I had this done yesterday for abnormal periods and heavy bleeding. It was decided due to bleeding for 35 days straight with heavy flow and passing of huge clots. I got a hysteroscopy, D&C, removal of polyps and small fibroids. I had no cramps after leaving the hospital after 10 hours including surgery and recovery. I had to be monitored closely due to high blood pressure but my hospital staff was great. I got this done in NYC at Mount Sinai West. My physician has been performing this surgery for 20 years. I have little spotting supported by a pantyliner. I am currently drinking fresh green juices and beet juices and eating salad to detox the medications out of my system and am in no need of any pain meds. I am age 44.
I have this procedure about 5 days ago and I been in pain since the surgery . I have high blood pressure because the pain . The doctor prescribe a strong pain killer but the effect I lo last 3 hrs and I start feeling pain , due to the pain I feel Dizzy weak , headache, nausea stomachache . I’m scare .
the procedure was the best thing I did for myself, I had the procedure at 48 yo I have never had another period since. no more heavy bleeding, no more scheduling vacations around the enemy. its the best thing for my husband too, cause I used to bleed so heavy, that I was no fun to be around for at least 10 days. find a md that has done the procedure a lot, very experienced.
SANDRA MANNA-SLUKE I am getting ready to turn 44 and am considering giving this procedure to myself as an early birthday present. Wanted to ask you about hormone changes, do you experience any of the pms symptoms after you had your ablation i.e. grouchiness, mood swings and so forth?
Hi I just turned 48 June 30th and getting one done too and I'm scared, doctor says I'm too young for a full hysterectomy, but I'm done having kids plus my tubes are tied.
I had the NovaSure in 2014 and it was the best thing I ever did. I suffered from debilitating periods for years. After my daughter was born, I bled for a year straight and would soak through a super plus tampon in 20 minutes. I couldn't live that way anymore. I had the ablation done. No period now for 5 years.
Omg u bled for a whole year??? I've been bleeding for a little over a month and I'm getting this procedure done tomorrow cuz I'm just not having it! I'm so over it! You're such a strong woman tho!!
Had this done this past Friday. At the same time I alao had a DNC and a large cyst removed from my tubes and ovary. I had a long surgery with everything done and right now am very sore. But that is from the incisions in my belly. The ablation part is good. I have had some post ok spotting, but very little and I actually had my period very bad going into this. It started 4 days prior to my surgery and waa still going strong the day before including clotting. My doctor gave me hormone pills just to take one the night before and one the morning off so that it would lesson my period and she would get a clearer view of any possible polyps. Post ok I had cramping, but took and ibuprofen and that worked. Other than dealing with the other part of my surgery recovery. I feel pretty good
I am going to undergo this operation next week. I have decided to do this because of my heavy menstruation. Last month during my period was the last straw when I lost consciousness , dropped on the floor and ripped open my upper lip. I had to go to the emergency to get stiches done. In addition to that, i couldn't walk properly because my right knee was swolen, got wounded and i felt like my kneecap got out of place. I had blood transfusion due to my anemia. Shredding a lot hair. I hope all of these will be resolved after the operation.
Wow 20 years??? That's awesome!!! I'm getting mine done tomorrow and I was told it was a 30 percent chance of the procedure actually working and I got a little discouraged.
@@misamo12 I'm 31. I now have to get a hysterectomy next month. The ablation was a failure.. Not sure why but I ended up having a large polyp removed and I had one regular period in April and after that it's been hell. I have been bleeding nonstop since June
@@therealBB so so sorry hun. That's my biggest fear. This is the next recommend step for me after my body expelled 2 IUDs😫. I wish you well in the next procedure
I had a D & C, Hysteroscopy, and NovaSure ablation. The Propofol that they used made me have Myalgia, apparently. I felt like I got hit by a bus the next day.All my muscles hurt really bad all over my body! You would think that this procedure would leave you feeling a "burning sensation" all the time? I don't feel a thing. BUT, I AM STILL DISCHARGING THIS EXTREMELY PALE yellowish/faint pink blood which I use a regular pantyliner to assist me. It's not even that much! Q: My period usually should start around the 20th of July! Will I have one? Did anyone else notice a difference of their periods afterwards? When will this discharge STOP so I can have SEX? Been waiting a whole year(due to the constant bleeding/spotting I experienced due to the fibroid/polyps I had in the upper part of my uterus near the opening of my fallopian tubes) and going nuts! :)
l.m. Getz I just jad this surgery yesterday. so glad I did it but I too feel like I got hit by a bus. those were my exact words when I woke up and couldn't get out of bed. my tongue, throat and neck and mouth hurt so bad.
Girl, me TOO! I just had my two week check up on Wednesday. I am allergic to chicken/eggs and when I noticed through research that Propofol is made out of egg lecithin , a fatty substancy. They never askede my allergies to food. He said, too, that once the medication is given after you are hooked up to the machine, that medicine(I was confused when he explained it to me..he talks FAST) for some reason brings the calcium out in your bodies muscles, and makes you literally feel like you got hit by a big bus while crossing the street! I would think the Hystascope, D & C, and Novasure would be burning for days. NOTHING! That is just crazy! Did you have all three things done too?I am still having discharge...getting less and less but its still there lol
Had several blood transfusions because of my heavy periods my periods last 3 months !!! Imagine being bleeding for 3 months non stop every single day!today was the surgery! I’m in pain but I hope was for the best!
@@nyalagloin i did!! The healing time has been great. The day of the procedure was very painful, but the next day till now ive been feeling great. The only issue that im having is the bowel cramping. Ive never had IBS but if thia is what it feels like then i feel so bad for people. Pain meds were more than enough.
Get on the pill. There are some where you’ll get it maybe 3 times a year. There are other options. If you do this you can never have children when you’re older.
@@myrgo1648 maybe that’s what they choose for themselves, and that’s okay. Not everyone wants to be an incubator and breeding machine. Being ChildFree is a valid way to live.
Can you have children after this? I'm 22 and have been bleeding irregularly between periods, my doctor said this will help with it but I still want to have kids when I'm older 😐
YO MAMA WHAT I had this procedure years ago when it ws first available by the surgeons best thing I Eva done a total godsend Nope your gynaecologist should warn you ya can't get pregnant after this as it's dangerous both for yourself and the unborn baby I would only advise this procedure on peeps who have had their children and don't want anymore
I also have this question.... I’m 21 I’ve almost bleed to death 3 times and actually just got out of the hospital today, I’ve been dealing with this for some time. My doctor wants to try one more thing and if that doesn’t work then she suggested for me to get this procedure done. She stated it is possible to get pregnant if my uterus inner line decides to build back up but it will be a high risk pregnancy
Hi there ladies OK I'm gonna have this done on the next month and I'm freaking out...but my OBGYN...GONNA DO THIS IN HER DOCTOR OFFICE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK
