Teresa, so lovely to see you. First things first: you ARE a crocheter! For a first project, you're doing quite well - fantastic actually! Your work is beautiful. Dropping stitches on the ends is quite common. The remedy is to count every or every other row of stitches - trust me, I know! When I learned to crochet, I jumped in the deep end as well with making my young daughter (now married) an afghan for her bed. I learned the same way as you. The Afghan had repeating squares, so I would learn the new stitches on the square in "class" then complete a second square at home thereby reinforcing the learned stitches and improving my tension. After much love and many washes, my daughter still has the afghan today. I promptly bought both Rebecca Yarros books. Your book recommendation timing could come at a better time. I am beginning a reading journal (something I wished I did years ago to share with my grown children) and really want to get back to reading. I once was a voracious reader. Here's a book recommendation for you: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Read the book BEFORE watching it on TV (Apple Tv). Much love from Arizona

But Ms. Teresa, you did that whole stocking in record time! That is not one of your "normal" Christmas presents, it was a special occasion that took quite a bit of time. If all of the presents were smalls they'd be done by now. You used your time wisely when you had it to use. It just got used up on something you would only do once in a while for someone special to you. :D Love all you do!

Lovely stitching Teresa! And well done for persevering with the crochet. Suggestion for you: weave in the ends as you finish each block or you’ll be overwhelmed when it comes to sewing the whole thing together! Happy crafting…..Lesley

Your crochet is perfect. Crafty should never be about everything being perfect. Look at how you have made your Christmas Crackers unique and they are lovely. I'm glad to know I am not the only one planning my WIPGO around support details. I really like your idea of using WIPGO picks to organize. I still have some floss on bobbins and the bends in the floss drive me crazy. Two of my WIPGO picks will be to iron that floss and get it onto floss drops. I have three picks that say to kit 10 smalls. I have a stack of free charts for ornaments that I have collected for years and want to stitch. I believe I will be able to accomplish this if I have them kitted for travel like you have done with your sleds. I have a number for organizing my crafting magazines and books. I want to separate them by knitting, crochet, quilting, crewel work, cross stich, etc. I think I'll add one to sort yarn by type. Now that I think about it, I have always wanted a project roll to keep my FOs tidy and safe until I FFO them. I believe I'll add two numbers for that. The first one picked will be all about kitting this project and the second time it is picked will be for assembly.

I really love your new way of filming. For me it looks easier for you to. Your stitching is amazing you never disappoint. The crocheting project looks gorgeous I don’t have Facebook so that would not work for me unfortunately. Your sweater by the way is beautiful. I always learn a lot from your posts. Happy stitching

Was so excited to see that you had a new video today Teresa, as I was getting worried about you! The last we all knew, you were sick with Covid, and was hoping it was continuing to linger. But you are back to your cheerful self! And thank you So much for purchasing several of my books again. I’m so grateful! So sending hugs and thanks. Let me know if you want any for give aways. 🤗

I found your channel after deciding to have a bit of a break fro my usual crochet and take up cross stitch after a couple of years break. Had to laugh when you said you'd caught the crochet bug a bit. Beware of yarn stashes, they grow soooooo fast and big 🤣 Thanks to you and your ace videos, I've invested in a few Q Snaps and some thread storage bits as well as easy count fabric just to make my crafting life easier 🤭

I usually choose knitting over crochet because I like the look of knitting better, but WOW! That blanket is going to be beautiful! I got back into audiobooks and stitching this year and I’ve been listening a lot for a zoom book club I started with my family. (We all live very far apart.) The zoom book club always turns into a zoom WIP show-off since my mom and sisters and I bring our crafting with us. It’s so nice to sit and do our handiwork while we chat about the book together. 💗

Love Love Love all the stuff. Thank you for the books I've just finished the "Midnight Breed" series by Lara Adrian and was looking for something to listen to. I listen whilst stitching and on train to and from work ... I sometimes get a bit self conscious on the train hoping to god no one can hear my book and give me a look up and down ... grey haired old lady listening to some really saucy bits. .... I figure I'm old but I'm not dead!!

Thank you Teresa as always for the update. Never give yourself grief for going down the rabbit hole and into another craft. I am slow stitching and also EPP ,2 things I never thought I could or would do. I now have more stash coming to the house,to the extent my lovely postman on giving me more parcels asked me what I was crafting now. We are creators it's what we do (good excuse) love your Christmas stitching I am sure your colleagues will be delighted. Just checked, my library has both books on audio so downloaded them. 1 month into retirement crafting and books is the daily routine for a little while.

Your first crocheting looks great. It is a tree of loops and all tree limbs are different lengths, so don’t stress over the loops. The more you do, the better you get. The design is a very challenging one and you are doing great as a beginner. Just as with your stitching, enjoy it.

Love the flosstube/crochet episode. For your first crochet effort, well done ❤! Wish my efforts were just as good years ago when there was no RU-vid and no one in the family or friends that knew how to crochet. Mind you my mother was a fab knitter. Crochet is a lot more forgiving 😅. Thanks to the Internet I now do poppies for friends for Rememberence Sunday and angels for Christmas. Congratulations on another rabbit hole. P.s loved the cross stitching progress .🤩

Merry crazy Christmas pre-season Teresa. You are such a joy to watch ❤. Loved seeing all your WIPs and new non-stitchy projects. I’ve got a crochet kit to learn on but too chicken to start. Going to put my big-girl panties on and get to it now tho 🤣. I’ve tried stitching on the train but it’s just too awkward so maybe crochet will be a winner. I Listen to audio books for my 1hr commutes so get through quite a lot - will definitely be downloading Fourth Wing 🎧.

Another great video. Your Alternative Reality is looking amazing. That crochet blanket does look amazing. I don't crochet but my mum has started and i keep getting intrigued by it... to the point where Hobbycraft had an autumn crochet blanket SAL pattern for free which i have now saved for the future. 😆 I keep hearing about fourth wing from loads of floss tubers so i may have to get this. I love an audio book whilst stitching.

Wonderful to see and hear from you. As I said last month, I am bogged down in my stitching too. Similar to you, it's because I am stitching on a baby blanket as a gift for a coworker. It's become such a chore. I cannot wait to be done with it and, as you said, get back to stitching on the things I love. Lesson learned...stick to stitching for me. At least for a while. Your crochet is really coming on brilliantly. I was a knitter and have a whole stash of yarn. So beware, it is quite addictive! My only solace is with the state of prices now, I know when I get back into it, I'll be way ahead of the game.

I also find myself working on things for others and not for myself! Rabbit hole! I started full coverage cross stitch this time last year and I bought the pip and chip system…. I only have one start. I love audiobooks too! I mostly listen to fiction. Dragons and kingdoms and such!! I love getting lost in the stories! We are in the process of moving/buying a new home…. Good to see you again Teresa. Your stitching and crocheting looks great. I can relate to the beading oops as I made beading errors on Magwayen but now that she is completed, I love the way those beading oops turned out. I’ve completed all my Christmas quilts and just waiting for them to come back from the long armer so now I can sit down and enjoy stitching for myself. That is until my sister gives me her Christmas wish list that will probably be filled with knitting gift requests 😜. I’ve read a dragon series called Dragon School by Sarah K. L. Wilson that was such a fabulous read that I completely stepped away from all my other hobbies and completed the entire series in a 2 week span. Hoping your home projects go smoothly and you have a wonderful holiday season. I hope the girls don’t give your decorations too much attention this year. I’m skipping Christmas decorating this year because we added an unplanned/expected puppy to our “pack” 2 months ago and puppy training wore me out. I need some recovery time before I have to save my Christmas reindeer from a puppy that makes everything a toy.
