As a fellow resident of nova scotia, I must say this was super fun to watch and see places I have literally been before, like advocate harbor and port morien and halifax. Job well done with all the rural locations haha. Also I would recommend visiting here, especially the highlands park. People are super nice and friendly as well and halifax is a good city.
I’ve been to Nova Scotia a few years ago for approximately 10 days, most of them split between Halifax and Cape Breton. It was beautiful especially the town of Lunenburg, the waterfront in Halifax, Cabot trail on cape Breton’s island and the forteresse of Louisbourg. It is my second favourite province in all of Canada just after my home province of Quebec
Right near South Ohio, there was also a town named Dayton. Speaking of two Brooklyns, I also found out there are two Ohio's in Nova Scotia. There's another one near Antigonish.
Lunenburg is a very cute and colourful town. The sailboat on the Canadian dime is usually docked there. Also, the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island is a road trip that everyone visiting Atlantic Canada must do!
I just found this video now, I’ve watched your Canadian content before but I just found this one lol, im born and raised in the northern part of Nova Scotia, I’ve lived here my whole life
My home province, I’ve been waiting for this one! It’s deceptively hard in GeoGuessr with so many small named places. I had to grind hard to make it to near the top of the leaderboard before this video haha. Places to check out should definitely include (essentially my hometown) Annapolis Royal, claimed to be the oldest permanent settlement in North America (1604, a few other places also claim this though). Theres a really cool fort, part of the old settlement, the first tidal generating plant in North America, and the largest outdoor farmers market in NS. Of course, there are also the world famous record tides there too. That stretch also has a lot of the Acadian history which is fascinating, and there is still quite a bit of French there. The time to go is summer when things are going on. Natal day in August is also a good one with lots of festivals and events.
Not-so-fun fact, Fort Needham has a huge memorial for the Halifax explosion in WWI that wiped out like a third of the city, as well as neighbouring communities due to the resulting tsunami.
I'm also a fellow Nova Scotianer, or Bluenoser is what we are referred to as well. The first location is like a 30 second drive from where I work. It's always funny when "come from aways" try pronouncing our place names. You did well, but Merigomish is pronounced more like "Mur-RIGGUH-mish". Be lucky you didn't land in Tatamagouche, Musquodoboit, Shubenacadie, Antigonish, or Kejimkujik. We have funny ones too, Ohio is one. But did you know there's also a Denver, Aspen, and even a Garden of Eden in Nova Scotia!
im from nova scotia. its a very beautiful place, feels secluded. very old architecture, and unless you live in halifax there are not many things to do.
@ChicagoGeographer If you like cool nature places Nova Scotia is awesome. There’s endless scenic coastlines everywhere, the Annapolis valley where I’m from has really cool dykes hand made by Acadians hundreds of years ago (they have some very interesting albeit tragic history here) and places like cape split and the lookoff are amazing, just outside of Halifax are many cool places, Peggy’s cove being the most famous; the highlands in cape Breton are around the end of the Appalachian mountain line and have probably hundreds of gorgeous trails. Kejimkujik is also super beautiful and huge and has cool petroglyphs made my indigenous mi’kmaw people many many years ago and they also have endangered turtles that are adorable. The people are also really friendly here, we have lots of awesome food, cool music festivals in the summer, Halifax is a really lovely city. I really love it here and I know most people here do as well ❤ Lemme know if you ever wanna tour! 😉
Someone should make a Geoguessr map of some of those locations, including "Bible Hill Estates" near Truro, which is where they filmed a lot of it. Sadly, the street view coverage does not actually go into the trailer park itself. But, someone did add a Sunnyvale POI in Google maps.
I live in Nova Scotia! Channel content for proof! There's actually 3 Brooklyns at least 😂 If you go back to my geoguessr content, I also created a map for NS. Love your content CG! Always go toward the churches in NS. If you ever come here, hmu I'd be so happy to show you my homeland!
I'm in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia is beautiful though. Surprised you didn't know what Mahone Bay was. Its the location of the famous Oak Island. Hope to see you do some New Brunswick at some point.
