Last weekend I ventured out to the Altoona area to meet up with a group of friends to hang out and buff trains for a few days. Saturday April 2nd marked day 1 of the trip, hitting up spots along the scenic East Slope such as Horseshoe Curve, Cresson, Downtown Altoona, Gallitzin, as well as the popular Cassandra Railroad Overlook on the West Slope. A lot of color made its way through on the area on this day in the form of NS 8025 and 8100, multiple BNSF units, and a freshly painted UP SD70M, and the Loram Railgrinder as an added bonus.
