I was raised on 2012 which even then was pretty dark (master splinter gets killed twice, what if when a mutagen bomb goes off, lots of mind control, April losing her dad like 3 times, creepy image's, Raphael sorta dies?, leo goes insane, dony dies kind, they watch earth pretty much explode, child abuse, gross stuff, ect.)
My favorite TMNT production & series of 2012 and the reason why the TMNT 2012 series is objectively the BEST is that Edge perfectly balances its dark and serious side with its fun, funny and non-serious side. THE MOST BALANCED TMNT series and its production is the 2012 series. I USUALLY like productions that are more edge, that is, darker and more serious: So, actually, although I should like the 2003 and 2007 productions more, I like 2012 more. Which, objectively, is the best production because of its overall story & backstories, all of types characters and plot. In short, for me to like it, it is not ONLY enough that it is darker and more serious, but also the story, characters, etc. Many features such as should be good. Ninja Turtles, as the name suggests, should appeal mostly to young people, but it should also appeal to children and adults. The series that does this BEST, that does provides the BALANCE of Seriousness/Nonseriousness, darkness/fun BEST is 2012.
of course! I was waiting for someone to point this out, I'm glad you said this. YES it's doesn't a darker and more serious tone ALWAYS means better but I already didn't point out that a darker and more serious tone ALWAYS means better, you didn't see anything written about this anywhere in the video, did you? But if you ask me, I USUALLY like the darker, more serious and realistic style more, but this is not always the case because sometimes I can like more entertaining productions in the same genre more. For example, the Ben10 series is my 2nd favoriteIt is a cartoon series and my favorite series by a very small margin is Omniverse. A better example is that my favorite TMNT series is not the 2003 series, even though it is very serious and has a great atmosphere, my favorite is the 2012 TMNT series. Because it is the best production that provides the balance of seriousness/non-seriousness or dark/fun and deals with these issues best. Also 2012's story, backstories, characters, plot, etc. In most respects it is better than 2003. Therefore, although I generally like dark and realistic & serious productions worthy of the SAME ninjas, I prefer 2012 cuz 2012 is the TMNT series with the most balanced and best story. On the other hand, if I talk about this video, Mutant Mayhem is a very childish, frivolous production and far from the ninja & teenager concepts of TMNT. Just like the new generation cartoon channels, it is a production that they infantilize ONLY to give good messages to children. They used TMNT just to attract the attention of the new generation and children 😡 It was mostly loved, but Mutant Mayhem is a really absurd, different and wrong production. A production that misrepresents the essence of tMNT and is VERY far from the essence of TMNT. In the other hand, even though 2007 is not Shredder, it is a very high quality underrated production considering it is a sequel to the LA movies.
@@IS000OOO it's not that you said it but I feel like that's the main point your vid was trying to make. that the more edgy and darker movie is better than the lighthearted one I haven't watched mutant mayhem yet but I've heard it's better than the 2007 movie but I can't really judge it just seemed that the message of the short was darker and edgier is better but I geuess that wasn't it
2012: What about me 1987: What about meeee 2003: What about me and you together 2018: Something that could really last forever To be fair 2023 was a pretty good movie
2023 and 2018 were productions away from TMNT. They changed some classic TMNT-specific features that have been objectified for years and are now known to everyone, JUST TO CHANGE and say "let's make a difference, let's get in their good graces somehow". The 2014 and 2016 productions deal with the issue of social acceptance in an extremely realistic and logical waybut 2023 handled this issue in a rather absurd way. My little brother and I are still laughing at the last part of the movie. Ninjas shouldn't watch this movie. AND.. YES that's exactly what 2018 would say.
😳🤡 A ninja turtle movie that takes off its masks and goes to school definitely does not fit my understanding of Ninja Turtles. It is a very different movie that does not fit the essence of not only me but TMNT in general, and is made only to attract the attention of the new generation.
@@secondbestjojo1300 Although the later seasons of rise TMNT are not bad, it is still a production that is VERY far from TMNT. Although the mystical weapons that allow them to have special powers are very cool, they are too anime-esque and overdone. Too frivolous and absurd, Master Splinter is very wrong because he has turned into a joke person who watches TV all day. It's very different and over-the-top story-wise, far from the essence of TMNT. I don't think they suit the words Teenage and Ninja in TMNT.
@@IS000OOO the tmnt aren't always dark and edgy they are versatile characters you can make overtop silly goofy material with themiek the 80s cartoon, the secret of the ooze and rise and have it be good and also have dark and edgy stories like the mirage comics or the 2003 show both can work just
@@secondbestjojo1300 I know these very well bro, you don't need to explain it to me, I didn't say that TMNT will always be dark and edge. As the name suggests, teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should be a production aimed more at teenagers. The 1987 series is very frivolous and has a simple structure in the old generation "super evil exists, the episode ends after stopping their evil plans" type. Even though the 1987 series is nostalgic, when I look at it again with a mature mind, it is not that good compared to other productions. On the other hand, there are TMNT productions that are very serious and have an edge structure, but as I said before, the TMNT 2012 series does this in the most balanced way. It is a production that contains both adult jokes and childish scenes, both edge and serious scenes & atmosphere, and entertaining and funny scenes. THESE TWO THINGS ARE IN VERY GOOD BALANCE. THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT SHOULD BE. The 1987 series, Rise and especially Mutant Mayhem are mostly productions for children. In fact, Mutant Mayhem is a production made COMPLETELY for children. So, in short, YES TMNT is a well-rounded show, but it is neither COMPLETELY childish nor COMPLETELY adult. But it is definitely the 2012 & 2003 series that BEST describes EVERY word in its title. They act like teenagers, ninjas, mutants and turtles. On the other hand, frivolous productions such as Rise, 1987 and Mutant Mayhem are not considered good productions, not because they are frivolous, but because the story is not very good and they cannot fully reflect the essence of TMNT. They need to act like YOUNG people, and YOUNG people sometimes act childish and frivolous and sometimes act like adults. But I could not see this in the 1987 series, nor in Rise, especially in MM. While Rise's movie isn't bad, it's a bit far from the original, OG TMNT. If you know the original lore you know what I mean.
