In the indian cinema, the amount of representation lgbtq+ people get is very little or they are shown as a joke and when there is an actor who is muslim and is potraying a homosexual character it can let a person who is a muslim and also homosexual to accept their sexual orientation. that is why representation in media is important . it helps people who feel like their sexuality is wrong know that what they are experiencing is normal , it also changes the view of homosexual people in society . they are not shown as a joke but are showing how homosexual people are in real life. I dont care what religion a person comes from , cause every single religion has a part that accepts homosexuality . therefore not counting them. Also religion is not an excuse to be hatefull towards lgbtq+ people. Some people say they are not being hatefull and will just ignore them and not judge them for their sexuality but that also means they have to be tolerant towards representation in media cause it is affecting closeted people feel valid which is a very integral part of their identity.
