I used to work at Premier Builders Guild when they were in business making Dennis's Fano line of guitars. He came out and trained a few guys and I remember one of the guys told me. "You have to find that right rock that just works."
With COVID and Novo's transition to direct sales, I was in a position to place an order and get my guitar delivered in about 5 months, which was great! I got a Serus J in ocean turquoise. I am very pleased!
@@splatastic244 yeah, you have to either order a custom which takes around 6 months to a year. Usually about a year. Or you can get one of the twenty special order slots that they release at the beginning of each month on their website. The Special order only takes three months but it's limited on the spec options you can choose. If you get lucky you can buy a Signature guitar they release on some Thursday mornings at 10am. They are one of a kind, hand built, and signed by Dennis himself.
Yea john does a wiked job hosting this series. He asks the right questions and the musicians respect him.Hes got some pretty cool rigs himself. And no , im not gay, lol not that any things wrong with that
Been a fan of Dennis's work for a long time.Good to see the success he has achieved. Also bringing so many talented individuals in the Nashville area along and giving them a chance to practice their artistry in his factory.
Great video and content. Seems like a real bunch of down to earth, honest, caring, nice, and talented people that make up the company. Every owner raves about how good the Novo guitars are.
I got my Serus J in Nov. 2020. I waited about 7 months to end of build. It did not disappoint. Ice blue metallic with Lollar Minis+ tone machine! Matt was great help when I was trying to decide on what I wanted, and Devin was such a good guy to work with on the final details. I would not hesitate to buy another Novo. While not inexpensive, the quality matches the price. Now I have an inkling for a Miris!
@@sometimelater Lol how does that make them high? Because I found out about this brand of guitars by Rhett, and then seen lots of others and videos about them? So I want one? You comment makes no sense
This video made me purchase a Serus S in 64 3-tone sunburst and a Serus J in Ocean Turquoise. I can’t wait to get them!! That sparkle sunburst in the video is one of the most beautiful finishes, I have ever seen! The painters at Novo truly are wizards and some of the best in the world right now😍✨
Novo is so cool! I don’t know that I’ll ever own one, but I’d love to play one. If you haven’t checked it out, their podcast is a great time. It’s like hanging out with a group of friends, talking about gear and music. You get to meet each member of the shop one episode at a time.
Hmm… did we just get confirmation that the himbucker/P-90 combo is coming to the solus model option? Or was that just a shot of one Dennis’s signature run?
Softer wood like pine filters the sound, giving it a warmer, rounder tone, plus it's light weight and resonant, exactly what you want in a solid body guitar. I'm a die-hard telecaster and stratocaster and Les Paul Special player for solid body guitars, but Novo is more interesting to me than PRS for some reason, and I'll have to give one a try!
I can't tell you how much I want a Serus J in mermaid sparkle.... They have the best metallic and sparkle finishes in the business. Dennis has such a great eye for design. One of the best builders around.
I just got a Novo Serus P2 and it is by far the loudest and most resonant guitar I own. The neck and body vibrate like crazy when I strum a chord. I’ve never been so giddy strumming an unplugged electric guitar.
Yes - EXCEPT I sincerely hope the guy with the rock and the spike does not end up with repetitive stress injuries. That's a serious debilitation in progress right there. Take care!!
have to cop to this.....saw you in the airport Jon and I gave a few double takes and did not say hi, but thanks for traveling around and doing all of these videos. Always a great way to start the day.
I have played 7 different Novo models. The best, hands down, is my custom Novo Miris J with the Gold Foil pickups. I got mine with a flamey rosewood fretboard neck and it is gorgeous. I have played literally 400 different guitars over the years. This Miris J is #1. If you can get one with Gold Foils, you will never need to buy another guitar again. No joke.....it IS that good!
😎 Thanks Matt, Jon ⚓️ Operating a CNC machine is no joke, ? How many guitars is a certain bit good for ? Bits for pickups Bits for fret slots ~ nut slots ~ neck pockets. Really a craft requiring plenty of experience. 🎸
Best guitar I have ever owned. I sold it because I discovered I'm not a J series fan. May get a T series down the road. The Mirus at 12:45 I absolutely love! Yes, I'll have that one please!
My favorite guitar brand of all time!!!! (And Fano, before Novo) Make mine a Novo Serus S in ice blue metallic - relic’d. Thanks for this video of the best guitars ever made!!! Best! ✌🏼 P.S. Glad to see John embrace the “grey.” Looks good on you John. It happens to the BEST of us! ✌🏼
Pine, check, cnc machine, check, sparkle gun, check, rock and spike, check, freezer, check. Ok, ready for production! Lol Seriously, kudos to these guys have no problem showing this that nobody else does!!!
Recently received my Serus J custom. Amazing tone and sustain. 3 P90's. It's a mighty throaty growler! Body fit and neck (fast!) playability surpass all my others possibly save my tele (maple fretboard). Keep up the great work dudes! Shout out to Devon! p.s. others are LP, ES335, Strat, and PRS22,
Pine and nitro hmmm well thats interesting. Id love to see what an exact copy of an early broadcaster proto type sounds and plays like. And i love the checking look on pine, really cool man. Come on jon pick one of them up and rock out bro,
Would have been cool to see more about how they process the Revolta line. as I understand it they quality check/setup every guitar a la PRs se line. Hopefully that’s the next video?
Do I see a neon pink body with a FLOYD ROSE route @15:58 ? Oh my \m/ Also, does Dennis still do the compound radius fingerboards? Those early Fano guitars (~2011) are some of the best guitars I've ever played.
I didn't know yall made basses too.. I generally don't gravitate towards offsets and "odd" shaped guitars.. but I'm gassing for a novo so bad.. true art 🎨 👌 ✨️ true true art
Everything is in nuances. Tjanks for this. Also Guitar Pilgrim Open mu eyes that a blues isnt easy becouse maybe its not fast but theres a lot of Little things that made simple things sound great
Awesome vid PG. Great guitar company, family vibe. they make killer guitars(visually) and from what I’ve heard- they play amazing. I’ve yet to play one. Maybe someday. Keep up the good work Fano!
