I love the work being done artistically, which will help educate humans, and help protect our wolves, and show new images of the wolf rather than again making humans see them as so fearsome. i love wolves, and have raised and hugged wolves.
Its realllly cool that you worked with Coraline! That is my favourite movie ! The Wolf Called Wander is lovely book and hopefully this will out soon. (Even if it's 2 years later)
That book is great! I started this project before that book because I wanted to tell OR-7's story from a wolf's perspective :) Yeah it takes a long time to create your own film... scrapping together money and time from here and there, coordinating with collaborators when they have time... :P
OR-7 /journey/ wander’s story is pretty emotional I still don’t really know happened to his brother but wow he traveled far and what your doing looks cool :)
I don't know of a pre-fab kit... But you can get pre-drilled plates, hex bolts, threaded balls and threaded rod, and thumbnuts/wingnuts from a lot of hardware supply companies, although sometimes it's tricky to discover what you local supplier might call these items. And I'm not a fan of the cast plates that are included with some pre-fab kits, as machined ones are stronger & better for smoother movement and don't generally need the clean-up that castings do. From there it's all about configuring & customizing the joints to fit your animal character and the movement you want it to be able to do. We used mostly 3mm sizes on this wolf puppet. And I learned that in future I will try to stick with just Metric sizes - so much easier to keep track of & Manufacturers of SAE sizes seem to be phasing out pruducing the small sizes like 0-80, 2-72 & 4-40.
Thanks for asking. It’s still in progress. Work was interrupted by the pandemic, illness and all the collaborating artists crewed up on Pinocchio and Wendell&Wild. Those productions were incredibly supportive of their crew during the pandemic. I hope you have a chance to watch those beautiful handmade stopmo films, streaming on Netflix 💓 I’m so proud that working on Nowheres Wolf gave many of those talented artists a foot in the door to work on big production feature films💗🎥 I haven’t talked about why I’ve not forged ahead much by myself, as I’ve been mainly concerned with caregiving my terminally ill dad. He would have liked to have seen Nowheres Wolf finished - he was always supportive of my art and an amazing teacher, sadly he passed away last month🥺😢
