Indeed, if someone makes an independent but brilliant point in defense of the popular notion that it is solely performance of NSMQ that indicates greatness of her School, then that person is intelligent (and has brilliantly articulated her point despite occasional inaccuracies)... You have to recognize that just because she gave an alternative that make sense. So he is on point to make that statement. This has nothing to do with difference of opinion.

It is one thing having brilliant people and another thing taping into the potential of those brilliant minds. Past participants of the NMSQ have gone on to do great things both in and out of Ghana. Some are in NASA, Google, Amazon etc. It is upto the government to tap into them. How many times have you heard doctors and engineers complaining of not having the required equipment to work. Think my bro...

So if you say they are going through brain drain. I mean it how.. You make it look like its the students losing which is not true.. It goes to explain my earlier point that it is Ghana as a country that loses (in the form of brain drain) not the individuals trained. Most developed nations have similar programs(NMSQ) for their brightest students. France, US, Israel name them. When those students are done with school, the nation makes sure they give you that platform to exhibit your talent. Come to Ghana...schools are struggling to get basic science lab equipments to study and practice. The few students that are doing well too instead supporting and encouraging them, some people are here trying to run them down. Go to silicon valley and see the handiwork of past NMSQ contestants. Tell your leaders to harness the potential of these students and stop blaming the students or NMSQ participants.

Some learn hard to acquire but some are born like that. I know what I have been through in the last 1 year. I realized my son could write any number upto 1 million all by himself at just 2years 1 month. He could also answer every multiplication upto 20 x 20 at the same age. I got scared 😱

Exactly. Will she not represent her school if she had the chance to? Imagine how she will brag if her school has won the NSMQ before. Yes in those top tier school, its smart guys that are sampled and sent there. And most of them end up being the elite in society. All the schools are given a chance in the NSMQ. And yes, not much is done with most contestants in the NSMQ. But these guys have been working hard fir years even before the go to those schools. what is wrong with that? Leave the smart things for the smart guys. Don't trush their efforts. These same schools are competing in other contests and excelling. We all write the same national exams and people from those schools excel so what is with picking random people? Please!!!

@@davidoheneadjei4629Thank you.I had a friend in one School years back she’s so eloquent and even have accent but wasn’t good in academics at all.She can argue but didn’t get anywhere in life.NSMQ made it possible for students from less privileged homes to get scholarships home and abroad.In my school everyone interested in allowed to participate and they’re trained and groomed for that.They’re even more intelligent students who are not part of it bcos they don’t want to.Is she saying everyone is intelligent in her school?We should also pick a random student from her school and see if they can express themselves.I wish to see her BECE results😅😅😅😅😅😅

I represented same scool in 2014 NMSQ and were in the quater finals...do your research before you comment....she can't be entirely right but most of us here in our shs days had no such mentality of her's
