very informative film from 2001. Pity there was not any mention of the railways and the comparatively large station just outside the town centre. I worked for SWEB (South Western Electricity Board) in Taunton in 1970 > 1976 and Dulverton was one of our few remaining Branches where I had a small link. We had a shop there but more importantly a Branch Manager (can't quite remember his name) and he was multi talented - he could sort out the overhead lines (both high voltage and low voltage), individual electricity feeds to shops, offices and houses including new supplies, repair electrical appliances (kettles (new elements), irons, washers, spin dryers, etc.), work as an electrician for wiring houses, work part time in the shop, be available for electricity emergencies for anyone in the town, etc, etc. He retired, the shop closed and all business moved to Minehead. Other the other local SWEB shops also closed in S. Molton, Wiveliscombe, Bampton, Milverton etc. I loved my time working for SWEB which itself has now gone. 11 May 2018.
