I gotta admit even though I dropped the game 2 months ago, Ermac really impressed me. The pressure, the combos and also Mavado had some nice combo extensions. I will probably return to the game for a while to try him out.
Let us not forget about the dumpster fire that MK1 currently is. Ermac won't save the game just as the previous characters didn't. He's a step in the right direction though! I'm so glad he doesn't float around like a superhero.
Seems there is some new flawless block reversal too. New defense mechanism too will be a great idea for some of the attack sequence in this game especially Johnny and kenshj is insane
My main focus is the changes they made to Reptile in the trailer. He has a new projectile and can cancel that lizard drop now. Makes me wonder what else they added.
Ermac definitely has that dawg in him in this trailer. Maybe there is hope for NRS, especially with what is happening in T8 scene. Maybe I’ll buy MK again, but like some Ultimate edition on sale with a huge discount, cause I refunded after a month of playing on release. And yes, Sub-Zero must have his damage back
This is why your channel is doing better than other MK1 haters. It's important to take the good when it's there. Also, universally hating a game greatly detracts from prospective viewers. We might still get a Kombat Pack 2. This game has so much potential. I recently discovered Ashrah/Janet and it got me away from Tekken 8 because I was having so much fun.. That's what people are missing. You have to spend real time with the game to find a character/kameo synergy you really enjoy. Right when I thought I was done with this game, Ashrah/Janet came outta the woodwork and completely re-invigorated my love of the game.. Half the reason people hate this game is often because they're not good at it. I found myself feeling frustrated trying the majority of kameos - but every once in a while I find something I really enjoy, and when that happens it becomes one of my favorite fighting games.. Ashrah/Janet is beast-like.
@Lance.Gardenhire Tom is the most knowledgeable so frankly, he gets a pass from me because he knows about fighting games. Dynasty is just a disgruntled ex-NRS affiliate, so I can't really take much about what he says of the game too seriously. And yes, FATE endlessly hates the game. I sit somewhere in the middle of all this - I noticed the issues, but still greatly enjoy playing the game (it's my favorite game atm)..

@Lance.Gardenhire Mike Hollow almost went down that same path and I was like, don't do that! You're gonna waste your talent as a potential great voice for podcasting with all that negativity. I've seen it happen to MULTIPLE RU-vidrs who did nothing but hate this game. Not even joking.
The problem to me is that even if Ermac is just amazing, fun to play, and has character expression… he’d be the only one. You’ve said it here that one character can’t save it, I don’t think MK1 can ever be saved personally my only hope is that the next MK will be more in line with this Ermac. Also we really need a klassic 1v1 mode asap.
Its pretty easy formula. 1. Make the game fastpaced with fast strings 2. Make every character over the top. Give them everything. Then you will see people have fun.
Good breakdown. I agree with everything you said and yea it seems it’s going down the right direction, it looks like there some minor change of directions, like with Ermac having a mask, it’s good to see mask back and to have option of mask on Ermac. I’m hyped, I can’t wait for Ermac release and ngl for Movado kameo, his looking pretty badass. I’m also waiting for the next new season, dark Raiden season. I’m looking forward all of this. 🔥
Funnily enough i think they somewhat managed to show the character abilities better in mk11, you would always see Scorpion using his weapons or fire at some point, be it on strings or specials
Good Vid Man. Ermac is looking cool with his Mask on and his Combos are looking Dope plus Mavado is looking good also. Is it me or is the MK1 looking faster in this Trailer and is Mavado a Trap Assist only Kameo which will be very interesting. Reptile had afew New Moves in this Trailer, are NRS changing the Gameplay Mechanics in MK1.
They've been doing that recently. They did it last season with Quan Chi and before that with a couple cameos. It makes me hope my main, subzero, will get something soon. Though I might switch to Ermac.
I didn't watch the gameplay trailer so this is my first time watching it and I gotta say, they definitely made Ermac cool and entertaining to watch but that alone won't make me want to consume MK1 gameplay. Props to NRS for Ermac, the players still sticking with MK1 earned it and I hope they don't screw it up and just continue like this.
Ermac looks awesome with that mask,he's one of my favorite kharacters in MK story,i also loved the Mavado Deadly Alliance Fatality,such a nostalgic feeling.
I think Reptile got a new move when Ermac was facing him, so I'm hoping every character gets a new unique move to make them more interesting. Just seeing Ermac, I'm excited for how they will handle Jade and how they will utilize her pole staff, elegance, and precision to show visually appealing combos like they did here. More of this please NRS.
They could easily add more moves and kombos to the characters. The Titan boss fights prove this by them using extra moves that aren't in the command list.
@@DonYoGi8331 Totally agree. Saw some really interesting ones in the Titan battles and wondering why they weren't in the game. I personally would love my Empress Sindel to have more banshee moves.
its great the best trailer i 've seen in a long time for MK actually not since Tremor in MKX was i this hyped and entertained by the trailer its interesting they snuck in new moves for reptile also we'll see wht else is gonna be new i hope they do improve the game even though this past 7 months has been so trash there is still a good chance they can fix up hopefully they will seize the oppurtunity, we'll see i guess.
Mike if you look closely, they're making small changes to the rest of the cast. Reptile seems to have a dissappearing move & has his cross screen acid spit. There also seems to be a Block Breaker/Alpha Counter when blocking mechanic added
@@RealMikeHollow yes. Like you & Tom been preaching they need to do like SF6 & give the cast majority of their moves. Limiting them like Kung Lao missing his teleport to rely on a Kameo is dumb & extremely limiting
Yo, his design is good?! Holy hell, now that's shambolic on a whole new level. Also, if MK1 actually had all this sauce with half the cast design and all, I would've gotten this game no doubt. Both this and Tekken 8.
DLC'S are all good and will peek interest, but it will be short lived because invasions is what people will mainly play and Majority of us don't enjoy invasions! If developers implement Conquest mode, Krypt mk11 style and mini games that would definitely help! NRS/WB could take notes on how accurate Community Moders are able to produce OG skins from past instalments of mk! Seriously id happily pay real $ for these REAL OG skins!!! So for me just DLC'S and Cartoon expansion an't going to cut! Funny we have lowered our expectations so Much so that we are like Wow when literally anything comes out, when in fact developers are just Scrapping the bottom of the Barrel! Heading in the right direction is what i would expect from a Novice Development team, Not from NRS/WB! DLC'S are like a Child having a Overdose of Sugar and than flat-lining after a short burst of Energy! So it's Not sustainable! DLC'S can Only keep people interested for so long till it just gets boring again!

@@tmerchead1 He was Shao Khan's pawn during MK Trilogy. After being betrayed, he seeked redemption for his sins and he was the one who set Liu Kang's soul free. He was the symbol of guilt and redemption through Midway franchise. Now, in MK9 and MKX he was just a bad guy with no drive to do bad things, only to be catalyst to release Shang Tsung's soul. He was a cool looking mf with magic, but had no personality.
This game isn’t going to be saved in 1 update because it still needs a good amount of work, but considering we see reptile buffed with 2 new moves as well, maybe more ppl are getting buffs and hopefully it’s at least trending in the right direction

Made Sindel again good again in Mk1 which people wanted Made Raidien likeable which people wanted. Made like Liu Kang not a dick which people wanted Made Reptile have a human appearance which people wanted Added more 3d era characters like Ashrah, Reiko,Havik,Quan Chi, ,Kenshi,Nitara, and Tanya which people wanted. Made Rain a non dlc character which people wanted. . This not the first time Netherealm have done stuff that people wanted in Mk1.
I bought the premium edition of MK1 on launch so will get my moneys worth but after season 1 complete I'm done🙏Only watched and listen for you making the effort for content but like you said this is just a flash in the pan.
The mask was LITERALLY the only thing missing. I was less bothered by it than most, but regardless his new design was always incredible mask or not. People are only now acknowledging it just because of the added mask (which I also really love). If the mass complaints truly was the reason why they added the mask, then I appreciate all of you for it. But seriously the complaining was so overblown it was ridiculous. Can’t wait to play Ermac!

He looks really cool, and I already bought him unfortunately, but I have no intention on playing MK1. Maybe if they make up for the embarrassment that was Mileena's season, and if they finally patch Rain's dash cancel bug, I might come back. But until then, I'm good 👌🏾
Hot take: I would love they bring back Mavado as a character. I would take him over Omni Man and Peacemaker 🤷♂️. I feel NRS could do a whole bunch of creative moves with him. As far as design goes they can make him look a bit cooler though. Ermac is bringing a bit of SOUL to the game 😂

Ermac and quan chi have been the best characters the dlc been mid I miss when they did horror characters n shit they should saved all those super heroes for injustice
I dno man im not a big hater but ermac giving me crazy tina belcher vibes with how his arms stay down at his sides most of the time and none of his animations have any momentum or weight behind them. I was pretty underwhelmed personally but it’s cool other people like it.
As cool as Ermac looks gameplay-wise and despite him being one of my favorite characters, I'm actually more excited about Mavado returning for the first time since Armageddon, now I can team him with Reiko and play as my two favorite MK characters together, that's kinda sick, ngl...
Idk about his design imo. Mask on or not, MK1 Ermac just kinda has that "dollar store" vibe to him. Not sure if its a knock against the game's overall design astetics, or by how MK1's engine has weird proportions on some characters, but either way he just doesnt sit right for me. It feels like he *should* be the best looking one we've gotten, but I'd be lying if I said I still didn't prefer his MKX/9 designs.
@@marcomendiola8381 it's definitely Takeda last. Its been for the most part: guest (Omni man), MK character (Quan Chi), guest (Peacemaker), MK character (Ermac), guest (Homelander), and finally MK Character (Takeda).
Deserve credit when its due. Ermac definitely looks amazing. They keep going in this direction they may have a chance to become better then T8. So disappointed in T8 went from sugar to shit. SMH
the only issue is, ppl gonna like Ermac and still dislike everything else in the game. Outcome will be, you will have mirror matches Ermac vs Ermac 24/7. Which is very boring annd annoying. That was already the case with Peacemaker for weeks. I hated it and killed the fun for me, too.

I want to remind everyone, Mike Hallow and Tom Brady MK are reactionary channels. They'll make a video on anything good or bad. Mk1 does suck, and Tekken kind of sucks too, really seems like were in a place where the big franchises fell off.
