funny thing is that's the 4 foot model their green screened against, meaning its not even canonically really the biggest model of the ship, and they would have looked even smaller if they had done this a season or two earlier

back in the day i used to do star trek text rp on some IRC server.. my character enjoyed driving a modified jeep that could drive on the outside of a ship (on the holodeck) it used forcefield generators in the tires to make grippy forcefields that would keep the jeep "glued" to the hull. i was doing donuts in said jeep on a sovereign class deflector dish :p i'll never forget that lol

That was a great shot, on the underside of the Sovereign. Seeing the ship UPSIDE DOWN was the highlight for me.

It could very well be a matter of focus, and she was raised human.

I also think that we, as the audience, needed an indication that it was Amanda doing something and not Q, and this game of hide and seek made that apparent. If the "container" turned into Q without her hand gestures, we would have wondered how she actually found him. So I think these obvious hand gestures were really for when Q and Amanda were together. Notice that when she actively used her powers without his presence, her gestures were often more subtle.

The Dowd are beta pacifists; the Q are giga-chads who do whatever they like.

Still not all of them everywhere with just a thought....... Q has made many seemingly physical beings, but we never see any of them sufficiently developed of mind to question him. Have we seen Q create a habitable zone on a dead planet? Spawn a full starship out of nothing? There are many quasi-deity like beings within Star Trek. We never really get to see the full depth and breadth of their abilities, but I have the impression that the Q are one of the lesser of their number being more style than substance and still in the arrogant phase of their near omnipotence. Possibly one of the "younger" of their kind.

That's why I want non-kurtzman ST to continue, because it's such an open world for GREAT WRITERS NOT KURTZMAN. I want to know more about the DOWD and Q, the crystalline entity, the evolution of the borg in a GOOD ARC, not some POS PIC version. More on the ferengi, more on the trill, and elements in DS9!

Q is superior.
