Nottingham Forest completed the transfer window with deals to sign James Ward-Prowse on loan and Benfica defender Morata for around £15m. They also loaned out Matt Turner and Josh Bowler and sold Alex Mighten, but there was no striker incoming.
Matt Davies was joined by Lewis McGugan, Michael Temple and Simon Fotheringham for the final hour of the window, plus about 20 minutes. This video was the final 35 minutes or so of our live stream as we take stock of what happened over the course of the summer. #NFFC

Lewis nailed it We’ve had a great window and now it’s all about being positive and supporting the team. Let’s “enjoy the ride” up the Prem. Re the lack of a new Striker IF T or Wood become unavailable I’d have no problem with seeing MGW and Jota up front. Thanks for putting this show together Matt. #COYR

Strikers don’t have the confidence to come on and make the shirt their own, that’s why they have t come. Next time, better strikers will want to come cos they’ll see where we’re going…

I agree with you both, Glenn and Michael, we did need another striker as if neither are fit which is quite possible at some point this season, then who do we play in that position? Memphis De Pay could be a good free signing though as hadn't realised he was available, as could Anthony Martial possibly the latter though is slightly less proven at this level tbh!

JWP we have to remember was part of a Southampton side that got relegated Whist I agree his free kicks and deliveries are very good - he definitely needs to add more that that in order to hold down a Midfield place - I’m not 100% we needed him, but happy to be proved wrong I’d like to see him be a lot more effective than just free kicks and deliveries 👍🏼

Got to agree this transfer window has been productive with the Quality we’ve brought in . But it concerns me why we couldn’t get one of the strikers that was heavily link to us to sign .

We all know awoniyi is a good player when fully fit, so if we got a striker in we could of used awoniyi in the reserves to get fully fit and game time he needs. For me it's a big risk expecting awoniyi to find his form and fitness in Premier league games, I can understand it if we are a few goals up with 15 20 mins to go then bring him on. But how many games in this league is that gona happen with us being 2 or 3 goals ahead? Apart from that still a good transfer window

Disappointing not to get a striker over the line but I fully expect Jota Silva to play there if needed. All other signings seem to be great business. Looking to put together a real squad!

That's true Temps, Ward-Prowse only needs to score 2 more goals to go top of the dead ball goals list above Beckham and just 1 to catch up with Becks! 8 out of 10 for me because of the lack of a striker and missing out on Kelleher as I think he would be perfect for us for many a year to come if we could maybe go for him in January!

Btw, apparently we are 1st for shots with 37, equal with Liverpool and Shots on target we are on our own in 1st place with 16 after just the 2 games which is unbelievable for us compared to our last 2 seasons, just sadly only got 2 goals though from all those shots which is a poor return!

Might not even have needed a striker if Jota can cover there. MGW 4th option too. Buying Morato suggests to me we could be aiming for 5atb like we played in the cup - looked very dangerous in that shape!

Could we not have gone in late for like an Antonio on loan to cover for the 2 lads (Wood & Awoniyi)? Would have given us time (another window or 2) to get the striker we really want. To all the people slating Taiwo... cop on, he always takes time to get back to his best after an injury layoff but once he's fully firing (and he will again soon) he's unplayable. The man kept us in the Prem first season back and started off like a train last season until injury hit him again. I have faith in Taiwo and really hope he gets a long injury free run this season. As Mourinho said... "Respect!! Respect!!"

26 games 6 goals, 33 games 5 goals have to go back to 21/22 since he last got 10 goals and has never got more than that. 34 years old. Will be wanting a fair wedge. Why do fools keep touting antonio???? He's never been prolific, is injury prone. Why not get silenzi back ffs

Sorry I missed you last night, but I agree with Fothers about Nketiah as that was gutting, I just think he wanted to stay in the Big Smoke though rather than coming out to the hinterland, the wild North! We have had a fantastic transfer window this summer, especially Ward-Prowse as a stellar loan signing and Ramón Sosa and Jota Silva both looked excellent on Wednesday against Newcastle! Also the defensive signings of Milenkovic and Morato along with the youngster Da Silva Moreira who looks very promising. The 2 positions I would have liked to see someone else come in is up front and in goal. Sels is decent but would love to have got Kelleher in as he is a fantastic keeper!
