I have a Nova Saturn which is pretty much a short bed version of the Galaxy and have had it for over 10 years. Love it and it spins almost every day and is still as silky smooth and quiet as brand new. Love the swivel head feature! I'm sold on Nova lathes! Enjoy your new toy
The first time you did the speed-up effect, I was thinking by the sound "What is that guy doing??? That blank is going to be orbiting the moon!" Pretty funny!
Nice job! I didn’t see you using the two templates that woodcut supplies the drawings for! They also have a woodcut laser attachment that guarantees a perfect cut!!! You are doing it correctly in regard to the tenon!!
Hello Henry! Great video, simpke and no fussy about it, the real thing, I love it. Question? How do you rated thir custumwr service, If you had any need to contact them. Also warrantee! Thank you, and keep turning!🕊
@mrPauljacob Yes, I do occasionally rotate the headstock out to hollow the inside of a bowl (makes it a little easier instead of leaning over the lathe bed) no, I don't have the outboard attachment. I still like the lathe as much as I did when I got it almost two years ago. Plenty of power (plugged into a 220 outlet) Being able to go from 50 - 4000 rpm without changing a belt or losing power is absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend the Nebula! Thanks for watching, and happy turning 😊
Thanks for posting your video! I am quite interested in getting one myself… but have some questions I wonder if you might address. First, do you have any input on the play/ reset ability of the tail stock. I have a small nova comet ii that I find to be completely variable when reengaging the tail stock… I’m never sure if it is in the same orientation related to the drive end. I realize the nebula is a different class of machine and hope that this is not a problem. Secondly, do you find that the tool rest securing bolt puts divots in the tool rest shaft? Other brands have implemented a wedge or band clamp style that does not mar this part, but it looks like the nova still has the bolt screwing directly into the shaft. Thanks for any input you can provide, as the specs of the lathe are intriguing.
Thank you for watching, and thank you for the questions. I'm happy to answer questions about the lathe as I have absolutely no regrets about buying this model. I haven't had any issues with the tail stock alignment/realignment. Since it has a rotating headstock, they provide an alignment tool, which makes it really nice to realign the headstock after you rotate it out to turn the inside of bowls and vessels. As for the tool rest bolt. Yes, that bolt threads directly into the post, which I haven't noticed any divets in my tool posts yet. I use the factory tool rest as well as a Robust curved tool rest. Hopefully this is helpful, and best wishes with the new purchase.
Hi Henry. I also have that coring system and thinking about the Nebula. After a year do you still like it and are there things you would change? Also how long did it take to come after your order and how is customer service if you’ve needed it? Thanks. Subscribed.
Thank you for watching. After a year of turning on this lathe, I still like it as much as I did at first! It is a fantastic lathe and I wouldn't change anything. I bought mine online from Spiracraft. Bradley McCalister from Spiracraft is fantastic to work with! It took 2 - 3 months for mine to come in after I ordered it, only because mine was off the very first shipment to the US, and then it was dropped shipped directly to my house. Thanks again, and enjoy the new lathe once you get it 😉
Congrats on the new lathe! After a year of turning on this lathe, I have absolutely no regrets about buying it. Thanks for watching. Here's the faceshield I use Uvex-Bionic from Amazon
@woodturningwithhenry Thank you. I'm looking forward to getting it going. Renting a lift table Monday to get the headstock onto the bed. It must weigh 200 pounds, which is a good thing. Ordered the Uvex and received it today. Thanks for the quick reply. Keep up the good work.
