Novation MiniNova Synthesizer | Sound Demonstration 

I own this synth for two and a half years now. This is my first hardware synth. When it arrived, I was overwhelmed by the amount of parameters, but when I learned how to use it, I fell in love with it. First of all, the build quality is excellent. Knobs feel firm, LED's are amazing. But the sound is most important here. There's a lot you can do with it. Don't be discouraged by the factory presets - they are a bit plastic for my taste. You can get a lot more of it if you dig down.

Love this synth! So good in live settings, big clear knobs to twist, and the animate functions! Bought and sold a lot of synths over the last 5 years, but this one and Boutique SE-02 are the only ones I have kept so far

This synth is amazing. It is right at home with my other hardware synths ( Behringer DeepMind12, Ensoniq SQ1Plus, Keystation Pro 88) and software synths and daw (Cubase 10) IF I don't want to play the mini keys, I can just assign it as a midi device and play it from my keystation Pro 88. So Much fun though. I highly recommend it.

I play the mini nova thru my peavey classic tube head and guitar cabinent with 6 10 inch red coat speakers and it sounds warm and better than the guitars i play thru the same amp!

I have one of these, i only wish it was a module because the keys are nasty!

Can the vocoder be used simultaneously with the effects?

I just bought this synth myself and while I like it, I was also disappointed by it at the same time. A digital synth requires good quality effects, otherwise it is going to sound like crap. The effects that come with this synth, are laughably bad. The chorus and phaser are alright, but the reverb and delay are of very low quality. If you plan on buying this synth, make sure to at least have access to external reverb & delay (whether it be VST FX or effect pedals). Besides this sad issue, the synth itself is quite nice. I find the sound to be a bit fuller and a bit more aggressive compared to let's say Sylenth1, Spire, Serum etc.

Hey G4m - I broke the original goose neck mic for my mininova (dropped) and made a mess of what was originally a simple repair ... Do Novation sell replacements ? I have a JDXi it for some reason it doesnt like that mic very much so Im thinking it needs to be an original replacement ?

Do we get any piano tone here?

Sorry for the noob questions, but Im looking forward to buy this equipment to my wife. 1) Does it need an amplifier to output its sounds? 2) Apart from its darkwave/ synthwave sounds, does it also have classical piano effects? Thanks in advance, guys.

Why do synth manufacturers ALWAYS have a cool, modern synth and have some dude play Yes licks and Jazz on it? I want to hear what it does for CURRENT ELECTRONIC MUSIC not how it would sound if I brought it to church.

Helle, Do you have a tip for me how I can adjust the pace? I currently only connected the synthesizer & headphones. When I use the cruise control, it shows the Info External Clock, but the tempo does not change. Vg Sebastian

One of the things that worries me about buying one of these is, the keys look like they're same size as kiddy toy keyboard , the sounds are amazing tho IMHO

Oh hell yes i am so buying this synth the last two were epic the second last one sounded like that song superstitious from 70's or 80's and the cathedral one was pretty cool as soon as i heard it playing i pictured myself using the vocoder with that saying welcome to the church of satan everyone welcome to your death muahahahahahahaha!!! 😜😂😂😂😂
