NPS NEPA Training 2022 - Categorical Exclusions 

In this session, NEPA Technical Expert Lindsay Gillham reviews requirements for categorial exclusions, which are generally referred to as CEs or CatEx. The use of a CE is one pathway for complying with the National Environmental Policy Act, or NEPA. CEs are categories of actions that have no potential for significant environmental effect and are therefore excluded from the requirement to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
