I imagine she'd have to relearn it; but Kaylynn ended up being a very good bassist and is now in college....in all honesty, she's a far more skilled bassist than Duff these days....not knocking the guy because he's good and has created some iconic bass parts....but K has serious chops on the bass guitar; check out her playlist :)
@@guitarslinger32269 Thanks! The playlist part of your channel? Sounds like she has stoped playing bass. Hopefully not. Duff was lucky like many big R&R people; very little music theory, proper training but made it big. Would be interesting to know if Duff once sobered, went and got proper music lessons. Unfortunately, no one really would listen cause the songs he will be remembered for are those GNR songs and one or two from Velvet Revolver. Anyways, hope K is still jamming even if it’s a different band she is following. :)
Thanks for encouraging my students, Alicia: here's K's playlist; though she's not studying with me....I'm sure she's still jammin' away. ru-vid.com/group/PLiUSE83_EWtG10YjE2PwWFQ_0cqOpK0ML
I was also having problems with the pitch, but the playing is great. Most of the tabs out there for this song are basically just the roots, I was looking for some ideas in order to add some fills and I found some good ones in this video. Thanks :)
We're playing it in standard tuning; so we're a half-step higher than the original recording. Regarding online tabs; you get what you pay for sometimes. Kaylynn pays for private lessons, so she learns songs note-for-note; and gets professional sheet music to take home. She also gets the theory behind the songs so she progresses with her knowledge as well; which gives her freedom to create. Thanks for the comment. Keep jamming.
I know. We chose to play it in standard tuning so the keyboardist in her band could play it in C; also so her band wouldn't have to change tuning or switch-out instruments during their set. Thanks for encouraging my student.
Hi Jay.....this video was one of K's first performance songs; playing a complete song. It's from 2016. She went on to become a very confident, good bass player with feel. Check out her more recent videos to see/hear ;)
