NOW WHAT??? Owner refuses to take back the car after $$$$$$ repairs!!!! 

My dad had a 68 Ford Galaxy back when I was.a kid with the 390. That thing sounded great with glass packs. I'm 66 years old. Great video.

This car reminds me of a 1970 Custom 500 I had a long time ago. I bought if from my sister who bought it from my brother. That car was probably the best car I ever owned. Your LTD looks great.

I bought my '69 LTD (tan color) for $300 from my parents in 1985. It had a 302 ci engine and got 26 mpg on the highway. Had over 122k miles on it but I had to sell it after 10 months due to severe frame rust. Loved that car. Oh in case you don't know, there is a vacuum switch on the drivers side front corner under the hood to keep the head light covers open for cleaning!

Man that is one nice land yacht…i had a ‘73 ltd with a 400m back in the ‘90s , it had a 2 barrel as well but had dual glass packs and sounded evil….drove like a sofa goin down the road…..but one day the fmx transmission decided to leave the chat and only left me with reverse…so i did what any red blooded american would do and abandoned her at the shell station😂😂😂😂

I am so sick and tired of defective Chinese parts in America,when are we going to start making our own parts for the aftermarket enthusiast.

Had a friend that had a 1970 XL convertible, I think it had a 390 in it, it was red with a white top.

took me 25 years to get the 63 1/2 galaxy from the old couple down the street. Now im 68 and not feeling it, have had it 2 years now. Its a daily driver but need to fix tail lights and brake lights still. Turn signals and all other lights work. Turned on heater and all the tore up head liner blew out, another project. Its all original and kept covered in their garage for 25 years at least with 78 K miles. I put new fuel tank, carb, breaks n bearings, timing chain , fuel lines were vacuum lines LOL. Took me two weeks to fix it all here in my garage. Not a mechanic but been working on my 72 F250 camper special and 68 GTO since the mid 70s so have done quite a bit of repairs. Might have sell it to roof my house.

I wish I could afford to buy that car. I'd drive it to work a couple of days a week. Then the car shows on the weekends

heat tube for automatic choke as the manifold heats up small amount of hot air goes thru the tube to heat up wire in the choke and it will slowly open the hotter it gets

Good job on that carb. I haven't done one like that for a few years, but I've done a hundred of them. I still do 2 or 3 Holley 4 barrels a year though because there are a lot of 2 ton trucks around here with the 366 4 bbls on them. You actually do need the choke when it"s -40 outside, pumping alone wont do it. If it does start you have to keep pumping or it'll stall. Winter gas is now better than it was in the sixties, but even a fuel injected car sprays have to more fuel when it's cold.

They make wiper blade refills for the original chrome arms instead of wedging on incorrect modern plastic arms.

So now you have to care for it. That's the problem with mechanical things. Unless they are kept in ideal conditions they will just rot. It would be a good car for some kid to learn on.

No algebra was not in business in 1969 but Carter FB was making the same basic car brighter with one little different so where do they put the bright booster light and that's the only difference and different jetting and 1969 so the kick the old block was bald app bought up bought our Carter and then they could be able to block kit from a Carter carburetor that's the way it come up with that app so he was not wrong either I've been through that before and Grandpa Franklin worked on for 90 years and he's about to age flash or older And he had a Carter AB on his 79 forward that he's saved from one of those colors and put on his 460 forward so he could pull stuff with it Better

I'm sad there will be no more videos. The '69 LTD is one of my favorite cars and this one has just enough options to make it feel luxurious. It was an all-new design (except for the powertrain) for that year, and I consider it as an overlooked collector car. Ford's full size line was loosely based on this car all the way up to 1978. But to me, the 1969 has the best styling of all.

I had a 1972 LTD 2dr 400 was a great car. My first pwr brake and pwr steering car. Enjoyed the video.

First off..beautiful LTD. The great thing about these cars, they are dead reliable, easy to work on, daily drive one and get compliments on the styling, you ride in absolute comfort. Make people wish they had not paid 40 thou for a constant pain in the A$$ rolling government regulated air bag....LOL

Australia here,that particular model was sold in the pillared 4 door form,brand new in Australia as a luxury car.The government bought a lot of them as ministerial cars.A Galaxy of that vintage,registered on road, would sell for about $30,000 to $45,000, Aust D , depending on condition. An unrestored car could not be bought for less than $20,000 aust D. Thats about $13,000 usd. American cars, even crappy ones sell for good money.

The owner did not refuse to take back the car. He made a wise decision to offer the car to you guys. You have many possible options to make out well on this car.

My Grandmother had one of these with same color combo with red interior. She let me use it to take my drivers license test and I passed the test. That was the only time I was able to drive the car, It got rear ended a short time after that. You brought back memories of the car and her. Thank you!!!

First, let me say what a nice job you did cleaning this car up and getting in reliable running order. I'm a fan of the big Fords, Lincolns and Mercurys of this era, having owned a few including a '70 XL convertible. I hope that you can enjoy this car, or find someone who can.

Since you got that car for free, you need to make everything work on it 100% like it did from the factory and do not tear it apart. Survivor that land yacht!

Must've debuted at 7:47 central time, or youtube fibbed to me, lol. That ending shocked me. I was all set to be mad at that feller, lol. If the old gas tank had been solid, we'd put some white vinegar & gravel in it and strap it to the side of a tractor wheel and drive it around for a while. That'll clean out the old rust & crud pretty good. Sounds good with the new exhaust. :) That's weird...my Pappy had a '57 Ford pickup for years. I think he finally sold it off in about 1985. I remember it as red with paint spatter all over it until he finally broke down and painted it in 1982, but he didn't buy any paint. He just mixed together a little of this paint and a little of that and it wound up being burple...mostly brown but with an odd purplish hue to it. It was unique to say the least. That cockeyeded sounds like what we called cattywampussed.

I seen years ago 79 80s, that the overseas crap was a problem, but everyone wanted the cheapest part and people would say, dam near the same, I would aways pay the extra for USA parts, Even today I continue to buy USA new old stock, or made in the USA, Never liked the CHINA 💩 myself , Waste of money to buy aftermarket nonsense

Great video and such a cool ending to the rescue. I wish more people did that instead of just parking them somewhere never to see the light of day. Sometimes never to move under their own power if they even get turned on. Still remember the first time as a kid going to a car show and seeing a car the owner was really interested how powerful it was. Only issue was it was never turned on yup engine torn down high performance everything and that was it. Doesn't want the headers or anything to slightly change color from the heat. I asked my dad does he collect broken watches too haha. It's the most precise watch in the world except i'll never wind or put a battery in it.

Bought a ‘70 LTD new and took a cross country trip. Drove it 7800 miles in total comfort and she never missed a beat. Traded it on a ‘73 Olds and wished I had it back. Ford built great cars back then as well as trucks. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.

I have been rebuilding, restoring, refurbishing and resurrecting cars since the 1960's and I have always said that the worse thing you can do to a car is park it or let a teenage drive it. On that particular car you will absolutely have to change the fuel pump too. The diaphragm will crack and allow fuel to go straight into the crankcase. The car will still run but you will not realize how quickly it will thin out the motor oil. Change out the old antifreeze/coolant too along with a new thermostat or you will soon have a heater core leak in the passenger floorboard.. The rotor button in the distributor cap always grows corrosion, as well.

I don't get it. The title says the owner "refused to pay," but the real deal is different. The owner gave you the car, and you are happy with that. Not what the title of the video says.
