He is truly an exceptional athlete. The ultimate combination of body control and strategic thinking to maximise efficiency, tear down opponents, support the pressure, unreal defense skills, two stroke shots, merciless returns, seameless volley finishing.. the guy mastered this beautiful game in so many ways. He deserves to break all records before retiring, and even if he doesn't, his name is already up there among the greatest to ever play 🥎
it's the mental strength of this guy that has got to be admired. 35 years of age. he just keeps going, every single title means everything to him. I love him.

When the commentator was like ‘psychologically Korda winning the first set is huge’, I did think to myself ‘really?’ Because if I had a quid for every time Djoko has been 1-2 sets down before going full Super Saiyan to win the match, I’d be a very rich man indeed. It’s like his signature at this point. This was an absolute Nole classic - mental fortitude and athleticism on another level.
I think because he served for it at 5-4 and it was such a long tiebreaker, that's why. If he hadn't won that first set, I doubt he could have taken it to three.
I mean, so you think Korda losing the first set would be better ? Of course it doesn't guarantee a win if Korda wins the 1st set, but against someone like Djokovic to try so hard in a set and come up with nothing would be a big blow. For Djokovic to play at this level is normal, for Korda it's not, so it takes more effort from Korda to maintain this level.

I discovered Nole in 2005, looking him in tv. I realized that he has something special, different, like his incredible flowing displacement in the court, his skills and so clever in tactics. I ve seen tennis along 40 years or more and I think that Nole's talent is the greatest in tennis history. This is the reason why I ve been following, admiring and cheering for 17 or 18 years and counting... He is breaking records and records and goes on like firsts days. His resilience and mental strength grows as difficult is the situation. His incredible stretching, even nowadays, at 35. Sorry, my english is poor, I could say or enumerate hundreds of things.. Novak is the unique tennis player who, when he loss a match, I mean, a GS Final, that offers a sincerely huge to his opponent, he did this a lot off times. I respect Federer, Nadal, Sampras, Connors, Borg, etc etc. But no one like Novak. In Us Op 2020 was ridiculous expulsing, incredibily unfair. And 2022 Aussie scandal and Us Open 22 too... He should have, easily, 23 o 24 GS TODAY...but...the "Vaccine" and others craps... He didnt care, he goes on... I think that he can achieve even 4, 5 or 6 GS more, nobody knows.. @@kobilee9504 not planned but in many matches you can feel that Nole just plays what is needed. he can then always find another gear and turn it around. He uses this to strengthen his mental game play. It is very wise as a tennis player to not play A-game all the time. The solid B-game is what wins you tournaments. Not even pros and especially youngsters know that.
It is definitely sensational! Firstly, saving the match point when the serve game of Djokovic was 30-40 with disadvantageous scoreboard 5-6 in the second set. He ie really the toughest player in terms of the mental. He knows where he will take the most accurate step in order to reverse the clash against the adversaries. The viability and precision are also top-flight in order to dictate the points in the most crucial section. Massive congrats to Djokovic for the 92th ATP title!
Novak Djokovic is mentally so formidable that he can go toe to toe with the rising young stars two days in a row. His never give up approach is key to his success. And somehow he brings a different style of play against other players. Being tennis fans, we love these nailbiters. Thumbs up to both players!

Between that and beating alcaraz in monte carlo, korda’s had some pretty impressive results… even if neither of those players were necessarily in their best form 100% of the match

Djokovic is the absolute favorite for AO23. But only that for now. He had some resistance today, the field is more competitive now even to him. The 5 setters games, rising star after rising star, all this combo will really test him... We are about to see either the greatest season for Djokovic or the rise of the new generation. This will be epic. So far, Djokovic still has the advantage.

What a match. Korda did better then i expected, just when you think Novak will finish match easy, he finds new wind. If he wants to be great champion he has to work on his mentallity. Novak played really well, good warm up for AO.
Blows my mind. I literally shed a tear with joy and astonishment of Novaks resilience and determination and fight and heart. Korda played lights out tennis and still lost to a 35 year old legend. I don’t think anyone could have beaten Novak today. Don’t even think 2005/6 Federer could have beaten him. This had shades of 2011. It’s mad to think he’s still the best in the world 11 years later. And anyone who says Alacaraz is no 1 is delusional. Novak was banned from USA and Australia and got no points for Wimbledon. He’d be clear of Alcaraz. I doubt Nadal will ever beat Novak on a hardcourt. It’s approaching 10 years since Nadal managed to beat Djokovic on a hardcourt.

It was quite an interesting match to watch. Novak once again shows his mental strength like a true champion. Just incredible. As for Korda, a lot of positives to take from this final. Great player with a lot of promise for the future.

This is a strong competition with both Nole & Korda had not lost a set en route to the final, while the likes of Felix, Meddy, Denis, Sinner & Rune fell early. Hats off to these 2, especially Nole
I think despite his age he has flawless technique and he perfected it in such a way that even if he's getting older its not that taxing on the body. Thus I think he can keep this same level for years still. 4 maybe 5?
