What a week of fireworks! From SCOTUS blowing up the rule of law… to the Biden/Stephanopoulos interview… to Trump playing dumb about his own Project 2025… Heather Lofthouse of @imcivicaction I get into it all in the Coffee Klatch.
The Dems are delusional. I will vote for Biden (because im not a fascist), but this "whistling past the graveyard" nonsense when it comes to Bidens mental acuity and sharpness is self-defeating.
RFK Jr is a FAR better choice. They all lie about him, are scared to death of losing their donor gravy train. He’s a REAL democrat, not a neo-liberal sell out.
@@feynmanschwingere_mc2270 A Philadelphia radio host lost her job because she allowed Biden’s staff to stage an interview with pre-prepared questions. That’s what proving he’s up to the job looks like, evidently.
So your going to vote for a guy that can't remember if he watched the debate 5 days ago? Brilliant. You must be on government handouts? Or cannot pay your student loans?
I'm more concerned about the imbalance in the Supreme Court than Biden's mental status. If Trump wins with the court 6 to 3 in his favor I think we are beyond screwed. I wish Biden would pull a Trump tactic and pack the court.
When did Trump pack the court? Packing the court stands for increasing the number of seats so that no mater who dies you can have it your way in one 4 year cycle. So in theory the republican majority (so called) means they could get as high as 6-3. Packing the court means you add 4 more seats and fill them with Dems and you now win 7-6. It leaned democrat for 40 years. Does anyone know when it was last a dem minority? Also Barret, the Trump appointee, and establishment choice voted against Trump, as do other republican appointees frequently. And Jackson voted for some of the most controversial "Republican" votes. Roberts often votes with the Dems. Conservatives are pissed that Trump took advice from establishment sources and basically stacked it with Lincoln Project people who are establishment shills, and mostly vote that way, which is how the Dem members vote. He was very "balanced" unless you think democracy means only democrats at every level of everything. The court itself is more concerned about it's role than anything else. People just assume they are corrupt and that is bad for the country. Roe was a great example of a ruling that was wrong on the law when it happened, and changed twice after; was no longer popular as a policy (maybe as a word); And now that it is gone, abortions due to pills, are higher than ever. Killing Roe was also really bad politics, so they are loosing on that also. People get tied up in knots over the propaganda.
@@Videomorgue And this is the problem with him and most democrats--not willing to do what needs to be done. Voters sense this--it's why we always look weak.
It's not that innocent, actually. Americans need to see media is big business. Who owns big business, who owns our media but a small handful of reichwing and reichwing-leaning greedy uber rich. These are ppl who hate New Deal programs so Americans barely hear what Rethuglicons plan to do to destroy their precious Social Security, Medicare, etc... and these greedy rw also hate to pay their own taxes. It's Rethuglicons that constantly give tax breaks, tax subsidies out to their greedy rich donors & themselves. That's why media today stinks. They want fascism.
Corporations can't report on themselves objectively. Issues such as workplace regulation, business regulation and taxation are highly curtailed. Unfortunately, American Corporations have given themselves so much secrecy and suppression ability that their employees are no longer able to practice real journalism or science. What we need is better standards for journalism. All these contractual restrictions on journalism need to be stated explicitly. When they're too restrictive, the person is no longer a journalist. Also, when the issue covered is one in conflict with bias, this person is no longer a journalist. The Corporation, and its institutional secrecy, need to be exposed. Fiction writers aren't journalists.
Democrats need to learn how to argue.... You're not voting for a man, you are voting for an idea, a system. You aren't voting for Joe, you are voting for "DEMOCRACY." You either believe in it or not!
But you ARE voting for the man......he's the one making the decisions......this is no time for sentimentality......if Trump wins, the USA, as well as other countries like Ukraine, are in big trouble......
Exactly.incumbent president is in better position. It’s not just Biden it’s the people voting for Biden, voting him back in office and AFTER November CONTINUING to support him during his presidency. And continuing to support democracy.
You are supporting the machine, not Biden. Biden does not call the shots, he is there to make it look somewhat legit, even though that is failing quickly.
I don't know wtf Biden's team is doing but it certainly is not commensurate with the threat we're facing. This is the whole game, and he's playing fucking patty cakes. I'm beyond frustrated. Bob is 1100% right when he says Biden is in denial. He's also in denial that Trump won't throw him AND Hunter in prison should he get back in office
Can Democrats PLEASE take a civics class? The United States is not a Democracy! You are embarrassing yourself saying you are voting for Democracy! We are a Constitutional Republic! There is a huge difference!
Because the people who support Trump don't care about any information that calls into question their idol. There is so much negative information already out there about Trump, and non of it moves his supporters.
Because the press wants a right wing president, they want to raddle Biden and shake up liberal support. Plus, AIPAC and Netanyahu has publicly came out in support of another Trump presidency.
Biden couldn't even manage that, if he were given a test. That's why he's not taking it publicly. I administered those tests, and I can tell you that denial is a key feature of those with dementia. We need to replace Biden STAT, if there's any hope of defeating Trump in a few months.
What makes Trump the choice is the 4 years he already did....only president to do what he said he was going to do....and he would have gotten a lot more done if he wasn't having to fight for all 4 years he was there.

Should the President be immune from what HE says is an "Official" act? That's ridiculous. What's the solution? Remove the "Justices" that signed the opinion. Gotta do it quick.
The courts decide what is official and unofficial. The norm has been to grant Presidents immunity for official acts for decades. Scotus just affirmed what has been the unspoken agreement. And they specifically said it is not absolute immunity.

Why do we keep asking the question about Biden? Why are we not focusing on Trump's record, criminality, lies, disposition? This is a media war for ratings, not a substantial discussion of the real issue.
Because the real issue is defeating Trump, and Biden is no longer the person to do so. Everyone watching this already knows all about Trump's record etc. Finding a suitable person who can take the fight to Trump without stumbling, fumbling, stuttering, etc is the real issue. Biden isn't going to IMPROVE with age.
All I can say is that it is our civic duty to get out, vote and stop P2025. We can worry about what happens after, but it is imperative that we don’t lose sight of the goal- which is ensuring Trump NEVER gets near the White House ever again.
Absolutely. I'm not saying Biden's situation is great, but I would vote for a ficus plant instead of the GOP. People also seem to forget that there's a whole administration, the president is surrounded by people, experts and advisors.
The red team is investing an awful lot of time in trying to discredit Joe if they think it's a slam dunk, aren't they? Trump seems afraid because the only thing more devastating to his ego will be losing to Joe TWICE.

Your remarks are very encouraging to me as I’ve been so frightened for a country after the Supreme Court’s decision on immunity. And, also, the reaction to Biden’s performance at the debate. As the support for Trump proves, being able to do the job is of no concern to most people. It's more about looking and sounding like a fearless leader.
Yes... which is why ANY DEMOCRAT UNDER 60 would beat Trump. The one Dem who might not? Biden. Don't be stupid, defensive and juvenile, Democrats... don't give Trump what he wants, which is the one candidate that makes Trump look young and capable.
All this replace Biden talk is getting in the way and making Biden look ever weaker. The presidency is bigger than one person. I'm still voting for Biden.
I'd change one word there: The *_future_* is bigger than one person -- whether that person is Biden or you or me. For that reason, and because the alternative is flatly unacceptable, I'm still voting for Biden.
Exactly! Biden has earned the benefit of a doubt. If he says he is up for the job, then I take him at his word. Look, if he can't do the job then we have a peaceful transfer of power to Kamala. Why would anyone take Trump at his word!?
Best take yet. Thank you for the thoughtful and measured delivery which is allowing me to process this and not just ignore it all out of hopelessness and fear
Biden was so forceful in his State of the Union and that is why his behavior at the debate was so hard to understand. If he is replaced Trump will walk away with the election because the Democrats don't have time to really promote anyone else. Biden did admit that he was not up to a good level at that debate. The big issue is how to fight a cult.
You people don't even know how to fight. Biden demonstrated that on stage. You think flooding the comments section will impact the electorate, but you're only creating an echo chamber to further detach your ideology from reality. Ineptitude is the Achilles heel of your current political party, and that will not change under current leadership.
Forget about cult crap. Biden needs to talk about Project 2025. You aren't even mentioning it obviously you either didn't know about it because if you did, you would be fearing for your own life. 900 pages of fascism brought to us by dozens of extremist reichwing conservative groups on Day 1 by the orange Hitler 2.0 himself. Look it up, please. Educate yourself. Biden knew about this plan & never got a chance to talk about it. Hitler 2.0 REFUSES to even admit he knows about it because it is so dark, so bleak and cruel that when any American finds out this is the Rethuglicon plan they want to force on us, reichwing voters will reject it like The Plague.
Gish gallop is the reason he did not do well. I t is the technique where one person spews so much that the other person cannot possibly refute? There's so much to refute. It's like a barrage and it is especially effective against somebody with a speech impediment. That's what Trump did. He knew what he was doing. Notice he completely and blatantly ignored. Many almost most of the questions didn't answer them. He just barraged all the stuff that he's been talking about and it was impossible to refute anything. Because there was too much to refute. It's too bad that people fall for that crap. It is a technique that is very much looked down upon by debaters, but the public who love optics are impressed by it.
I’m not saying whether Joe Biden should or shouldn’t step away from the campaign or what I think the Dems should do. But I will say the Stephanopoulos interview was one long, relentless bullying session trying to get Biden to say he’s not good enough. Joe was clearly saying that he’s doing the work of POTUS well every day. Also, when asked if he would take a thorough neurological and cognitive assessment, he basically deferred to his doctor’s recommendations, which is what most of us would also do. No matter what aging struggles Biden is dealing with, I’m voting for him because the Republican alternative is utterly unacceptable.
If Biden is the Democrats nominee, he will suffer a humiliating defeat to Trump and the Republicans will get a majority in both chambers. If you hated this Supreme Court, wait until you see the next one (7-2) that Trump-Moscow Mitch will give you! Nice going Blue MAGA; vote Biden!
No nominee should be "anointed." This is how we got into this mess in the first place, by not having a fair/balanced Dem primary without any Dem primary debates. I call for an open convention. It certainly wouldn't encompass the full "will of the people," but it would be more Democratic than an anointment.

Anyone who has taken care of an elderly parent is concerned about Biden. Many don’t want to vote for either but many undecided may choose DT. Many elderly with loss of mental and physical capacity will deny and are defiant. This is what I saw in the interview. I’m afraid for our country.
I feel that "they" are the media. Im a voter. I am with the league of women voters and talk to a lot of people and i have had most people who tell me that they didnt want Biden because of his age but they are still going to vote for him. So i woukd like for us to get behind him and push. It is too late to elect a different person.
Why are people still talking about this? Biden will never drop out. He won't. Even if his approval falls to zero and his donors stop. He doesn't believe the polls. He doesn't believe anyone except his own faith in himself. Nobody can replace him if he is unwilling. That's not a thing, therefore I expect he will stay in the race, and ultimately will lose by quite a wide margin (see the end). Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. That's the way it goes. The ultra radicals will get everything they ever wanted. The ordinary American people will experience their real agenda, and they'll have no choice but to accept it. Maybe Americans need to live under an authoritarian dictatorship for the next half-century or century to understand it isn't all that. Biden's approval is very low, and he has set the bar very low for himself. If he has it in him to have a knockout debate in Sept, he could win. People love a true underdog story.
@user-kw2yq9nm9u How many years should someone get for taking showers with their daughter that were "probably inappropriate"? For taking Chinese and Ukrainian bribes? Can't be a lefty w/o being a hypocrite.
What should Democrats do? The President should use his new king's power the Supreme Court gave him and jail the 5 justices who did it. Then replace them with qualified judges. He should also send the orange guy on a one-way trip to Leavenworth.
better yet why not north korea? kim can tell him about how he made his brother into cheese and served him to his starving people, im sure they accept felons, even though most free countries don’t. we don’t, france doesn’t, nor england, ireland scotland… he’ll be hard put to find somewhere else to go
isn’t leavenworth a military facility? i’m sure they’d love to see him and have a sense of humor, i was just making a joke. it does tick me off to know that he was conspiring with all these dictators , probably getting tips from them while on our dime and no wonder he didn’t get anything done, he was too busy working on project 2025, the bastard.
i’m going to write him and tell him to talk about project 2025, if only 29% of americans have seen this it needs to be discussed. i’ve told people about it and asked them to pass it on to others please. there’s a show i want to see later with Biden calling him out when he’s trying to distance himself from it, just like the wish washy stand on abortion rights
Regardless of who they pick aa a Biden replacement it would be just too little too late. I do not agree, what the DNC needs is to support their candidate plain and simple. I’m just amazed at how fast people forget how many people died during COVID as a direct result of trump’s policies and are so easily willing to vote for him again
@@di380 i know what you mean, i remember everything (be that good or bad and i totally agree covid ,trillion given to the top 1% and added to the national debt, thanks rump king im sure the rich love you not he park’s when you shut down the federal government epa regulations lifted, let her blow
President Biden still gives us the best chance to win. Folks should look up "brokered convention" and see why BOTH parties try to avoid them. The last time it happened was in 1968 when LBJ stepped down. The Dem convention was an acrimonious mess, and that's how we got Nixon.
The Democrats have quite a problem, its rather hilarious watching it. They picked a guy with known signs of this 5 years ago. Then he got worse. Now the problem is, they can't hide it. Wait till he does something really weird like rubbing the black guys arm.
Nixon was definitely not what the U.S. needed, we needed someone who had interpersonal skills and was able to negotiate with both sides, the Democrats and the Republicans. Seems that Red Tips would just be a retreaded Nixon, not worth the tax monies he'd cost us.
That convention was brokered because Sirhan Sirhan shot Bobby in the head. LBJ dropped out after the anti-war Gene McCarthy's strong showing in NH, although there was some reporting he was already planning on getting out due to his health. RFK was presumptive nominee after winning CA primary.
Did he watch the debate? His answer wasn't "no", it was "I don't think so". A couple days after a turning point event, he DIDN'T REMEMBER if he had watched it afterward.
It was more like an intervention than an interview. At this point the media is doing more damage to the Dem ticket than Joe did to himsef at the debate. I'm voting old joe over the psycho.
Biden has the right, like every citizen, to privacy regarding medical records. It's invasive and rude to ask him to prove his fitness through a neurological exam, unless it's mandated for all candidates for office. I'm fed up with the media circus blowing everything up for ratings and money. Intelligent journalism is dying, if not dead already.
If President Biden is required to have a neurological exam, then so should tRump. MAGA has sure working hard to influence the media against Joe. Interesting that is comes along with the unconstitutional Extreme Court ruling, isn't it?
3 месяца назад
he also has the right, like everyone, to disclose his medical condition. so your "point" is irrelevant.
Yes, let's see if trump would submit to a new neurological exam by an independent (non partisan) NOT Dr. Jackson/Johnson! He is not credible or a specialist in this field.
Have you done any research into Reichwing politicians plan called Project 2025 yet? Because if you did, if you knew what orange Hitler has planned for us, you wouldn't bother with Biden's mental state. Please focus on the other guy right now!! Voting Biden/Harris. 💙🌊
Because pretending "all is well" but not talking about it would make it just worse. It would made Stephanopoulus look complicit in covering it up. He gave Biden a chance to clear the air. Sadly he didn't he does what a lot of Democrats do ... pretend it's not there.
ABC is Corporate Media. I am done with all this 💩 not listening to all this negativity. I am more than determined to vote n get President Biden re-elected. I don’t hear of any person they think can beat tRump. tRump would love to run against a black woman . This country couldn’t even get a White Woman elected / we got tRump ! We need to stick with Joe !! Just stop this crap !! Start talking about president and get him reelected. You are getting tRump elected with this kind of talk. Gavin Newson wouldn’t betray our President , he has stood firm his support for Biden . In fact he in out campaigning for him ! Which Democrats should all be doing .
Jill Bidens' support & encouragement for her husband, while admirable, is not doing the country a service. The president should watch his debate to see what the country sees. Please don't let this be a Justice Ginsberg moment for the people who don't want a dear leader. 😢
It's not admirable. She's trying to hold on to power. These people would cut anyone's throat to get what they want. You can't get anywhere near that level without being a stone-cold man-eating shark.
She can't convince him. She's never influenced him in the past. The more people ask him to leave, the more he will stay. There's zero % chance he leaves the race.
I thought that by moving to Ecuador, the intensity of my anger for Maga hatred and Democratic ineptitude would be less. But it does not. As the USA falls, so does other countries fall.
🎯 You were the 1st person to recognize that! There has been a dramatic rise in Americans wanting to leave our country lately. They try to escape what is coming their way, no matter where they may go, it's coming for them. Reichwing billionaires won't be content & stop after destroying USA. No. They want to own the world. They want no accountability as they raid tax coffers everywhere, polluting our earth without anyone to stop them, making war with any country that gets in their way. Putin threatens all of Europe if Biden isn't at the helm here! How many Americans leave the country & think that their pensions or Social Security will still be sent to them in that new foreign home they found. The fascists plan on changing that!! Kiss all guarantees goodbye if you think that just moving out of US solves your problems. What most ppl don't realize is once you move out, you have no say at all in anything in this country. Many would say we don't living here, either. Not true. We still vote. We still can tell our politicians what we think of them and if it's only when they run for reelection that they ever care, it's still my opinion, or my life they would care about, even if it's temporary. Outside, you don't matter because you can't vote for them. As long as we can vote, atleast we still have some say. Nevertheless less fascism is on the move. We need to fight back, not run away.
Hi, Marilyn. I am in Canada. It is not my country. But as you note, the ugliness spreads. I have a son who lives in California. And our economy's are interwoven. We get your entertainment. We get your company's setting up here and your products. Some of us like to visit the US. If Trump wins, I will not go down there unless I really have to.
Again another excellent discussion of ‘24 election campaign season. Thankful for Robert’s hopeful closing comment on the basic good faith of average American to do the right thing. Look forward each week of having a cup of coffee with both of you. Even though the subject matter is mostly grave there is a peaceful, logical atmosphere which calms the soul and gives hope for a better reality in the future. Thank you very much!!!
You should view the Trump immunity case for what it was and is: 1) the functional equivalent of the German Enablement Act of 1933 and 2) one more step in the Supreme Court’s “legislative agenda” to implement Project 2025.
Technically it was the Gesetz zur Behebung der Not von Volk und Reich, issued January 1933. But your point is spot on. SCOTUS has shown thier cards, implement Project 2025 at all costs, they will act again Nov-Jan. That is the real risk ahead.
Well Robert, it's NOT fine if someone with morals is in the WH. This ruling is NEVER fine. Of all people, the president should be held to the highest of accountability.
Huh? Without morals, do you mean. That is everyone one of them. Obama murdered american citizens, mass murder is the baseline for every president. People are also forgetting that immunity only covers the President, anyone carrying out his orders can be arrested. If Trump sent SEAL team 6 to do something inside the US, Trump might be OK, but the SEALs would not. He could pardon them. So that is how it always worked. Only the dumb ass democrat Lawfare specialist thought Presidential Immunity wasn't a thing, but Presidents can, and do murder people all the time. That is half of what the CIA does. Even if Immunity didn't exist the word would get out, and the deed would be done, and nobody would be the wiser. There were not arrests for JFK, or RFK, and RFK wasn't even hit by any of sirhan's bullets. In the worst case the perps can be disappeared or pardoned. This doesn't change anything.
From the onset, I will make it abundantly clear that, I, who is ideologically the antithesis of just about everything progressives advocate, am not looking for a quarrel to defend Trump. Because it’s an indisputable reality that Trump is exceedingly deluded. And this is decidedly so with his trade, and foreign affairs/defence policies. However, it is also an indisputable reality that the extremes within the Dems are as crazy as the extremes within the MAGA mold happen to be. During the 26-minute RU-vid, Robert Reich, and Heather said on a total of four occasions that the Biden administration has inaugurated a number of good policies. What they maybe, however, weren’t designated by either person. So, I can only speculate that they would include Biden signing the Executive Order to greatly inhibit mining or drilling of fossil fuels. And, quite likely, they would cheer on Biden claiming he “created 15 million jobs”, which, of course, is as big furphy in the US, as it is with Canada, or any other country, which locked down their economies during Covid that engendered many millions of people being made redundant. Hence, the “15 million jobs” Biden (and, again, with a host of other countries, too) that Joe claims he “created” are overwhelmingly jobs that already existed and started up again after restrictions were lifted. Alas, neither Robert or Heather had anything to say about Biden, dismantling the southern border and allow up to 10 million people to swarm in and in the OVERWHELMING degree became entire, to net-burdens upon the economy. One aspect of this prevails with the 450,000 people under the age of 15. And the cost to the US economy to just sustain them in a 12-month period is NEAR ON $4.7 billion. I arrive at this calculation by multiplying 450,000 x $200pw x by 52 weeks. Another extraneous, and onerous aspect of being inundated with interlopers, prevails with NYC, Chicago, LA, SF, and Denver, spending over $15bn between them to house them. Now, there might well be some rational to this economically if, as it was back in the 1950s, and until the late 1980s, when there were manufacturing bases right across the north east of the US, who were desperate for compliant and, better still, skilled workers, because it would be beneficial to all and sundry. However, taking into VERY careful consideration that, with pertinent respect to the hundreds of thousands of Africans, and those from the Caribbean with the equivalent of K8-10 educations, and low-skill levels means they will NEVER be employed in gainful, and well-paid occupations. Moreover, because nearly all of these categories are males between 18-28 years of age means they will be enduring incumbrances upon America. For those of us who are au fait with history (well, with regards to me, it’s certainly at a non-academic level) are fully aware that the reason why the Nazi’s emerged, and became the nightmare they did, is because its adherents were enticed to join the National Socialists to fight communism. So, the dystopian reality as to why DJT is currently long-odds-on favorite on Betfair, at $1.69 - 9 days ago he was around $1.9 - to win the presidency. And this is indubitably because there are millions of people who are middle-of-the-roaders politically, that are aghast with the numerous detrimental social agendas that progressive loonies on the left of the Dems have already, and, indeed, want to implement further. Essentially, they are all in the DEI basket, which terrify people they’re being shuffled into a total dystopian sphere. The primary alternative to Joe in a poor cognitive state, is Kamala Harris, who in the 40 odd months as the VP, has proven herself to be a calamitous incompetent. So having certain parties claiming that she would “wipe the floor in any debate with Trump.” Well, judging from the numerous interviews she has been questioned in from about June 2020, totally defies Robert’s claim that Harris is a great debater.
rumper was never even eligible to run, but he lied and told them that he was Bigly rich and they never checked out his 7-8 bankruptcies or years of playing the courts, he’s not rich lmfao, if he was he’d have been able to pay the $500,000 bond. all he had left is a bunch of old properties that probably need maintenance. i really laughed when eric said and when i asked them about the bond, they laughed yes those New Yorkers have got his number all right
On NUMEROUS occasions Biden has said he did not do well at his debate. George asked him 30 ways to stop running. Dems---better be perfect. Judgement---would be great if commentators had it. This discussion reminds me of "Hillary has a cold. Hillary has a neurological ailment. Hillary is frail".
Last week Bob you said, and I quote, "There has to be a reason why Pres. Biden was so bad in the debate." There was, in the interview he said, "I had a cold & I was exhausted." I'm 25 yrs younger & I'm not getting out of bed if that condition. The stuttering & gaffs have been there for 40 yrs. Now it's an indication of a new neurological issue that renders him incapable of doing the job he's done up 'til now? Now you say "Who's they?" about the donors, Dems & pundits who are publicly calling for him to step aside. I'm "Ridin' w. Biden' b'cuz he gets good work that benefits working class people done & done right. Which II believe he'll do that work to the day he dies. The US was a disaster 4 yrs ago. He deserves our support.
people were dancing in the streets to get rid of his a$$. i remember everything about him bcos evil bears watching. i quit paying attention bcos i thought he was gone dammit and i can’t believe the jerk is running again, wtf, people better remember, to not remember is too much, he committed soo many atrocities in those 4 years
I am a Canadian and watching everything that is going on in the US, I am scared. And really sympathise with Americans who do not have a choice but to vote for senile person who is definitely not appropriate for the most important job in the world just to prevent the entire World from going to hell. At the same time I cannot believe that the first country in the world does not have any fool-proof mechanisms to ensure people do not have to make this terrible choice.
Fools....we are free. You vote Trump, then you will see...... You'll remember back and realize you gave away your rights and, will never have a chance to change it back.
Media has always been complicit in Trump's rise to power. The billions of dollars of free media time as a result of the sensationalist nature of his outrageous behavior through this constant exposure was instrumental in his election.
#379"Tax the Rich" is dog whistling for the *Old White Blue Blood Dixiecrat PIäntatïon Party,* one built on bicycling our Public Treasury into private offshore DNC tax havens. 😂🎉
No. The people who vote for Trump DON'T LIKE THE CHANGES people like Mr. Reich here, and other Leftists want while attempting to transform the country into what they want it to be. Those people will support ANYONE who opposes this change. It's not like Democrats want the original country based on the 1789 country, just updated, they want the whole country to.be like Urban California, or Chicagoland or NYC Metro Area in culture and how it operates. Places like Iowa, the heart of "Americana" Culture, for example, would never go along with that, which is why Iowa and Ohio are no longer true swing states. They are now "Red" states that have Democrats too conservative to do well in Liberal places like NYC Metro Area.
They spent the whole show saying that Biden should drop out, then they finish the show by saying Biden should stay in! Ridiculous! It made them look so stupid.
You realize this is undermining Biden! No help at all. We need to beat the N@z! Trump! He says here that he is anxious but this podcast does not help us.
Whatever happens, we cannot allow Trump to get into the Oval Office again. If it was horrific the first time, I can't even imagine what catastrophic damage he would do without anyone putting the brakes on. I too wish he had not opted to run again and I am totally disgusted with his stance in Gaza, but another term of Trump will devastate the entire world. 🌎
I think the only way Biden may alleviate voters' fears about his age related deterioration is to select three of the nation's top gerontologists (the Surgeon General selects one, Biden's personal physician selects another, and Dr. Anthony Fauci selects the third) to each do an independent medical workup on the President and mae each doctor's finding public along with one consensus finding of the three after discussing among them. The voters of the U.S. are entitled to have this information. If Biden balks at this (or similar) process, he should be asked to step aside.
You're overthinking it. All with need it to have a neurologist examine (both candidates ) then release the results to the public. If Biden thinks he's fit for office he should be willing to undergo testing. But the won't because his campaign knows he will fail.
@@dreamabyss5423 : Maybe rather than me overthinking, it sounds like mybe you are underthinking. You've already concluded that he would fail even though you have not one hint of medical proof that it is true.
This undoubtedly is the DNC's fault for blocking other potentials and staving off any competition in the primaries. We've been tricked and forced into this situation and it's absolute BS.
I will never forget Nixon and his betrayal of those who fell on their swords for him and Ford didn't pardon them. They went to jail and so should have Nixon and so should 31 Felonies. Once you believe your bloated ego, all is lost for everyone's rights and protections.
Yes And you get this. 1. It takes the typical U.S. household $1,069 more a month just to purchase the same goods and services that it did three years ago. 2. Two-thirds of the respondents to one recent survey indicated that they had to take action to deal with rising financial stress within the past year. Those actions included “cutting back on spending, skipping monthly bills, or taking an additional job”. 3. Home insurance rates have risen by 38 percent since 2019. 4. Home rental prices are up 30 percent since Joe Biden entered the White House. 5. A whopping 61 percent of U.S. renters cannot afford the rent on a median-priced apartment in the United States right now. 6. Gasoline prices are up 46 percent since Joe Biden entered the White House. 7. The average rate on a 30 year fixed mortgage is up 148 percent since Joe Biden entered the White House. 8. According to Zillow, the monthly mortgage payment on a typical home in this country has almost doubled during the past four years. 9. One recent poll discovered that 44 percent of retired Americans are considering going back to work because the cost of living has become so oppressive. 10. New home sales fell 11.3 percent last month. 11. Pending home sales are dropping at the fastest rate ever recorded. 12. According to the House Budget Committee, there have been more than 8 million migrant encounters nationwide while Joe Biden has been in the White House. We truly are in the midst of an immigration crisis that is far greater than anything that we have ever witnessed before. 13. Thanks to our unprecedented immigration crisis, the homeless population in the city of Chicago actually tripled in just one year. 14. Murder rates are up by double digit percentages in many major U.S. cities this year. 15. Continuing jobless claims just shot up to the highest level in almost three years. 16. The number of job openings in the United States has dropped to the lowest level in more than 3 years. 17. Rite Aid just announced that it will be closing 27 more stores. That is on top of more than 500 stores that it has already decided to shut down. 18. Walgreens plans to close approximately one-fourth of its 8,600 U.S. stores. If the economy really was “booming”, why would they be doing this? 19. Today, 20 percent of the entire population of the state of California is living in poverty. 20. According to one recent survey, 46 percent of Americans don’t even have 500 dollars saved up. 21. So far, the U.S. has spent a total of approximately 175 billion dollars on the war in Ukraine, and the Russians are still winning.
It's shocking that the Dems do not have a candidate that will inspire people. It's getting down to the program and someone who can champion it. But the Dem senators voted against Bernie's amendments including dental and eye care for seniors virtually unanimously. Can I in conscience vote for senators who deny basic principles of the New Deal? I'm fed up! We have the money but we will not help the people, and they are smart enough to know it.
The 'New Democrat' neoliberal takeover, the Clinton Democratic Leadership Council (DLC), and the oligarchic Third Way think tank are in control of the party and dictate who is 'electable and what policies are 'possible' or what 'incremental change' is allowed. They are mid 20th Century Republican-lite corporate lackeys.

Biden said Hunter's lap top was Russian disinformation. Biden said he's never discussed Hunter's business deals with Hunter. Biden has received millions selling out America. Biden showered with his almost adult daughter (his daughter in her book said it was perverse ). Biden touches and smells young girls. The only thing Biden will be good at is giving republicans a big victory in November.
I'm a medical provider, while I agree he should get a new Neuro exam, I disagree that he should share results. We have all hear the ridiculous "Man, woman, camera" brag from the senile Trump whose performance was also terrible. Let's leave the professional exams and results to professionals and just assure proper care is given!
Im a masters prepared nurse with 37 years experience. Are you asking for trump to get a neuro exam. IF your a medical provider you should know as professionals we NEVER ASSUME cognitive decline automatically based on age. Trump had in many speeches garbled words, stopped mid speech because he was not sure of words etc. plus HE does have a family history of dementia.
Who says he doesn't get proper care? You think? That isn't the issue, the issue is whether he is competent. As someone said, if Biden was your dad, would you take the keys to the car. If you have been through that, the answer is an obvious "yes". He crashed his bike, just for starters. But it is impossible to replace him unless he withdraws or dies, and even then it will hurt the election because he is already hard wired to results in several swing states. People did the politics first, because that can be done by anyone. Then they consulted the law, and that is a nightmare for replacement. So of course people have to say he is fine, or whatever.
We need a president more than from 10 AM to 4 PM. I’m not sure Joe Biden will still be alive at the end of his term and that is sad.. You should not spend your remaining four years as the president of the United States. We need a younger Democratic candidate.
While President Biden's interview with George S. wasn't what we had hoped it would be, I lay the responsibility for that at George's doorstep, not Joe's. The entire interview resembled nothing so much as an interrogation scene from an old gangster movie in which the cops have arrested the wrong man but are determined to make him confess to a crime he didn't commit. I kept waiting for George to shine a 1,000 watt light in Joe's face, start beating him with a rubber hose, and yelling "Say you're incompetent! Say you're incompetent! Say it, dammit!" You pointed out that Joe's answers highlighted his successful policies when he wasn't being asked policy questions. The issue here (in my mind) is...why WEREN'T there any policy questions? At least some of the questions in that interview should have been related to Biden's track record, his policies, and his accomplishments--which are impressive, manifold, and (as the president pointed out) evidence of his competency as a leader. But no, ol' George totally ignored any and all of that and just kept finding new ways to say over, and over, and over again, "You're incompetent, aren't you?" I'm not saying that his interview should have been structured to lionize President Biden, but it at least should have been objective and unbiased--which it clearly wasn't, by any stretch of the imagination. Furthermore, the idea of trying to nominate a new candidate only 3 1/2 months before the election is basically suicide for the democrats. Personally, I love Kamala Harris; I voted for her for senate and for attorney general of CA, and I think she's a terrific vice president. I've no doubt that she'd be a great president as well, but if you think for one moment that she'd have a better chance of winning against that orange psychopath than Joe Biden, you are deluding yourself and GROSSLY underestimating the level of misogyny among the population of this country, let alone the level of racism. You can disagree as you choose, but I think the best course of action is to put everything we have behind Joe Biden, get him re-elected, and then once he's in office, if decides to step down after a year or two, Kamala Harris can become our president for the remainder of the term and there's nothing the repugnant republicans can do to prevent it. We'll still end up with four more years of good, solid leadership, and our democracy won't go to hell in a hand basket.
Bob, Joe was evasive? How about Trump not answering even one question in the debate? That was evasive. We have Joe and Kamala and their team. We can keep pecking at the wound or do what we can to solidify opposition to a dictator.
@@wvu05 They sabotaged this back 5 years ago.. All the signs were there, but Biden had to be the first black female VP elected. They could not pick anyone else, because he is the guy with the most skeletons in the closet.
This is the kind of coversation we should've had around Hillary 2016. Biden has the Power of Incumbency on his side, Trump lost despite having it in 2020 and it still wasn't enough to win! Trump literally has not changed, his party hasn't changed, because they never believed he actually lost. That's the kind of thinking that alone will sink Trump's re-election. Biden in this situation, all we need to do is Back Biden, Trump goes away, away!? No?
Probably neoliberal, corporate democrats who want to keep neoliberalism, which means austerity for us, and more money for the rich. Biden's policies started steering the nation back towards workers. Read "The Biden Administration Just Declared the Death of Neoliberalism" by Eric Levitz in the Intelligencer in the New Yorker magazine.
I like how Abraham Lincoln said a "Government of the people, by the people, for the people". I am beginning to feel that I need to get involved, even more. I have enough trouble, managing my own life, but this 'government of the people, by the elites, for the corporations' thing has, perhaps, gone too far. When did a piece of paper (the corporation) get more rights than I, a sentient human? Dare I ever hope we can get the grotesque amounts of money out of politics? I believe it was Lawrence Lessig, from whom I first heard the phrase "small dollar, publicly financed, elections".
Democrats need all the help they can get. I'm going to do some phone banking and canvassing, and I signed up to send postcards to voters through Turnout PAC (which will mail you the postcards. You have to provide the stamps and write the messages, and they'll give you the message to write. Also you have to get a minimum of 200 postcards, so it helps if you have people helping you out, and you have to buy the stamps. Apparently you can get postcards stamps that are a little cheaper, but it's still costly to buy 200 of them).
Heather you are correct about Kamala! I think if we had Kamala with Gavin Newsome as VP , that would be THE ticket! They would be able together to get across to the people what a horrible person Donald Trump is & rain down true democracy on America ❤️
I'm just one person who doesn't call their representative, occasionally contributes to a candidate, and has pretty much voted for Democrats since 1992. No matter what, I will do so this year. It's one of the few powers I have as a citizen. What's been happening over the past week with the Democratic party looks pathetic and weak. And it feels like my primary vote's going to be invalidated by insider politicking. I'm sure I will not be alone in feeling that.
Unless my fellow democrats want to lose this election by playing into the hands of those who need us to do what they cant then I suggest we pick of the pieces and move on. This whole thing has had a life span far past the whole truth about the debate. This being scared of our own shadow must stop. We have a strong, reliable incumbent with a VP ready to assume her duties as president if a tragic event should occur. Please get back to attacking the man trying to overthrow out country instead of attacking the man who will save it.
