My team and you need proper four props to play the middle successfully not manufacturing second rowers or locks into props. Both Martin and A Crichton get through 80mins as so all decent second rowers in the NRL. He's probably not ready to be in the 1-17 for Origin but if the 18th is activated it's only been eligible twice and used once he's the ideal player as the 18th player would really only be required for 15mins max. I would seriously consider omitting Moses who went missing when the Eels were up 18-10 and the Bulldogs down to 12 players he was shocking and having a halves combo as Burton/Walker. I still can't believe the doubts over Burton he's one of the form halves in the game right now, he's fit and he's explosive. Walker has been a key reason for Souths recent turnaround and he makes players around him play better something you need in Origin and something Luai lacks. Burton has to be in the 17 he just covers too many different roles because of his running game ability. It's also time to have the very short priced favourite for Captain of the Year and one of the main two reasons for Canterbury's turnaround (other being the Big Dog himself) as the NSW captain. Laurie Daley got the NSW role at 23 with no club experience, didn't really feature in the 1991 origin series and wasn't even considered a leader at Canberra as they had Meninga, Belcher and Stuart the main 3 leaders in 1991-92. Crichton will have that type of impact. He's the best person for the role. NSW need to realise time has passed Jake by at rep level and players like Luai and Yeo just don't cut it at rep level whereas unbelievable at Penrith.

Let's be honest whoever they pick in the halves will have a minimal impact. QLD game plan the maturity in the halves and star 80min players in the right position who are in form will be hard to beat.

What defines a marquee player? Is it developed or bought? Some of the players branded marquees have been developed by their clubs. What does Hammer have to do to be classified a marquee player? I still hear commentary the Dolphins don't have a marquee and still yet to land one. Hammer ticks so many boxes for marquee. He's a match winner, he's produced highlights reels, he's stepped up in Origin, he's stepped up at International level, he's brand name and the kids absolutely love him. I heard players like Ryan Matterson and Reed Mahoney mentioned as Dolphins marquee misses. Mahoney is having a great season with the Bulldogs but he's a solid hooker who works hard and is thriving on the pest role until one referee decides that's enough. Last year Canterbury tried to make him captain and make him the key focus point of attack neither worked he's gone back to the tradesman player with a good dummy half kick. We won't even get into Matterson that's laughable. Surely Thomas Flegler (injuries are an unlucky part of the game) and Herbie Farnworth are more marquee status than some of the so-called Dolphins misses. As for the developed marquee which Hammer has become. Nicho Hynes is considered a marquee player. He like Hammer was a bench player at his former club. Hynes has been glorified into a marquee player I'm yet to see that other than he flicks his hair really well and has a cheerleader in Phil Rothfield.
