Is it an illusion or Team Ineos Grenadier has only two riders in the mountain bike World Cup, they are both World champions and just won the women’s and men’s events… 100% hit rate. And they look favourites to win the Olympics.

Would love to see it but COVID and some injuries derailed her I think and she hasn’t been the same since. Also Once you creep into your late 20s you have to be freakishly talented like Pauline/Nino or be absolutely willing to do anything to win and I feel like it’s seems common for 22-24 y/o riders be consistently competitive for podium and start to loose a step each year. Don’t get me wrong, still world class athlete and probably works her butt off but a 8+ year run as an elite level UCI XCO contender is not the norm.
