Nuuuli (nu'u uli) - the dark village. Stories I've heard growing up in Nuuuli is that back in the day it had the most savage of savages on the island. The people were of the worst kind which is why for the longest it was associated with the devil lol. Our mascot was literally "Satan, up until the chiefs decided to change our mascot in 2014 to "Manulele Tausala" - the phoenix, because we've raised from the ashes and death. The chiefs didn't believe that a village with most churches and ministers should still be considered savage and demonic.
