Tom said they made this song to prove to Main Stream artist that they can make a auto tuned track and still have good content to it. Instead of most Mainstream artists who auto tune everything and talk about nothing

Nova essentially grew up in Negril, Jamaica between the ages of 3 and 14. Sometimes her rhyme schemes use a British/Jamaican inflection (British because of the obvious influence on Jamaican pronunciation of English) which muddies her Canadian accent.

Notice how at the last chorus when tom says "rollin with some bad dudes" Him and nova point at madchild. Madchilds a legend in my homecity of vancouver (vancity) especially eastvan. He rolled with alot of bad bad dudes too. Hells angels and mexican mafia connections. He was banned from the entire country of the USA for 4 years and was on gangsquads list. Gangsquad basically a gang task force implemented in canada.

You should check out madchild his song called leave a light on. He was also in s group called swollen members they have a bunch of great songs concerto, Kyla , and Put me on. Are a few good ones. Def Jams tried turning Nova into something she didnt wanna be. I despise them for that because Nova is so dope of an artist. She is REAL. Thats something all these main stream so called artist know nothing about these days. Her song Wishing Well is directed towards the label its a dope song. Dear Nova is another great one

Haha I'm already trying to guess what threw you off about her voice and this hasn't premiered yet. I'm thinking it's how deep her voice is on her part. Cause that threw me off too. Man, I made some terrible life decisions in my youth and had to make calls like this to my parents, my mom was so disappointed in me and I lost her before she could ever see me succeed. I’ve completely turned it around in the past 15 years but I wish she knew it. If y’all need help, find someone to listen and to help you, it can save your life.
