Thank you. A lot of people are asking about this so I'm gonna pin this comment. Sacrifice: - Skirmishers (5% CS Chance) - COLD Mages (15x Vulnerable) - Iron Golem (30x Critical)
@Coooley tried the build out at 51 its not to good at that level but will try it again when I have more paragon also I found the info in your description under your build I appreciate the post though
@@Coooleythe link on your video, and on your description are different, can you make an account on maxroll so we can see your updated build by just searching for the author?
Absolutely a wannabe sorc. Please blizzard make the minion build viable. If I am going to stand back and cast spells without doing anything related to minions I will just reroll as a sorc. And unfortunately that is what I ended up doing.
Hahahahah I'll give you that one i just laughed out loud randomly when i read your comment. But gotta give it to this build its how diablo 2 necros used to be just with a shield. You probably are thinking of a diablo 3 necro when you put on let the bodies hit the floor by drowning pool run through the map like a slice of ctrl alt delete butter and your just the flapjacks letting your army do the work. If you played diablo 2 you will remember the solo target boss build with the shield and bone helmet etc..... Running around looking like a 2D Viagra commercial. Oh the good ole days.
Thank you very much for this build. I have been trying to get minions to work this entire game and finally bit the bullet and respeced to this. I just solo'd Wandering Death WT4 with this at lvl 76 he was lvl 90
if you have an aspect called Blights - Spawning a Blight pool will pull enemy's towards it and Bone Prison Spawns a pool of blight, you can use you bone prison as a pull, pulling big crowds if not everything into the prison, fortifying you for max health ect
Went with this exact build, it's dominating! Definitely the right play if you want to be a solid bone spear necro. My only fear is that they will nerf bone spear necros into the ground. I REALLY hope this isn't the case but it makes me worried to invest time and effort into this.
I run a very similar build, but I actually use iron maiden for 5% heal per death, and of course, essence per enemy hit. So I don't need bone prison for essence generation. I can keep blood mist in place of bone prison (pushing any kind of higher tier nightmare dungeon you just have to have blood mist). Makes it so life and essence are always topped off and just feels much smoother and faster overall. Maybe you use decripify if you have a lot of +damage to slowed enemies, but I don't. Would highly recommend people switch to iron maiden for essence generation and crazy amounts of healing.
How many points do you put in iron maiden? And then do you go further with it with the two other skills? What’s the whole path of iron maiden you use. I’m definitely interested, I’ve heard other people talk about this
You can try to replace one of your ring by the Aspect Exposed Flesh ( on lucky hit: 10% chance to generate 50 essence when hitting a vulnerable target with bone skill). It is very nice on bone spear that already have a 50% lucky hit chance, make averything vulnerable, splinter in pieces, come back, a lot of chance to proc it. I am also running Edgemaster on ammy instead, I don't know what is better. Serration is on my other ring. I dropped Grasping Vein because I never wait for corpse tendrils, I use Aspect of Might instead for survivability.
with 5 points into tendrils and +4 tendrils on boots you can reduce the cooldown to less than 7 seconds, which gets you kind of close to ~50% uptime on tendril stun. Thats a ton of survi by itself, and potentially alot of blood orbs to heal
I unfortunately imprinted this aspect on a ring a while ago on a not so great role and havent been able to get a single one to drop since then lol. The only aspect that im still hunting down before i can try to put a full cohesive build together
Here's the thing. The Aspect of Exposed flesh is indeed best here but it doesn't drop until a certain level. At the time I met Cooley, I didn't have the ring nor the level so it wasn't an option. As far as putting points in corpse tendril, I personally don't because that's what the curse is there for. You pick the lucky hit chance to reduce cooldown and I have 16,5% on my goves, therefore just by hitting curse + basics or spear, it reduces by huge chunks on its own
@@BijouLeclerc what level does that aspect usually drop at? I got it once at like level 30 and havent gotten it again now at level 70, just really bad luck?
@@iCheckMyPulse I may be wrong on this but I have not seen this aspect until 85, as many other ones I'm finding now that I've passed this cap. I'm currently 88 and have found it a couple more times. Glad to hear it's available before that, as it will help with ressource generation. I struggled to hell to figure out a way until I used paragons and lucky hit chance.
As a old school diablo 1 veteran. Its pretty cool seeing old school diablo names again.someone call llama we got a showdown.😂😂. Even just playing diablo again. Its refreshing honestly. Friday is my hero. This is a extremely solid build. Hands down the best ive seen so far for the necro. Edit*congrats on your subscriber goal. Awesome content! Keep it coming!. It's been pretty nostalgic playing diablo again kinda i guess the equivalent of my high school reunion😂😂
I started with a build similar to this using curses and bone spear. It was pretty strong. Then i started trying builds from youtubers. I quickly realized that their builds weren't anything special but were just the builds they ended up with, which was annoying cause I expected actual good builds, not some random crappy builds that sorta happenned over time and were rushed into youtube vids. This build is back to basics and is the best one by far! Thanks.
playing bone spear necro. switched from my storm wolf druid. having so much fun and he absolutely shreds everything. did the capstone at 61 and elias lived for like 30 seconds
this is mainly the build i use, pretty damn good .... except i have penitent greaves unique boots, these are SOOOOO good for ressource regen in combo with the umbral aspect, and i use a 2h scythe (for the life on kill) in combo with the temerity unique pants (that give shield instead of HP when you heal yourself at full HP). Other than that my build is the same, what i like about my version is that you can literally not care anymore about watching your health or ressource when you fight mobs up to 15-20 lvls above yourself (i have very decent gear, and right now, i very often see crits over 600-700k without havign to set any combo, and i can get over 1 million dmg crits if i set up ideal combos)
Here are my thoughts as a Lvl55 Necromancer: - I've acquired all the sacrifice bonuses (skirmishers, mages and golem) because having minions it's probably decent early on, but it becomes really bad as you progress in the game, at least with the builds I've experimented with. - My current build is quite similar to yours so far, except I've chosen to rely slightly more on corpse and macabre skills. Even my Blood Mist leaves a trail of explosions as I move (without the speed reduction, I should note) thanks to an aspect. - Bone Spear is definitely the way to go, there's no doubt about it. - Combining crowd control + vulnerability + critical damage is key and you need to focus as much as you can on related stats. Overpower is fine I guess but I personally incline more towards concentrating on critical. - I can see how "micromanaging" bothers people even if they're not playing with minions. I'm specifically referring to the necessity of manually targeting and depending on corpses in the field, which may be annoying*, but for me it really isn't an issue. Also, I don't have shortage of corpses so I don't get into situations where I may get frustrated looking for them. - Up to this point, I've been playing without looking for guides, reviews or anything, but I'm beginning to realize that it might be necessary to adapt my build to the new challenges I'm facing in the game, that's why I decided to take a look at videos here and I found yours to be very interesting and well-explained. I'm definitely taking some of your suggestions. *I should point out that my opinion regarding corpse-targeting might only apply to PC, as I'm unsure how these mechanics work on console.
this is the most funniest build i ever p-layed... i just swapped from summoner ... and went to event on tier 4... and one hitted whole event at start... :D chest showed on
Nice! This is the first video showcasing what i have been working towards. I never liked all the bone spear builds that relied on corpse explosion. I was really hoping that my idea would work and seeing your video just confirmed that i can take my time and continue my slow journey :) I have some other ideas that i wanna try out but its very similar to this build!
Had been running a blood surge build thru most the game. And i can definitely tell its not as effective in some end game situations. Too much time waiting for essance and big crits. I appreciate this video! Gonna start collecting some gear for the build ! 🤘
Not playing necro yet, but I've shared the video with my friend who does. Nice build, and going for a no-setup angle is definitely a plus for me and a lot of people.
Great video. I may have to give bone spear another try at some point, but right now I'm loving my shadow dot build. I've tried so many different builds. I ran bone spear until mid 50s, then tried spirit for like a quarter level, then blood lance for a few levels, and now shadow dot (CE and blight) and it feels godly. I just tank almost everything now and melt the screen :). Level 72 currently.
I really tried to love that build but the shadow effect on CE is obnoxious, start calling it the void necro because the whole screen just becomes a void. I'm personally using a sever build cause I like the idea of a melee tank necro and it's working out pretty good so far
tried the build out in pvp. Pretty cool, I one shot people who aren't paying attention. Sadly I am still get destroyed by rogues and barbarians. Can't really beat the best pvp classes when they know how to play the game. This gave me some serious pve gains though since it hits really hard.
Hey Coool cheers for this mate. I've been running the stock bs variant but wanted to tune it to pvp. Respec'd over to this. will work on gear as im 74 and see how i go. Keep us in the loop regarding your progression or tweaks with this build. You made me drop Blood mist man, arghh!
i have similar build but go with minions and blizzard aspect with mages, sacrifice a lot of damage but it amplifies the cdr from decripify and staggers bosses like no other. you basically can spam tendrils and bone prison if you keep curse up. then get army of the dead every 30 seconds which gives you unlimited mana to spam bone spear
My biggest issue with bone spear is that it's kinda boring (to me). I actually leveled using sever and was having a blast but then swapped to bone spear because everyone kept saying it's better for leveling and that seemed to be completely true, my time to kill went down considerably ... but I was borderline falling asleep so I went back to sever even if the damage isn't as high.
@@Hooligoon78 they’ll nerf all the other classes first necro is last on the list for endgame characters (they already nerfed necro before launch from beta)
I agree. I personally just go for the minimum required intel to activate the bonuses to rare paragon nodes and that's it. Other than that, I feel like intel is a waste.
This is literally my build! The deeps! Was going all out summoner with bone spear support, but realized that my 1 point bone spear was carrying my minions so I cut the crap and put all eggs in the bone spear basket and it wrecks! Easy vuln, easy crits, easy AoE. Stacking essence and getting the essence per kill paragon notes really solves this build.
You’ve earned yourself a new sub. All these other RU-vidrs don’t include the builds in their videos and they barely help out the new players. Thank you for this build
To whoever tries to build this not on 80+ level: Don't, it doesn't work unless you're end game. Also, what he doesn't show you here is that you're going to be running out of essence constantly as this build doesn't have a way of replenishing it (Bone wall does replenish some, but it's cooldown is like 16 sec long), so you'll be hitting hard, but you will spend 70% of the time kiting mobs waiting for the essence to regen or for the bone wall to become available again.
@@jarlfisk All the videos you see are bad players at level 75 getting wrecked by people 10+ levels higher and crying. Most of your character power comes from paragon, not gear, so levels are KING. If you're going into FoH under level 90, you're doing it wrong. 90+ PvP against similar geared opponents is actually pretty fun.
What happened with the build? I was following the old guide that matched perfectly with your video, and when I look now there's a lot of changes with aspects and skills. Is the build from the video still the "go to", or have you swapped some things around?
Going to give this a try tonight... Not too many skills to respec on the tree for me from my regular bone spear build on my level 64 Necro... Last time I tried one of your builds was in D2R (Firewall sorceress that can take on Ubers) and that was an excellent season for me, so I'm definitely going to trust you again and try this... exciting :D
This makes me happy. I've seen a lot of bone necro builds and they're all so similar and not very fun to play. I've personally been respecing constantly just to for my own experiments, and the most fun necro build I've made is very close to this one. But I use a golem, like a d2 necro lol.
Necromancer is by far my favorite class on D4 I am a summoner Necromancer with corpse explosion but I think the build you are using looks sick I am a level 53 Necromancer hopefully I can pull it off, I do not have that helm though ❤❤❤
My 100 bone necro hits like a truck, but it is barely viable in groupped Nightmares tier 70+ as you simply die to a sneeze. That’s when you start cutting most of your damage rolls for resistances. Great build, I just wished we were given Bone armour back as an ult to help our survivability.
Was a little iffy when I started using this, but then I ran into my first butcher alone in a nightmare dungeon. This build helped me not get creamed by him 😂
currently 55 running summoner with +3 warriors +2 mages. and iron golem with decrep and corpse explostion (with a unique that causes ghosts running around exploding+40% dmg) and tendrils. tendrils and golem cause vulnerable and each hit to decrepped mobs causes cooldown reduction on them so they're pretty much infinite. +40% crit chance when using tendrils aspect on the weapon, which again has basically 0 cooldown. i pretty much destroy anything in my path in seconds on wt3, except the butcher which annoyingly ignores all the summons and goes straight for me and is way faster than me. ill see what happens in wt4 but so far its pretty awesome and I see no reason to switch to bone. pvp might be bad with this though. never tried.
oh cooley I love you so much. I've been playing necro with the intent to pvp in the endgame playing the super setup oriented spirit build you talk about, I'll try this asap.
what if u got Howl From Beneath gloves - makes Corpse Explosion summon kamikazee skellies that run towards your enemies and blow up!~ I'm level 51 & first helltide dropped gloves and Deathless Visage, so trying to work CE into this build, maybe dropping Bone Prison, wish I had more skills to put on the skill bar..... Coooley's da best!
Spear is best, doing t70 @ lvl 100 with it. Stack m up, tendrils > prison > 6m nukes > repeat. Oh and put tendrils on your weap and spear on your gloves, way more dmg.
Correction on Ghost Walkers Aspect: *While unstoppable and 4 secs after you gain x amount of movement speed* the one shown on boots is a different aspect. *Cooley you are a Legend*
I like your different approach to the bone spear. I'm 77 and getting bored with it as I farm NM dungeons. This let me try a slightly different version and I found it more fun and faster because I wasn't corpse exploding so much.
Corpse explosion meant to be with a build that amplifies explosion using more corpses at the same time, but since it´s pretty hard to get that item and blood mist corpse explosion is pretty nerfed now the only chance is to pay bone shit.- Also bone builds are from level 1 tier, but blood stuff you can only get with higher tiers and mixing a lot with curse to reduce cooldowns and produce blood orbs to reduce cooldown, and use cooldown instead of crit, or other stuff, wasting time, while bone spear can be casted infinite times if you use the build over resourcing for allways cast. Also they had an equilvalent in blood that they had to make it better but still cannot compete with bone. Corpse explosion has not meant to be casting all the time, but since people cried cause they thought blood mist explosion was too op (that wasn´t) now there is no chance to play other stuff, unless you use tendrils shit, that is the worst gameplay i ever seen in all diablo. Not for not working, is more that they force you to use it and forcing to play what they want is not a good gameplay game.
Try higher tiers then. It goes from boring to undoable cause the Necro in general, meta bone spear builds and this build here as well have zero survivablity. He doesnt even use blood orbs to generate constant fortification which is weak enough, he got literally nothing to survive higher tiers. It's so funny how everyone talks about how they found the next build and then do normal open world content or low NM tiers. Push for difficulity and the cracks will be wide as a chasm in this build as well...
I built this build naturally. I use bone spirit though. For fun mainly. I like doing 4mil at lvl 65 to level 75 enemies. But its also useful against mobs that counter bone spear.
YES! Been trying to wrap my head around PvP Necro since launch (PvP is the true endgame😈). This very similar to what I ran in D2. Happy to see a viable build that doesn't use the corpse explosion crutch! 💪
Not a PvP game. Enjoy waiting hours and looking for anyone to fight. Exploiters are sure to make everyone not even step foot in that area. Aka probably you
@@kylekilgore291 Diablo has been a PvP game since D1. It was best in D2 before Enigma ruined it. We just need a system like D2 had, that grants the ability for PvPrs to gather.
The reason I am skipping on a build like this is because I don't want to play a necro with no minions (AKA the emo sorc). Blood Surge with minions does insane damage and it makes your minions into weapons if you get the right setup. Yes, it is gear dependent in order to push the highest levels of endgame, but it's possible and a lot more fun to me.
