This is a amazing review and deserves way more views! I mean the stuff I post doesn't deserve more views than this. It took forever to find a review on how to connect to Xbox keep this up!
Nice review. I had a question. I got the nova 7x. I'm trying to get sonar pre-sets for certain games so I can hook my headset up and use sonar game Presets on my Xbox x. But only thing I use on xbox is Dolby. Amy idea? Also I see that u need the Gen 2 dac. To get what I'm asking. But even on the DAC. It's nothing like sonar. Plus is it even worth spending 120$ for it?
by the waythe pc too ps4 and ps5 headset work on xbox series consoles and any xbox because if you hook it up through your pc line in port or your mic port i use my elgato wave 3 it going though my line in on the doc through my headphone port in my mic the wave 3 this whole you need a xbox version for all consoles you dont . also for party chat i just discord or the xbox app for party chat on my pc
Hey I brought the highs 8k-16k down by 1-2 db and raised the base by 4-5db, it really brings the rumble of the Dolby on Xbox and I can keep it around 90-95%. Footsteps and immersion is amazing in COD MW2 and Cold War. In BF2042 I prefer the sound of the G6 with optical extractor, maybe 3d audio needs to be implemented better for that. I just wish the gamedac worked the same on Xbox with H6pro for some reason there’s alot less volume and it kinda feels off. I think the problem is Xbox side and not the gamedac.
Hi, nice review. I have two questions. 1. Is the Gamedac powerful enough to drive 250 Ohm headphones? 2. Which HDMI 2.1 audio extractor with SPDF would you recommend for connecting my G5 to the Xbox Series X?
Hey bro thanks for the sub, really means a lot. So myself personally love the open back design, closed backs kinda make a lot of pressure for me, saying that I found nova to be actually kinda ok for some time, still the open back I can easily game for some time. Epos touts this brain adapt technology, where it’s supposed to pin point where the sound is coming from. I personally think it’s just the angle of the drivers, and the materials they are using for acoustic sleeving. Also I think the earpads on the H6open are firm for a reason, as they keep the drivers to a certain distance from the ear. Personally I found the H6 open to give me more awareness of what’s happening and the sound distance accuracy felt better. I think it’s because of the personal preference tbh. Safe to say either of these headset will give you an edge for sure.
Have you tested the new update bringing Sonar Eq to console on Ps5 and the new presets added yet? I’m considering buying the Game Gen Dac 2 for Ps5 it would be cool if you could make a follow update video testing Sonar Eq on Ps5!
Hey I tried to make the 3d audio like Dolby on Xbox. 31hz to +3.5db, 62hz to +5.5db,125hz to+4.0db,250hz to+ 1.0db,1k to+1.0,2k to+1.0db. This was for h6pro and made the audio very much like the Dolby on Xbox, hope this helps.
Is it true this headset has weak bass settings? Some reviewer said you don’t buy Steelseries headsets for the bass? I’m not sure exactly what bass is primarily used for as I’m not an audio fanatic. Some people say it allows for much better footstep tracking?
Ok I'm confused! I have the Xbox version Nova Pro Wireless because it works with both my Series X and PS5. It came with the DAC 1 and now there is a DAC 2!? Does the upgraded version work with PC, Xbox, and PS5 as well and does it work with wireless or need to be plugged in to the headset like it shows on the Steel Series site? Are Steel Series offering a discount for trading in my old DAC for the upgraded one because I don't think the DAC 1 will resale for much if the DAC 2 is 70 some % better lol. Last but not least would it not be possible to release an IOS/Android app to control the DAC? I sit a ways away from my consoles and getting up to see what the DAC preset says while controlling it from my headphones seems a bit ridiculous
Oh man h6pro is my favourite headset, but that’s because I personally love the open back designs. This though has a lot more features and can give you truly amazing experience. I honestly wish they’d sell the headset on its own without the gamedac. Gsx300 kinda works on PS5 but doesn’t give the amount of volume I personally would like from the H6pro. I did a lot of test and really liked the H6pro on the gamedac gen 2 but only on PS5, somehow Xbox with H6 on the dac wasn’t a very good experience. Solely for PS5, if you don’t mind closed back headset, then nova would definitely be the better option. H6pro will either need the gamedac gen2 or creative G6 on PS5.
