Hey, ive surfed youtube before making this nova sorc and I keep coming back to your channel, great work! my setup was a copy and paste of yours and now im running a -100 light res setup with griffons -25 infinity -55 and a 4 soc armor with -20 with facets, 20fcr amulet 2 sor skills 2 10fcr rings with 75 mana poison res 25, current level 91 mana at 2100 with my setup and and 3000 with yours. I have had zero issues doing ubers finished like 7; super easy and dont die, my smiter cant even do that lol. Anyway take care good luck and keep it up!
This is pretty much how you build nova sorc tho, jus happens that they can take on ubers too. While not very effective, at least u can key farm and torch farm with the same hero
Nice vid :) Do you have a god awful hard time with burning souls with this build? I wanna try maxing out my light resists to 75% and wearing a wisp or thunder gods belt while running Baal at p8. Apparently it is the only solution :(
There is no issue with P8 Baal other than maybe the blood mana curse for Baal himself. But I honestly just ignore it. You can kill souls fast enough that they don’t matter. I’m sure I have a P8 video of baal.
I leveled this char through charged bolt. Nova is okay but very mana intensive. So until you get insight on the Merc it’s rough. I added FO right when starting hell.
@@smalps-gaming i did lvl up with nova this ladder but was crazy mana intensive indeed lol had to use 2 tir in body and 2 tir in helm until insight / lore etc lol, farming high density areas to lvl up.. it kinda worked

Great build and smooth gameplay, I was only able to start the new ladder now so I was trying a meteorb sorc to farm for gear (currently lvl 76) but has been a pain to do so in hell even on P1, what build you would advise for a budget friendly farming ladder char for this current season? (considering I have some mid runes up to mal/gul/ist and a couple of sunder charms - light/cold)
You could go nova then, you could make a CM version of the build with budget gear. Cold sorc blizz/orb is still very good and doesn’t require much gear to level up. My favorite leveling build for sorc is CLFO though.
@@smalps-gaming Will try that then, my biggest problem with those guide builds and all is the skiller charms, they are not as easy to come by and without them the damage output is usually quite low but thanks for the fast reply and keep up with the vids, top level content!
@@gamacielcorrea Cold is pretty good out the gate because of Cold Mastery so that is always a good one, but yea skillers really are a power jump. But there are some quick ways to build those up too! Cheers thank you!
@@smalps-gaming Update, got a Shako, CM, Spirit/lidless wall, magefist, waterwalk, glooms trap, vipermagi, +3 light amy, manald and some mana ring, crack of heavens charm, one +1light charm, some resist charms, my level is 80, resists are -20 and light resist -60, all good playing P1 until act 4 where the damage is just too low, takes like 5-10 seconds to kill most easy mobs and those gloam ghosts insta kill me with that lightning damage, what should I do? Farm act 3 trying to find skill charms, fawcets, griffons + runes for infinity and level up? Or is my setup wrong somehow? (sorry about the grammar mistakes, English is not my 1st language)
@@gamacielcorrea What build are you doing? I think hybrid builds are good for leveling like this because otherwise you will be stuck. If you commit to one element and use the sunder, your res will be shot early game. You could use a memory staff to boost your ES if you are low.
Its not. You just need the merc to survive. Lawbringer is a good alternative. It will cast decrep which helps to keep the merc alive by slowing and reducing their dmg. Pretty easy runes to get.
TK is a synergy to Energy shield. The 20 hard points into it reduce the amount of mana that is consumed by the dmg you take. Without making points in TK, each hit you take that goes to mana would consume way more mana per hit. “reduces Mana lost per point of Life by 0.0625 per level”
The merc setup to intentionally be hit to proc his weps is dope...i would go with a lower def (than eth fort anyway) armor with life steal, or the one that procs fade as well, possibly in eth armor if the def wasnt too high or lower def fort.
true. something like COH would work well because its got high res and leech, but low def. But the merc is basically for show. He dies anyway, and is not super helpful. Could just as easy do this without a merc.
I have sorc nova level 92 and i trying ubers. I won't even kill the first three in the portals... i tap static field, that is ok, life goes down... BUT my nova dont damage any ubers, non a milimeter nothing 0. Idk why. I have lightning sunder. Idk what i have wrong in build
@@DonKabat pavke wrote about it in a reddit article. Him and a few of us stumbled upon this bug largely started by these videos. Because online, if you do dmg, the monsters will not heal for 8 frames. So you can do constant dmg without having and prevent monster heal. Nova happens to be attacking a 8 frames so it works. Offline, monsters regen rate is every frame.
Tried with my blizz sorc that has 5k damage, wasnt able to kill any of the three and eventually left the game. I watch thee videos and i don't understand why it didn't work for me
5k dmg is not enough. Each one regenerates health pretty quickly, so you need enough dmg to do more than that. Or have a source or Open wounds to stop their regen. It’s not easy.
I think the act 5 merc is a lot of fun now . Only wish he could wield 2 two handed weapons - as I mistakenly made an Ethereal Grief in a Colossus Blade . Oops ! Iron Maiden material now ...
I using CL and Lightning. Best Damage is 50 K. Actually with Sunder 46k. DiaClone have no Chance. I love my CL/L Sorc. Very good for Keyfarming and Cowing.
No. The use of the sunder charm is what breaks Mephs light immunity. Then holding infinity with its -50 LR and Griffon's + facets is what brings the - ELR to -78
@@liamcossey9508 the good news is that -100 light res is the lowest you can go! haha. 95% absorb on the ES and 13 MDR. Almost no dmg hits your life. It's all Mana. So even just mana pots would probably do it. But as you saw I was heavy handed on the rejuves.
Oooh, i mean, you could easily go for a more budget merc. With coldsteel eye and blackhorn's face, and just a lawbringer for slow. And a memory on prebuff. But I didn't expect you to face tank all three at the sametime wow.
ESNova with self wielding infinity will win over any other build that is known, for pretty much any scenario of pvm. It doesn't come cheap, so only if you take end game gear into account it's not as cost effective as some other build. Before cold mastery fix, you'd be more efficient when on a smaller budget but now it's not as big cost diff but still efficiency vs cold is even more in favor for any lightning build.
Why did this make my lightning sorc Ubers while cheesing with marrowwalk bone prisons look weak?! Lol I think that I didn't do my energy shield right because your character looked super tanky here
@@smalps-gaming thanks. I recently returned to play and made a blizzard sorceress. I think I can do it too, with another build and gear, but it seems much easier with the one you made.
I've seen that bug a few times with merc interaction with Duriel.... Sometimes my merc likes to ghost on me and turn invisible with only the weapon showing 🤷
People need to realise 1 thing. This build is super expensive and outside most players their budget, EVEN mine lol. As a casual player this is a no deal, but with a paladin you can really go budget and get the deed done, allot more budget options with equipment.
i can see good shopping was done here . Jah's Ber's Cham' and more like you found Shael rune often thinks . People must stop making videos showing they Shopping characters builds.
You can think what you want, but this is NL and took over a year to build up to this level. Yes trading was involved, but not that crazy to get when you play a lot.
I never will understand how people in this videos have so manu runes, I never had a better rune them a single Ko and I do so many runs fir years, since I was a kid, never saw I single high rune

Yea I can see that. This build is a very easy play style. And I think the game is still hard, but it's gotten easier too with patch updates. But it takes a while to get to this level of gear still. I've been playing this character for over a year and build up all this gear and leveled to 99. I would not say it's "easy." Yes it's easy now.... after 2000+ hours into the game.
It's hard game saying sometiing different about d2 would be wrong .. I mean we just watch a video of someone who give jahmaljahsurjahber to a mercenary ... so we can considere its some kind of end game... and yes end game makes it looks easy .. just to reach that u need to play and suffer/die a little.
this gear was gathered without botting? hard to believe, several jah's and ber's come on... and a 35/13 vipermagi u must trade or buy for real money, no chance to find it ofc
Would you believe I have been playing the same character since launch of the game and I never play ladder only non ladder. so trading and collecting gear is pretty easy when you don't start over every ladder? Been playing for 2200 hours. I did find the 35/13 Vipermagi. I traded for several other items though. Found 5+jah and 5+ ber too.
That makes no fucking sense. It's a GEAR grinding action RPG. The whole purpose IS to do it as efficiently as possible with the strongest gear you can get. Why would someone needless hamstring themselves? There's no reward or logical incentive ( please don't say challenge, that's another fallacy since it's statistic not mechanical) in doing it in shit gear. That's like saying you can run fast but try doing it with 5kg plates tied to you legs because just shoes is too easy and it's not a challenge. Who wants to see someone do it, but slower for no real reason? lol.
@@Despond Lol. Exactly. People play the game in different ways though. Which is fine! I would argue that playing and doing ubers with a level 99 and ALL END GAME gear is harder to do. The amount of time and effort that goes into building up the character and gear, then yes Ubers are "easy" at that point, but that is the fruits of your labor. There are a lot of comments about me having Last wish on the merc, and that is what puts this over the edge, but really I've been playing this game for over a year an a half, all Non Ladder, 2000+ hours, So of course all my gear can be end game. I never posted saying this is a budget uber build challenge. I like your point about running with no shoes! haha.
I like that level of generosity. I have on PSN I play Poe I'd play a nl sin with those new mosaic claws but I feel sorc is better I can't get use to the controls on console coming from D2 on PC it's weird
made a sorc myself on hardcore and died to a pack of might archers in pit level 2. hardcore. and no i did not pay to win using jsp i found the bers and the storch myself
I’ve put many hours into the game on both, and it’s better on console. It’s much better to have every single skill right at your fingertips without have to even move your hand position. Much faster at switching skills and doing different skill combos. The only place pc is better is teleporting. The further teleport distance helps.
The Sunder for mephisto makes no sense. You gain nothing from it besides the - res for yourself. I don’t think you understand what a sunder charm does lol
