 2. If both units attack at the same time, lower player number has the advantage. Only way to win that is get a hit in somehow before the enemy can react.
