Nouman Ali Khan - Story of the People of the Cave (Surah Al-Kahf) 

Hearing this makes me SO HAPPY. In this time, surah al-kahf makes SO much more sense to me. It is so clear.. It gave me the push in the direction when asked for guidance. SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi. JazakAllah khairan, brother.

Quran asks mankind to ponder! Question! Put Quran to test! Let's give a favor to ourselves, every man for himself, by pondering over Quran! "Afala yatadabbarun alquran?" then they do not reflect upon the Quran? "amm ala qoolubin aqqfaluuha?" or are there locks upon their hearts?[Chapter Muhammad : 24] [He misleads many thereby and guides many thereby. And He misleads not except the defiantly disobedient] Al-Quran - Translation - Chapter Al-Baqara: Verse 46.

There were many points, one of the best point in it is that if you're surrounded by fitna and you feel uneasy and confused of what to do, seek protection from Allah and Allah will protect you and guide you.

Even Sura Baqarah is called like this because of the people who asked: wich colour shall be the cow? Wich size? And they even complicated their life more for no reason

One of the lessons about this story is"dont argue over irelevlant things,whether its 309 or 300 years,they had a dog or not,they were 3 or 4,doesnt change the story,brother and sister here,lets pay attention to why the story is been told..Salam

Something I noticed, was that when Allah said in the same ayah that these people slept for 309 years. Now this is a very specific number. When it came to the number of the people in that cave, he gave a variety of the number of the people. This makes the statement Allah (swt) made, even more clear. The number doesn’t matter for you to understand the lesson. So knowing details of the stories from the Quran, won’t get us anywhere, the lesson is the important thing.

Asalam o Alaikom Dear Brother Nouman Ali, something came in my mind while listening your Bayyan, which is, why we called these are stories or Quran Kareem is full of stories? Or “Story” word make non muslims confused enough..I think the better word we should use is “Incidents” which were happened earlier and that all incidents are the lessons for all of use, those who read the Quran and also for those who refer Quran for other to the people(Non Muslims) to read and understand the Quran.So i dont think so to say “Quran is full of a story book”. Always nervous of 3alims that are this popular without them being attacked by the media. And I havent seen anybody as popular as Nouman Ali Khan since Anwar Al Awlaki; but he was constantly attacked by the media and enemies of islam, which was pretty encouraging to see since it showed what he was saying was the truth. Allah please guide us with the truth of what he says and if there is any falseness please strike it from our minds and hearing, aameen.

No, he is not wrong. If you don't understand the wisdom behind it then you are wrong. If you are concerned about prayer ya Ukhti, then ask about its timing at your location. No random conversations and chat (that's the point here). I guess we are quick to get our own and kick them when they are down (on top of that). We should grow up.

Every single human being that ever died since the time of prophet Adam until this present time their soul are in the barzakh, a world between this worldly life and the hereafter, or the eternal life whether we go jannah or jahannam

MashaAllah. Even I used to know that people were six and the seventh were dog. May Allah (swt) forgive me for being that ignorant. May Allah (swt) gives bro nouman rewards for this. Btw why people are so judgemental about scholars? Mannnn......aren't we suppose to learn our deen and act according to it rather referring one scholar to another or finding fault in them? If the scholars are wrong we still have Quran and Sunnah which will save us if we follow properly.

Allah is the Saviour, the Preserver and will bring us back to life on the Day of Judgement.

God gave the book Torah to The Jews, the gospels to Jesus (pbuh)., the stories in detail were cover in these previous books. Allah gave the Quran as the last and final revelation . Which summed up everything, therefore God was direct .. We are suppose to believe in all the books given by God. The only reason we have a problem is for the fact Man has changed the word or hidden parts.. Jesus told us to worship God but man turned around and worshipped ..

Alhamdulillah...soooper khutbah...23:50 has pearls of wisdom (in summary), that every muslim needs to ponder over everytime we recite Surah al-kahf...

The 1st step to convert to Islam is saying the Shahada (bearing witness): So start by Saying Shahada in arabic : "Ash hadu anlaa ilaaha illAllah, wa Ash hadu anna Muhammadu rasool ullah." What you said is the gist of what Nouman has said in the khutbah. You slightly missed his point. There are relevant and irrelevant questions. The "north-pole" question a valid question but it is ONLY relevant for people living at the North pole. Another obvious example is youth debating whether zebra is halal or haram. That can be a valid question, but it is only relevant to those living in the forest, for the city people that question is irrelevant. I hope this clarifies Nouman's point.

Yes you are right we follow the Quran first of all, if we can't find the solution, we go to the sunnah. if we don't find the solution we go to the scholars and we choose that which is closer to quran and sunnah and which is easier :) but unfortunately many people have stuck to only one scholar without even verifying the quran and sunnah.:(

It made me think about how people argue over if prophet eisa Alayhi salam wa dark skinned or brown skin with puffy hair with (aka “black” but I don’t like to use that term) and Allah does not make mention of his look in that way in Quran so that’s not something to focus or argue over either because even if he is what they are trying to prove is not sincerely for Allah pleasure but to be more divisive amongst each other

So he only spoke about them for like 5 mins and then gave lecture on stop asking stupid question….. the title should be stop asking stupid questions not “story of people being f cave”

سؤال يتعلق بسورة الكهف : لما إلتقى النبي موسى، عليه السلام، بالرجل الحكيم المدعوِ ِخدرُ حسب بعض التفاسير، تنبأ خدرُ بأن طفل سيكون بلاء على والديه الصالحين فقتله عسى أن يرزق الله الوالدين بإبن آصلح. فهل خدرُ كان يعلم الغيب؟ أم هناك تفسير آخر لهذه القصة؟

There's no lesson from the surah here. It's just a tangent to not focus on unimportant details.
