Disclaimer:
This video is for qualified and competent commercial gas safe registered engineers only.
Do not take it as advice, do your own due diligence before carrying out any work.
Please ensure that you are gas safe registered and follow the current regulations.
Carry out your safety checks. Your Flues, Air, Gas, Safety device checks/ 26.9 checks.
Do an overall risk assessment and wear PPE when necessary.
Safe Isolation Procedure & electric safety:
Identify the source(s) of supply. Test your digital multimeter / approved voltage indicator & volt stick to make sure that it is working properly. Isolate the supply, disconnecting the system from the mains. Place the voltage free wires into a terminal block/wago. Secure or “lock off” the isolation using your safety padlock, preventing any tampering. Put do not use signs up on the switch you have isolated/locked off. It is good practice to wear gloves, rubber sole boots, have an electrical safety mat underneath you whilst working on high voltage and use VDE tools. Ensure that you are qualified & / or competent to work on high voltage.
Refer to your manufacturer instructions.
These videos have been made in good faith to encourage working standards, mindsets and knowledge in the industry.

This is no substitute for proper burner training. I am not a trainer so take this information with a pinch of salt. Simply an engineer learning and passing on what they have learnt. Without training or supervision it would be best for you to leave these units alone. Stay safe.

Lad, I’ve only just came across you’re channel & it’s the absolute business! Long overdue someone putting out content for us Commercial engineers 👍🏼
@CommercialGasEngineerVideos
Thanks Robert, been trying bro. It's not perfect but trying to put vids out there for others to hopefully gain something from my experiences. Thanks for finding the time to send a message.

Was that >1mb drop across the pipework when on maximum ?

Good question. Has been a good while since I've watched this video. Doubt there was more than a 1mb drop from meter to appliance for working pressure. I do recall these units burning like a dream. Good air and gas going to them both. It's also a good thing that these package burners come with a low pressure gas switch if by some chance the supply drops it will hold the appliance off from completing the ignition sequence.

Just from a safty prospective would have been good for you to show the viewers that you should always dry fire any burner that you have never worked on. before you work on it. But great to see a commercial/ industrial gas engineer channel keep up the good work

@paulburton1183 Hi Paul. Never been given that advice despite being on burner courses, or it went over my head. So will definitely take it on board. That's also what the comment sections for as I definitely can't know it all. Sometimes I learn more about an appliance years after and put it in the comments. Safety wise I've been told not to stand directly behind a burner when setting it up for the first time, upon ignition. Also to keep my hand on the gas valve or safety knock off. Would be great to see a channel dedicated to burners alone. Find very few people have vids on them. Thanks for the support and watching the vid bud. Please feel free to share more.

@CommercialGasEngineerVideos it's just what I was taught to isolate the gas with a gauge on while it's Purging that way you know it's not letting gas by on purge and that's the main reason why not standing infront of burners not worked on before just a sure fire way of knowing its all OK

Good shout. It's good that a lot of these burners do pre firing checks to ensure the gas valves are not letting by. Plus a high and low pressure check. So many safety devices to prevent human error yet I guess it's not good to depend on that. Safety devices can be bypassed or be faulty. It's ideal to have a gauge attached on these like you say to see what's happening. Dry fire is a good shout. Check out the playlist I have on burners if you get a chance. Would love to hear your opinion and any tips.

Any videos on dual fuel burners, I have my heart broken with a Unigas biogas / light oil 350kw burner. Only running on oil now as biogas was inconsistent and causing burner to soot up

Thanks for watching
