I hope you're right. I March alumni band most years, and it's not there same. Not just the numbers, the desire. My section (de hoinz) still crank though lol
I actually like both rap mixes...but SCSU ending sent chills down my back. NSU had home crowd advantage but the crowd had to respect that heat that SCSU was echoing in that gym. Im shocked of how big their program has gotten over the past few years! NSU had some party songs in their mix, SCSU just straight up blew some popular band songs...If it was a neutral location I think SCSU would have gotten more house...both mixes were nice but i'd go with SCSU...ya'll asses were awesome this year!
@MrKomKast Neck is their song. They work pretty hard helping to put together that BTOB and just helping out the band staff in general. They deserve to be recognized.
so im a ODU grad and sooo regret not goin to these BOTBs .....and ima def. have to go back and make a few trips this year to get back to what i missed. oh...and i soo regret not goin to a HBCU cuz of things like this. uuuuhhhhhh!!!!
I ain't a fan of the Spartan Legion but I gotta give credit where it's due... I LOVE this spirit mix! I watched them both and I gotta say I actually felt BAD for SCSU on this one!
Thats the Iota Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity Incorporated. Big shouts from Zeta Sigma @ NCCU!!! Keep doin it up bruhs! AEA
I agree SCSU played band songs that have been played in the early 2000 which will not cut it in a botb. NSU played music that people listen to on the radio. BOTB is for the crowd. Neutral site is not a factor when you please the crowd.... ask A&T.
@SCBorn1 Norfolk, Virginia. And no they didn't blow us out thank you very much. SCSU didn't hold back and should be much louder for a band of their size...
Best Bands of 2009 #1-NSU/Too Many good songs to name #2-UAPB/Flexible #3-JSU/......Motown Philly #4-SU/Hate Me Now #5-BCU/idk...but i think yall better than FAMU Honorable Mention: NCAT/Velvet Rope WSSU/Nobody Does It Better SCSU/HAY TXSU/Vibe FAMU/Plenty Money
@Blakmajik78 , SCSU was Great And I loved their Songs..BUT as far as sound goes.. Their Sound was comming thru th speakers.. thats where that "echo" came from.. The announcer was Talking thru the mix... How do i Know? I play cymbals for NSU and i was sitting beside the speakers..lol
Ummm think before you write sir/ma'am...Just because a band has power or volume does not make them SWAC...If so is the DCI SWAC??? NO!!!! Now before you make an open-ended comment like such be sure to have some validity to it. P.S. Paul Adams arrangements are THE BEST and the most intricate along the power, volume, and intensity so don't hate on NSU's arrangements...
I'm being forced to attend a PWC because my parents want me to get a "better" education. I know for a FACT that I'll regret not joining an HBCU because I've always wanted to march for a showband.
Does anybody know what the song is called after they play neck? AND IN MY OPINON the two bands cant be compared just because they in a certain conference doesnt mean nothing because still spme bands play with different power norfolk has always came with power and trumoets werent hangin over they would get stoned for that SCSU is jus a well balanced band all the time while NSU unleashes holy hell sometimes AND SWAC ANIT WHACK.
@TheJdog1109 nsu and a&t are the front runners to compete wit the swac to me scsu coming up but not ready yet.....famu and bcu style is jus too different
This comment sounds like you should have known better before you made it, yet you still made it. But then based on many of your other comments, maybe not. lol.
listen to SU The Show from the '06 Boombox Classic. much love to NSU.....you guys showed your asses on this one. Human Jukebox Fall 2k6 S phi S Fall 2k6 Sax Crab Sec. #1 Homer
