1.Gandhamardhan Hills:-
Gandhamardan Hills or Gandhamardan Parbat (Odia: ଗନ୍ଧମାର୍ଦନ ପର୍ବତ) is a hill located in between Balangir and Bargarh district of Odisha, India. This hill is well known for medicinal plants. There is a Bauxite reserve which is planned for exploration by the state government through a private venture.
Bio-diversity:-
The Gandhamardan mountain ranges are a rich source of diversity for medicinal plants.
Such is its richness in medicinal plants that more than 100 traditional healthcare practitioners live in and around the Gandhamardan hills. These practitioners provide medical facilities to about 50,000 tribal people. There are two Ayurvedic colleges and hospitals on both side of Gandhamardan - one in Bargarh district and the other in Balangir.
2. Rajabasa:-
According to some historians, then-king of Patana, Baijala Dev, had built the Nrusinghanath temple on the foothills of Gandhamardan in 13th Century. While the conservation of the temple is presently entrusted to the State Archaeology Department, there has been a long-standing demand to hand over the temple to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Clivea:-
Besides the Nrusinghanath temple, there are two heritage sites in the Gandhamardan hill the Panda Ghara Nivas and Rajabasa.
Situated near the Nrusinghanath temple, the Panda Ghara Nivas is believed to have been constructed about 500 years ago. The Patana king had entrusted the management of the temple to the Panda Ghara Nivas.
Another heritage site on the top of the Gandhamardan hill is Rajabasa, a platform measuring around 3 meters in length and 3 meters in breadth and believed to be the sitting place of the king. Situated about 10 km from the Nrusinghanath temple, it’s also in a state of ruin.
3. Nrushinghnath Temple-
Sri Nrusinghanath, the great temple of Odisha in India, is situated at the foothills of Gandhamardhan Hill near Paikmal, Bargarh. The King of Patnagarh, Baijal Singh Dev, laid the foundation of this historic temple in 1313 A.D. It is only 45 feet in height, divided into two parts: the first being the seat of the Lord Nrusinghnath, the second allotted to Jagamohan (antechamber having 3 gates and each supported by 4 pillars.
Tourism:
Here you can also visit Chal dhar (400 m from Temple), Bhim Dhar (425 m from Temple), Sita Kunda (500 m from Temple), Panchupandav (1.5 km from Temple), Kapil Dhar (4 km from Temple), Supta Dhar (7 km from Temple), Satyaamb (9 km from Temple), Bhim Madua (11 km from Temple), Happy Point (12 km from Temple). In recent year tourism has been developing in around Gandhamardhan hills. Nrusinghanath Temple is about 110 km west of Baragarh and 164 km from Sambalpur. Khariar Road Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Here also a beautiful garden created just near the temple, where Lord Krishna different avatar shown and also a 28 ft Hanuman Statue created inside the center of Garden.
