Hola. No tengo conocimientos de arquitectura, pero si soy aficionado a leer. En un reciente viaje a Portugal encontré en una librería de segunda mano, un libro en castellano "La ciudad y los locos" de Michel Bataille, que además de escritor, fue un arquitecto que llegó a compartir proyectos con Le Corbusier. Eso al menos dice la Wikipedia que es la que me ha llevado a este edificio que parece el mismo que se describe en la novela como obra de Victorien Sauvage y localizada en Ribancourt. En la novela describe un tejado de hormigón similar a un navío, su espacio que permite pasar la luz entre el tejado y las paredes, las dos capillas laterales semicirculares, todo excepto la pared llena de ventanas de diversos tamaños utilizada a modo de vidrieras. Supongo que se basó en ella para escribir el libro. Un saludo.
Muy interesantes. No hemos tenido el placer de leer la novela que mencionas, pero sin lugar a dudas Notre Dame du Haut es un edificio unico e impactante que seguramente habrá inspirado a mucha de la gente que lo ha visitado. Gracias por compartirlo! :)
Thank you so much for this video. I'm currently studying for my final exams which will allow me to go to college and one of the exams is about art (I chose it myself). We have like 30 great artworks (paintings, sculptures and buildings), that span from antiquity to modernity and one of those is this incredible building. La verdad es que lo desconozco. Seguramente el cliente dió algún tipo de indicación, pero dudo mucho que jamás se imaginaran un edificio como el que terminó siendo. A priori no parece que Le Corbusier se haya encontrado con muchas restricciones.

Not sure I completely understand your question, but sure, the south wall is definitely all about the light that comes in through the tinted windows, and the way in which the walls “fold” to create the secondary altars is a very clever way of creating more private spaces without the need for doors or other kind of divisions.

Although we were obviously not allowed on the roof during our visit you might still find some photos that can help you better understand the building.
