Thought i should mention that last month dinosaur fossils were discovered in southern sweden. The fossils were found in late triassic sediments just before the end-triassic mass extinction and a lot of material of a large theropod (8-10 meters) was found. Other material include fossils of a late triassic ornithischian including footprints. A detailed study will be published in 2023. I'm so excited!

Oh wow, that's super neat

Could I interest you in teaching us things like Taxonomy and how exactly do ancient organisms get classified? How do we know the age difference in specimens? How do they infer color and soft tissue? How can people try and do some local citizen paleontology? Is this even something we should try and do?

Yeah, so I actually just graduated from school, so have more time for those sorts of videos, and that is one we were already planning on!

The bit about the snake giving life birth gave me flashbacks to that part of "walking with beasts" that was set in the Messel ecoystem. Maybe those snakes didn't want their offspring to be eaten by giant ants while hatching😂

I’m unsure of the definition of tetrapod other than ‘four legged vertebrate more closely related to extant four legged vertebrates than their nearest extant relatives ’

I feel you are haunted by spinisaurus papers. ❤

I asked open A.I. chat gpt for public fossils collection sites and got a .gov just for that that I never, ever found when looking myself. I've been asking it all my long time questions and getting direct answers in seconds. Not sure why I'm not there now, it helped me with Latin, I was confused with a Greek word they adopted, and only saw it in the Latin version. Turns out one of my references had misspelled it and I had been confidently mistaken for a long, long time.

Do you get your graphs charts from the studies themselves usually?

In general. Or related studies talking about a similar event if I'm just introducing the subject.
