I saw the "In depth" and thought awesome! Then I watched the vid and it's 2 guys talking the entire time, sometimes over each other, while randomly pressing buttons on a launchpad. Neat.

Wook Soundis Yes, it's like two schoolkids yakking in a coffeeshop. The Jack bloke is totally so naive and always unprepared and comes across so impressed by everything like he has no prior knowledge. If he was banned from saying ''cool'' It would render him totally speechless. Extremely irritating and a waste of time watching if you are hoping to learn anything. We consumers rarely get to play around like he does before we part with our pds1250 Absolute cobblers.

Nice video! Love how you asked questions but gave the guy space to demo the gear. best thing is there wasn't one preset used in the whole video. Proves this is an easy to use bit of gear. Too many demos i watch just use the presets and when you have a go from Init it's a nightmare. Well done... sold!

I would so much like to have seen Jack actually play this synth... Warm pads, Oberheim like brass and leads to play while sending evil eyes to the guitarist to shot the f... up 🤘 What about a re-visit at some point???

Novation haven't mentioned it in any vids so far, but without the wood (or real simulated wood-grain sides?) end-cheeks this will fit into a standard 19" rack.. they just don't have any rack ears for it yet so you'll have to roll your own solution for now. Shame the ports at the top are not recessed, so with right angled cables it'd take up 6U (~5.2U for the unit itself)

Man, I remember your MiniMoog video and i was like "omg! What kind of demo is this, must be one of those layman guys", with Modal demo, your presentation was way better, but now it has reach the status of excellent! And by that i mean, not too geeky about some things, yet not too boring neither. IMO you should lock it here. There are guys debating CEM vs SSM all day long on various forums, please don't become one of them! This is a perfect mixture of exploration / curiosity spirit, and the technical talk. Yeah i'm one of those guys debating CEM vs SSM all day. And I do synth demos for living, for various manufacturers. Stay cool, bro!!!!

people are bitching about the price. But do you think you are going to get something this lush for cheap ? Totally not impressed with the DSI way overpriced kit. I think 1200 dollars is fair for this level of quality. This and the new Waldorf are the best things happening now after Super Booth. not going down the Euro Crack avenue anytime soon. No way.

Please someone just give us a polyphonic keyboard demo of some of this thing's warmer sounds over and above the flexibility, distortion, wavetables etc which have been posted to date. I can't remember so much interest in a new synth where every potential buyer just has no idea of what its true breadth of sounds is. I'm afraid to say I fast forwarded through most of this.

all of these synth demos are the same, too much talk not enough noise. seriously nobody gives a damn about how the signal flows through a synth, all musicians care about is how it sounds at output. plug in a midi keyboard and have somebody go through the presets for 5 mins playing some melodies that would be a far better advert for any new synth. its like painting being demonstrated by the chemist who mixed the paint. instead of Bob Ross you get professor farnsworth from futurama :)

at the end of the day any synth is about the noise it makes so that should be the focus I recon. its a bit like the old saying a picture tells a thousand words..... when it comes to synths a sound does that. don't get me wrong i also like to hear a LITTLE bit about the technology involved and understand that most of the vids we see like this are talking to the products engineer who is obviously gonna get excited about engineering things :) all I'm saying is that the target audience (musicians) care more about the sound it makes than the science involved and the video should be balanced that way. 2 mins talking about it.. 2 mins playing it would be far more informative than 10 mins just talking about it.

chemicalBR0 I have to disagree. Don't get me wrong, I think the sound is the most important part of a synth and playing presets gives you a good idea of that. But if I spend 1200 bucks on a synth I want to know what I MYSELF will be able to do with it. To use your painting analogy, I want to know how many colours I'm getting ;o)
