Hi Hambini, Petr from Cyclists Hub here. I am slightly disappointed that you think of my website as a "shill center." I share EVERYTHING (the good, the bad, and the ugly) I find when testing wheels, no matter whether I have an affiliation or not. For example, I recently published Superteam wheels review where the hub completely failed. Or the Lún MEGA review, where I also encountered an issue with the rear hub. Please, allow me to explain how I approach wheel reviews: First, I do basic QC checks that involve things like spoke tension readings, rim trueness, dishing, etc. Then, I use the wheels to learn how they actually ride so I can compare them with other wheelsets I tested. I have described this process in detail on the web. My overall conclusion of these wheels is neutral. Spoke tension was all over the place, but ride-wise, these wheels were comfortable to ride (more than some super stiff carbon-spoked wheels). We are each strong in something different. For you, it's engineering. Logically, if I'm going to spend resources (either financial or time) on testing, I want it to reach the people for whom it's relevant, if possible. Whether a given reader decides to buy the product is up to them. I'm not convincing anyone; I'm just presenting the results of what I've found while also giving the option to save when buying by using discount coupons (as well as you do with some products). So, to sum up, I'm sorry that the Cyclists Hub comes off as so negative from your video. But I'll leave it to people to make up their own minds about the integrity of my reviews. - Petr

Hahaha I work for NTN. Our facility manufactures bearings much much larger than that, most are used in heavy equipment like mining trucks and agricultural tractors.

I've built a few wheels, and the roundness and trueness of the hoop determines how the final product will turn out. The bottom bracket isn't the only hole manufacturers can't make round!

Ive got the older set of Trifox 60mm deep wheels (bought maybe 3 years ago), rear hub was trash I could get it to skip with my hands, even cleaning out the grease as a test (in case it was causing the pawls to not extend properly) didn't make it not-skip and nothing else I tried got it to engage properly. They sent me a replacement hub, I rebuilt the wheel and it still skipped the first time I stepped on the pedals and I could again cause it to skip by hand. In the end I bought a DT Swiss hub and swapped it out, (which to Trifox's credit they paid once I showed them the receipt of the hub) and havn't had any hub issues since

That is how the nukeproof v2 horizon are built but have a higher engagement. With 6 pawls on and 3 bearing in the gear and 2 in the rim for long life.

Hambini, the thing I appreciate so much about the frame reaming's, is that I have a basis of comparison in the Western brand's frames you've also reamed. You've reamed the Eastern and Western brands equally. For the wheels though, it seems like since Zipp took a lashing, most, if not all, of your wheel videos have been eastern, value focused, brands, not brands I see on the road or in the shop typically. I would love to see some thorough videos on some of the big Western wheel brands. Enve just launched a new hub I'd love your on hands opinion on. I'd be super curious to know what you think of Extralite hubs, Onyx Racing Hubs, maybe even Chris King. Also would love to know what you think of Reserve Rims, Enve Rims, and again, maybe even Chris King. When you tell me this Trifox wheel is trash, does that mean its better or worse than a new pair of Enve 4.5s off the shelf?

As someone who has chewed glass I can promise you it's not as bad as you think. Ingesting unleaded fuel however....yeah...that will fuck you up quickly. Do that instead.

I bought a pair of Nine Velo (and used the HAMBINI discount). They aren't here yet, but I'm looking fwd to rolling them soon.

Rims are pretty indicative Trifox may have got ahold of some older molds on the cheap.

I recently replaced my bearings in my Nutribullet blender. I was tempted to put in NTN or cermaic, but opted for cheapo stainless Chinese bearings. Hopefully I won't get reamed for that 🙄

They could be free and i still wouldn't use them. Stupidly heavy.

WIth straight-pull spokes, is there any reason why the nipples couldn't be on the hub-end rather than the rim end? The nipples would be burried in the hub and there wouldn't be the (small) aero penalty of them sticking out of the rim.

You would think that, over the last 20 years or so, improvements in design, materials and manufacturing would result in consistently decent if not good wheels to suit almost anybody. The reality is that most wheels - especially those claiming to be in the performance category - are consistently shit, if not worse. But, as I learned during my time in the business, these wheels appeal to a certain type of idiot who will go for appearances and price over quality, yet still expect said shit wheels to magically transform a shit rider on a garbage bike into something much better. When the opposite is true. People want their cake and eat it too. But they get a shit cake in the end and are too stupid to know any better. I could say more, but I’ll stop here. Trifox are so bad and the customer service is worse. They are just a reseller of defected open mold stuff. Take for example the trifox x16 frame. You can pick it up from delihea for alot cheaper before trifox repaint them. I know this for a fact because I had a trifox frame and they just repainted over delihea decals and I could see the raised delihea decals underneath. Threw the frame in landfill where trifox belongs.

the width and inner seems to indicate an older mould, and coupled with unnamed spokes and nipples, and an unproven/unnamed/no brand hub, well, yes, glass is chewable. Stick with Sapim/Pillar/DT spokes and nipples and at least a "reviewed" hub.
