My parents farm in SW MN was hit last week by a tornado. Unfortunately the barn that was hit wasn't covered by insurance so now their summer plans have changed. Their is A LOT of cleanup to do! MN has been hit hard with storms this year!

I know it’s a dumb reason to become interested but better a dumb reason to become interested in ranch/farm life than no reason at all. I started playing farming simulator a while back, not expecting much but quickly became absolutely obsessed with it. Maintaining my fields and cutting all the extra gas for hay just for that few extra bucks I need…there’s something refreshingly humbling for me in it. Made me appreciate how much the people who run farms and ranches go through, and the miracle that we can throw some little dots into the ground and food comes out lol.

Not sure if you were aware of this or not, but in Farming Sim 19, you can download a map of the Millennial Farmer's farm and surrounding area. if you don't want the entire map, his sheds and a pallet of seeds with the MN Millennial farmer logo on it can be downloaded seperately.

I vividly remember mowing some of the pasture with the cornstalk chopper. I saw what appeared to be the grass and thistles blowing in the breeze. Oh no, it was some fencing that had gone forgotten and was found by the chopper which wrapped itself around the blades. About four hot hours later under the chopper after many clippings of wire we were free lol!

Taking a paint marker and putting top on the top side of a hitch might help. As I get older I write myself directions, tire pressures, etc. on all kinds of stuff.

Good to see the crops are looking better after the late planting and stormy weather. Also good to see the cleanup from the storms and just the beginning of the process in getting to a rebuild. Good luck in that process and hoping for a good growing season. Many parts of the country are in drought conditions which is as bad as too wet to have a good year. Let's hope there is improvement for everyone.

In Europe the excavators has what we call sorting grabbers. It works so much easier then a bucket with a claw. They rotate and you can pick even a dollarcent with it when you are experienced.
