That's a caboose. They were used for over 100 years on our railways. Back when trains had 5 man crews, the rear brakeman would ride up in the cupola (the box on the roof) to look out for fire smoke or other problems as the train was in motion. In addition, they were equipped with potbelly stoves for cooking meals and providing heat, as well as bunk beds and a restroom for long overnight trips.

@@_TheJp_ A caboose (aka: Waycar or Crummy or Shack), is nothing more than a glorified & better accomodated Brake Van. At least we in the US have proper "Locomotive Engineers" and "Train Conductors" instead of simple Drivers and Guards..... Why be personally irrational when you can discriminate for the fun of it? 🙂

In the USA it's not a "Wagon". Get your facts straight before commenting about an American consist.😂
