I still go about with soldering the way you showed in the intro and naturally less often! Good that there are innovations to help us out at least in your part of the world. 73 de Jon, VU2JO

That Arm with the Jaw is an upside down camera mount. I've used it a lot and I really like it.

Aloha Chuck, Man, this looks like a really great product for me also. I build my own battery bank cables in which I buy the cable in large spools and use bolt cutters to cut to measured lengths before I use heavy lead solder and tin spools to cut into short lengths to stand up inside the terminal lug connectors. I usually use heavy rubberbands wrapped the handles of my large Channel Locks to hold the terminal lugs in place while I use a butene torch to heat the lead and tin pieces into liquid inside the Terminal lugs before jamming the cable into it and use a second pair of channel locks to crimp the terminal lugs onto the cable, then use black or red heat shrink as a final touch to make them look nice and professional when done. This kit in your video would probably work better for me with that big magnetic vise I think would be perfect. Then I always have these smaller jobs in which that LED light would also be perfect. In fact, I just picked up some red, black and green insulated 8ga awg cable that was cut at 21 feet for my new Jeep to go through the firewall and bolt into a bus box under the front passenger dash for all my radios and will add a 600w DC to AC inverter because the 150w inverter made for my Jeep is just too small for most applications. I also have two antennas that I need to repair in which this heavy duty set up you have in this video would be perfect for. I’m going to Washington DC for 15 days next month again this year to meet up with some fellow vets from my VVA Chapter 858 to go visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall for Memorial Weekend. Plus I plan to bring my G90 to do some rag-chewing since I haven’t learned how to do POTA’s yet. So your video is perfect timing for me for some of these little projects that I want to get finished for my trip like my Tram 1185 mag mount antenna that my wife somehow knocked the steel ball off the tip in the underground parking at Ala Moana Mall last year. I’m planning on taking that with me for this trip to use on the rental car when I drive up to Chesapeake Bay to visit a friend that has Alzheimer now and the only person he can remember according to his wife is me. He can’t travel on airplanes anymore and I want to surprise him. Unfortunately, it’s like going to visit Joe Biden, alert at times and gets confused real easy and tends to fall down a lot because he forgets to look for where he’s going. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of him and give his wife a break for a few days. It will be my last opportunity to see him in person I think. I’ve known him for over 30 years and it’s been 3-4 years since I last saw him here in Hawaii. It will be my final farewell to him. I’ll check to see if you have a link to this product somewhere in this video. Keep up the good work, Chuck and 73’ 🤙🏻 Todd WH6DWF🇺🇸

I have a panavise and some flex arms with clips, but this gives me an idea for mounting them together

I have a magnetic parts pan that I bought from Harbor Freight that I put my small standard helping hands in. It works good but I would rather have the one you are reviewing. It's much more versatile. I have been looking for a better helping hands setup and that's about the best one I've seen to date! I'll probably buy one. Thanks for your review! 73

Chuck, That looks awesome, even if you had a metallic top on your bench, you could use this without the supplied plate. However, this looks like a really good system, every electronics person/ham operator should have a decent vice for PCB's. Thanks for a really thorough review.

Hi Chuck, Good Review. That bracket with the clamp is a heat gun bracket. I'm checking to see if some of those components are available separately. 73 WJ3U

I need something like that in the worst way! I just have my wife hold the wires in place, but she’s always complaining when I touch her with the iron.

Appreciate the review. I have been soldering for 45 years of my life, and if I had to setup something like that to solder two wires together, or do circuit board repair, I would probably quit. I would say take the money and invest into a Panavise 301 or 308 and it will serve you well.

Now imagine filming a how to video while soldering. That's where this type tool shines.
